  • love this song!

  • Chicks loved this band in the 80's.

  • This is one of the best songs they ever did and the harmony IS their best. from 2.40 on their is nothing better The vocies blend so well they give me chills. And then I hit the repeat button. Over and over and over and over and you all get my drift!!!

  • very beautiful song...he makes it sound so romantic!

  • What Modern Man doesn't want to be this Man For A Woman.

  • Love ,Love me some Steve Perry!!!!!!!

  • This is and always will be one of my most favorite journey songs. It is so beautiful.

  • God I miss that voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • deuce deuce in between my legs windows down radio cranked on my way to my boyfriends. Fun times never forgotten. 22

  • @stacycoop603 - a .22 ???

  • @D7J7W7 booze cruise a 22 oz

  • The Greatest VOICE

  • are the good artist really immature or does the media only shows clips of them acting flaky? nowadays freaks who cannot play one instrument are acting so angry and sour yet expect people to view them as "serious artitsts"

this 1986 release was the only journey album i ever bought.

  • Journey = Quality

  • I just read Matthew Carty's interview with Journey's former manager Herbie Herbert. Herbert paints picture of Steve Perry as a self-absorbed & unappreciative jerk, Jonathan Cain as inauthentic & indecisive, Ross Vallory as weakwilled & unmotivated, & Neal Schon as inept at everything but music. It all sounds accurate but who knows how much is truth. He never denies the talent in the band but cannot seem to get over the fact that enduring music is not always created by mature, pleasant people.

  • @industrialsun i guess that pretty much sums up all of us... hahahhahaha... over all, they still managed to come together to create some of the best music ever!

  • @industrialsun

sounds like sour affirmative-action grapes. he should be glad they even hired him.

  • @The096757 Herbert was upset that Perry had final approval on Journey's VH1 Behind The Music episode & felt it was a sanitized version of their history. Maybe the unflattering stuff Herbert said was correct but a lot of it was contradictory too. Herbert calls himself a Bay Area hippie at heart yet almost all he talked about in the interview was money. If these guys were unkind or unprofessional behind the scenes, that's disappointing but they always maintained their commitment to the music.

  • You were right............

  • Undaaaaaaaaaaa the moooooooooooooooooooooonlight!

  • great music!!!! even japanese musicians imitate it...they idolize Journey too...

  • Journey - most underrated band

    Steve Perry - awesome vocals

    Pure oringinality

    Real instruments

    Real talent

    Timeless classic!!!

Long live 80's rock!!!............. nuff said!!

  • @darthpervertous Rate the rest of the band from the 'classic' line-up. Don't just rate Steve.

  • Girls can´t help 2 do anything they want nowadays.

  • my most favorite song by journey!!!

  • I love this song!! I wish there were more bands who did this kind of music now. This music feels more...real!

  • @StarryNinjaFox They still tour lol.

  • Love this song! Steve Perry Rocks!!

  • this song is so epically timeless...

  • *Going on to youtube* Hm? what should i listen to, fake music about nothing or a timeless classic band with genuine music...

  • @ImCarrotsforBananas Classic band with great music is correct - another perfect song from the past! I loaned out my dvd of Journey Live and of course no one admits that they are the one I loaned it to. Maybe I'll remember who it was eventually.

  • best voice ever in rock and roll.

  • @blutobelushi Hell yes!!

  • @blutobelushi yes

  • @blutobelushi absolutely untouchable!!

  • ohhhh Diana what happened.

  • I miss the 80's..... when music was muisc ......

  • The reason people havent heard quality such as this is due to hatred of true musicianship...learning about harmony and melody...playing fast is really a great gift...but at the heart of this music is harmony and melody...knowledgeable musicians are a threat to the industry

  • After listening to this song five times in a row had to write once again The harmony in the tune is amazing This should be required listening in all schools, we might get some kids into harmony again

  • @Kitandroxandbec I hadnt seen your post prior to my own just now.... you hit it right on the head of the nail.

  • Journey had many gems but none better than this Catch the harmony throughout amazing harmony is a word rap and hip hop clowns have not heard of

  • girl cant help it, she needs more....

  • The thing is that today everyone seems to like this kind of AoR, true musicianship, but nobody is playing it anymore, and it is a shame. Forget about the charts, all rubbish these days. The best record of 2011? for me it is Black Country Communion. And what do they play? Classic Rock. Prog and Classic Rock, there is where we have to find some music if you are not into Jazz... Journey were and are true greats, but to me ToTo are still at the top, rare balanced alchemy of taste and musicianship.

  • @aledelverne Its amazing the common points of view here.... great post :)

  • I still love this song...start to finish...

  • greatest band ever! =so love steve perry! call me lol!

  • my college roomates were into journey.... and I got sucked in as well... ok.

  • Isn't this albums Randy Jacksons only claim to Journey fame?

  • Awesome song. Opening riff sounds Asian. Incredible chorus totally gets inside your head. Steve Perry is the greatest ever. Big middle finger to the dirtbag losers who would ever criticize or put down Journey. They are one of the great bands, period. Better than Boston, better than Bruce Springsteen, better than a ton of bands.

  • @aishinosaki2011 As much as I like Journey I don't know if they are greater than those artists you mechioned. Say they are better than Pink Floyd or Yes then we have to talk. Journey was a great Arena Pop Rock band. In that genue their is no equal.

  • @donmccullen Pink Floyd sucks, Journey was not an arena pop band, they just filled arenas. Just plain old fucking good music.

  • @donmccullen Pink Floyd sucks, Journey was not an arena pop band, they just filled arenas. Just plain old fucking good music.

  • @edithbunkerz Stifle yourself Edith, you dingbat. Pink Floyd does not suck. They sold out stadiums before Journey hit it big. Moreover, they are two entitely different styles of music.

  • @kaveman1021 Aaaa, shut up. Pink Floyd is just noise, only people on something can tolerate that shit...

  • @edithbunkerz. You are a certified idiot who isn't worthy of merit.

  • @kaveman1021 who certified me, you? in that case where is my certificate?

  • @edithbunkerz Hmm, really?

  • @edithbunkerz - I'm not on anything Edith and Pink Floyd is one of my favs

  • @aishinosaki2011 They were ment to be a Arena Band. They tried the Progressive route, and they sucked their. Thanks Steve Perry.

  • This song gives me chills up my spine, especially at the end! I was in high school in the early 80's and listened to and owned some of Journeys albums. Long live Journey and the 80's!!!!!!!!

  • They didn't play this last night..........but the show was still great. This IS my favourite Journey song. xoxo

  • Saw them in concert, December 2,1986 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Tx. The "Raised On Radio" tour. They kicked some serious ass that night!! Best concert I've ever been to!

  • Another great one by Journey and the great Steve Perry! Thanks a million for uploading all of these fabulous videos. They bring back some incredible memories of my youth and young adulthood!

  • Pure passion, "Fire!"

  • One of those songs that will always be great and played over and over and shared with my wife of the eternities. :D

Thank you gentlemen, especially you Mister Perry. :D

  • I can remember this as being one of those famous summer songs. Driving with the windows open and just enjoying life!!!! GREAT SONG.....

  • one of my top 3 Journey songs. omg, after all these years this song sounds so amazing. Steve Perry's voice is timeless. "Girl Can't Help It" Journey is the love of my life.

  • @JourneyRocks81 My Journey Top 5 (how can you limit yourself to 3?): this song, Still They Ride, After The Fall, Lights, and Lovin Touchin Squeezin. Not necessarily in that order.

  • @57highland I never limit myself when it comes too journey. Don't know what gave you that Idea? I love all of Journey song with Steve Perry at the helm. But, my top 3 are my top 3. If, I had too i would say My Top 100 . JOURNEY ROCKS!

  • Raised on Radio is definitely my favorite Journey album

  • are you sure that is not Ross Vallory on bass and the legend Steve Smith on drums?

  • @robertnu07 - No it's Randy Jackson - he played on the Raised on Radio album. He also did some of the backing vocals

  • @robertnu07 No its Randy Jackson & Larrie Londin for sure, I also saw the "Raised on radio Tour". Ross & Steve were both fired by management at the time eventhough they did contribute to the album and also received royalties.

  • I'm not a big Journey fan but this a beautiful ballad! Love it!

  • How can 4 people not like this song?? It hits you right in the gut, especially Steve Perry's vocals...go figure.

  • Bring back Steve Neil Steve Jonathan and Ross!

  • Randy Jackson from American Idol on bass guitar and Larry Londin from The Elvis Presley Band on drums. Great production.

  • @Gordfozzfoster : did not know that!!! randy jackson just gained a couple points.

  • @tenapage Randy sez his personal favorite track he ever recorded was "Shining Star" by Stryper off their Against the Law album 1990. It is a funky-metal cover of an Earth Wind and Fire tune. Randy is amazing...slap and po like Flea fr RHCP.

  • It's not as good as the Little Richard original

  • @tadams67 It's not a cover of the Little Richard original. Don't compare them.

  • whoever disliked this song should burn in the fiery depths of hell

  • Bring back that sound ! This is Real!

  • A year ago this song reminded me of my life. Awesome song. :D

  • Excellent tune, Neil's guitar sound is great.......

  • Listen to this every nite at work via Pandora! great song!!!!

  • fabulous days and night, thank you for posting!

  • @lola9343 If you're talking about that stupid Beyonce song, I totally got it stuck in my head when I came to watch this video. I hate that song like there's no tomorrow, so thank gawd there's this.

  • Steve's voice at 2:25 is primo!

  • eeee

  • question for all yall journey fans...is there ANYONE out there now that can come close to journey?? album rockers to the core?? what maybe guns and roses....todays music is CRAP!....i sure do miss the 80's!!!!!

  • @aarmington Guns n' Roses has NOTHING on Journey, no matter how good it is.

The only people who can get close to Journey are Van Halen and Boston.

  • @Monkeychild41 Pink Floyd, Kansas, Toto, Alan Parsons Project maybe

  • @aarmington me 2

  • @aarmington Jeeeez, not EVEN guns n roses! :) Journey is the best 80's rock band imo.

  • @aarmington Bon Jovi is the band keeping the genre alive.

  • great song, still holds up today and for years to come

  • Thank you so much for this, I miss Steve!

  • God I love that song...it gives me goosebumps everytime. They have such a talent for melody and harmonies!

  • If he could hold her - so close in his arms again.............If she could show him - the letter her heart forgot to send. This song is so sad. Love it.

  • One of my favourite Journey songs also. My favorote is 'Who's Crying Now' but only when it is sung by Steve.I love the live video of this song especially the part where Steve is standing by Neal and Steve gives Neal a funny look while he is singing 'He wonders why she cares'. Poor Neal lol. For me Journey will never be Journey again without Steve. You just cannot replace 'The Voice'.

  • He has got the best voice--

  • Comment removed

  • There's two song's i like in Journey this song, and Who's Crying Now.

  • Hit #9 rock, #17 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • I like more industrial and goth ..... but there is still a part of me that really likes this song. Listening to WRIF in the early 80's with JJ and the morning crew.... high school.. God I'm glad I got beyond it, but there's still a "Shelley G" out there that I wish I'd actually had the brains (and guts) to tell how much she meant to me.... I was such an idiot.... oh well... we grow up and move on.... nothing stands between love and you......

  • The vocal harmonies are beautiful.

  • may long drives to and from college...great song on a long highway

  • @DunedinP

Mine, too! Not to take away from Journey's other hits, but I think some of them steal some of the limelight that this one should be getting.

  • @DunedinP ......I hear you. This song gets to my soul. The harmonies are so beautiful. ............

  • This album still rocks

  • Yes. This album did not really do as well as their others.
