The reason this phone hasnt IMT-2000 aka 3G is becouse the exaggerating 3G is so not that good. The phone simply does not need 3G becouse it works well whitout it. it`s a buisness phone and works on Wi-Fi. Use the browser on the Javelin and compare it whit a avrage 3G phone on the market and you will see that both phones will load just whit the same speed. the video buffering just tiny bit slower whitout 3G but YOU do not need 3G. and YES this phone is so sweet. i have one myself. even Obama ;)

it's a cellular network which has faster speeds than EDGE or one's before it (i'm not too sure on previous one's but i'm sure somebody will) basically its not quite as fast as your average Wi-Fi Connection but fast enough to browse the web etc

I got this one today, the lack of 3g isn't a worry for me, as I only use the IM 'on the go'. The screen is stunning, and the camera is pretty nice. Worth it :D

this phone is actually really nice.

i was surprised too, the bold was great and i really enjoyed it, but if you look at it technically, the bold has more negatives than the curve, but i do agree that the bold just looks more luxurious because of the imitation leather, but the curve is the way to go.

and plus, the 8900 is only with tmobile for now on american carriers, and to be honest, tmobile's 3g isnt that great. i couldnt see a difference with the 3g and the regular wifi.

Its unlikely American carrier AT&T will relase their grips on the 9000 series (BlackBerry Bold) anytime soon, I'm not currently aware of any plans to release the bold on T-Mobile, As of now the Curve is what T-Mobile is retaliating with, but some prefer the Bold to the Curve, I personally own a Curve and have been very satisfied with it. I prefer it over the Bold for various reasons.

@theoneuhate What a lot of people don't understand is that Tmobile has created Wifi on the Tmobile blackberries only. The Wifi pickup is a lot faster, and consistent than 3G connections. Say for instance if you are at school in an underground area, it'll pick up off the Wifi which is awesomely useful.

You are right. I actually work at T-Mobile in the Lenexa,KS call center and I tell customers that all the time that Wifi is better then 3G. For #1, it's faster and #2 T-mobile 3G is only in major city markets. It's not everywhere and we don't have the list for the 2009 3G city release yet.
