I agree with your saying something about warm and cool. I think this is a predominantly warm palette. It is a hair more neutral than the last one. I would not describe it as neutral, but I think one could at least sort-of get away with that. I do not think UD should describe it as cool. It is not. There are two colors that are cool, off the top of my head. I do not see how UD and others are saying it is cool. Disturbing to me. Thank you for knowing the difference.

Have you seen the NYX butt "naked" palette? I really wish Urban Decay's Naked 2 had the same colors as the new NYX one. They are more cool and on the grey side. I'd love to see your thoughts on the new NYX palette.

I agree, I think it stupid that UD come out with another Naked palette, if u have the first u def don't need the new one. Like u said, they just want another big selling product. Y not come out with a palette with dark, smoky, dramatic colors. I won't be buying this as I own the first one.

I am pretty glad that Midnight Cowboy wasn't included for once in a UD palette, I like that there was 3 mattes, and that its "permanent." The new case is better in the sense that it can get thrashed around. The velvet case is more for everyday women with smaller collections. The palettes are nice, but they both contain warm toned neutrals, Naked 1 being only slightly cooler.

Thanks for this review. I actually emailed UD about the frustration of the duplicates and lack of cool toned shadows. Didn't expect to hear back, at all, but a rep emailed me back quickly and agreed with me about them both being completely warm toned, and said she would pass along my email about needing a cool toned Naked palette. I just can't wear warm tones. They make me look sick. And I love UD shadows, so this was just another palette I had to skip :(

Thanks for an honest review, D!! The new packaging really appealed to me too, but I just can't justify buying it when most of the colours are very similar to the first Naked Palette!! I kinda wish they would sway from the "Nude/Natural" tones and try a new kind of palette, like variations on like a teal or greens palette, or a plumb, or blues.....do you catch my drift? They have soo many amazing colours and they can create soo many cool palettes, I just think they should have tried that instead!

Karlasugar's swatches are definitely more accurate and true to life than temptalia's. But of course everyone's camera and screen resolution is different. I just prefer Karla better because I never seem to agree with temptalia's reviews. I don't feel she's always being completely honest. And I say this from real life comparisons and being thoroughly disappointed by several products that temptalia has endorsed.

What's weird about half baked is that it's a different color for me in both palettes. My Half Baked in the 1st palette is exact to Snakebite in the 2nd. Mind you, my palette is one the originals with that had the duo liner in it. I don't know how I got that haha.

Great and honest review. That's why I love watching you. Others are "loving" it and saying it has "cool" tones to it and that if you have the first kit that you might want to get this one too. @makeupbydewi The original review on Temptalia said it was similar to a color in a palette by the Balm. I don't know of any single dupes but I LOVE colors like that. I'm all over dirty greys and silvers and taupe-ish colors. Check out Gem by ZuZu luxe sometime. It's not the same as Pistol but it's that "type" of color... you might like it! I love it :)

@urbanfabchic (They are!!! SHHH! LOL!) Estee Lauder definately has it over MAC with many of their cream formulas - They are just lacking the artistic punch of color that MAC has... Always keep your eye on their limited edition collections though (like Cyber eyes), that's usually when Lauder seems to roll out the more exciting products here and there.

@JessicaLuvsMakeup Nope. She might be mixing up how MAC refers to cool and warm tones maybe? Cool toned neutrals are really lovely but aren't as available. Warm tones are golds, coppers, things with a lot more "warmth" to them. Cool tones would be more grey-based and what you might refer to as "muddy."

@xxLovelyMe Honestly they are both so similar I would say either one... The neutral browns are almost all the same, the only thing that changes is the few dark greys and blacks.

I liked this palette! thought Naked 2 did a good job of offering different levels of sheerness. Verve, for example, has a sheerer luminosity that I really like. I did not like the brush, actually, but that's OK. This palette seems to be more about the mid-tones and brights. For me, and I'm really pale, I loved how a lot of these look on me, especially Tease - very pretty. I think if you have a LOT of makeup, though, there are probably a lot of dupes here. :)

Am I the only one who likes Naked 2 better than the original? Not only are the colors better for me (guess the finishes are better for women older than Jesus), but I haven't experienced any fallout like the first one does (OMG, you should have seen the glitter all over my daughter for prom from that stupid palette).
