I completed jump school at fort campbell in 1958 In #44-07 part 3 recovering from being dragged is much different from what I learned. We wore a harness and were pulled on our backs behind a jeep on an open field. there was no quick release. We had to get back on our feet by grasping the risers above our head, pulling our feet up over our shoulders, and planting them firmly to the ground. The forward momentum of the jeep brought you to your feet, and only then did the vehicle stop.
@JRoc43Swag only pointers you need ... feet and knees together, knees slightly bent , chin on your chest & elbows tight into your sides. You'll forget you're afraid of heights once you're there.
They keep a tight body position with chin to chest, feet & knees together (always!) and their elows in tight until they count to four. If you get past four and your chute hasn't opened, it's time to really think about pullin that reserve ;-)
