Well I did it. Lol. Took forever buy after 3 hours I stepped away and came back and ot actually looked like something akin to what you were drawing. major.progress for me - thank you so much foe your time and willingness to share your tremendous talent.
I can clearly see that you draw after a picture and there's a huge lack of proportions and construction knowledge. You just draw what you see but you're not aware of what you draw.
that is an amazing tutorial and drawing! i used the wool thingy but the paintbrush is way better so you could still see my pencil strokes. but anyway thnx so much for the tutorial! i will put up a video of my drawing. im 10 yrs old so plz dont swear and merril plz could u comment to help me draw better thnx so much!
hey what is that tool you used to shade ive never seen that before.and also ididnt even no hb went up in numbers .ive never seen a pencil with 3b and other stuff on it. could you tell me exactly all the tools you use .ive been collaberating so i can become the best damn artist there is
@DarkHeartHideka You mean that white thing? It's called "Paper Spreader" actually, it varies in names. Instead of using your finger to spread & soften,u use this. & the 3b thing- the higher it goes, the darker & softer the lead it gets. [the average: from light to dark: 4H 3H 2H H B 2B 3B 4B 5B 6B 7B 8B 9B]
Hi there, I have a question... I'm a beginner and i would love to know which types of pencils you need to use for diffirent kind of drawing that you make. I hope you can do a tutorial about that? It will help alot! Thanks! Keep up the good work. Sen
i was wondering if u are just using a regular brush to fade you shading???
but i am a real fan of yours and used a lot of tips and guides and somewhat combined them with the lessons i learned in my own art classes to come out with my own unique style of drawing.
Two Thumbs up for all your videos tyvm and i really appreciate your skill and work
Very nicely done, you are a very talented artist. I am young, so I hope when I become older and more experinced I can be half as good as you. Winslow Homer would be proud.
@sxephlI lol phil i'm surprised you're interested in drawing (pleasantly of course); he's using a soft brush and cotton, you can always use a tissue also; from personal experience i've noticed that tissues are preferable for a more strong blending... for more dark areas, and cotton or brush for the softer areas, so you get a smooth lighting effect. oh and always keep the hand you're drawing with on a piece of paper so you don't get fingerprints on it.
sorry to say this but your drawing technique is wrong. even if you re only using the technique to help others draw it's the wrong way. study anatomy, every part of the body has unique lines and proportions that MUST be regarded when drawing... using just shapes that you think are accurate doesn't work and don't lead to a correct graphite drawing - or any type of artwork that is. learn watchers to use lines and geometrical shapes to draw the body... that's what graphics is all about.
@iLovPASTAAA well he's doing it for the right reasons, believe me, i found out the hard way :D cause i drew like that a lot before going to college :)
hello, first off thank you for the tutorial. I'm pretty good at drawing when I copy off of photos but when I try to draw without a reference photo I have a hard time understanding how the light hits the body and what shadows the light creates. It seems inaccurate to me. I was just wondering if you used a reference photo to do that picture and if you have any advice.
I was kinda left missing the physiology part - I mean it's usually better to get the idea of the musclestructure and how muscles go and it was a bit disturbing that this vid only showed how to copy simple shapes that in the end form the body. I'm not saying I didn't learn anything though: Your shadowing style is absolutely gorgeus and you really know what you're doing with those pencils there :D
your getting better and better at shading but one thing(personal opinion) i think your not to good at the shapes... again that's just my opinion after all what does a 15 year old boy know?
@jsantis91 Just be willing to make mistakes.....or shade too much. Usually people are too conservative when they shade. Push it to the threshhold and if you mess it up, learn from it. Thanks for checking out my channel jsantis91!

@kazanjianm also jsantis dont forget if youre using a pencil you have an eraser, and if youre using charcoal you can use white charcoal, so just like kazan said even if you shade too much you can always erase or highlight

im a 3d modeler so shading comes easy to me, but i have real trouble with shapes, espessialy of objects where the perspective is at an angle
