I am a drummer myself.

There is many ways you can hold a stick.

Some people hold it the classical way, some hold it the modern way.

Some have 1 hand classical and the other modern.

It's all about comfort.

And some drummers will hold sticks differently for different songs, as it may allow for faster drum rolls and easier triplets, etc.

Personal preference.

No right or wrong.
