  • It is time to get rid of people playing politician, and out a real govenor in the office, Its time to freeze all of Arnold's assets and give them back to the paople he stole them from. Increase the taxes from the rich people, the govenment needs to force the gas companies to stop overpricing the gas, $3 -$4 is way too much, it needs to be like around $1.50 per gallon. Increase taxes on businesses that want to import goods from foriegn countries so that it is less to make the stuff here.

  • this commercial had me until the end

of course you had to polarize the issue; one side good, other bad. simple enough....

...everything is black and white, correct?

  • Its NOT prop 13, IT's the central banksters at the Fed and big oil~

  • Why not laugh at The Gov-Arnold, get it here from harvandharv, ze kook.

  • When I was young we had manufacturing here. Also, businesses here were owned by CA residents. They hired us to work in thier stores. We had new business here. Oh, and a high-school grad could afford a house. My home, I love it, and have to leave it.

  • It's not just the Republican party. Mayor Villagrosa will pay for Jackson's funeral and I can't get my street repaved! I pay over $12,000 a year in property taxes. THe MTA was such graf and corruption. Mayor Riordan's law firm handled the MTA, Supervisor Burke's husband had the cement contract for the subway. It is bi-partisan waste and corruption.

  • That is a lot of taxes. You are so right, it is corruption for all.

  • California is just too expensive, period. Why should people have to spend so much just to feakin live?

I got out and now live in a sensible part of the world, South America!

  • Warren Buffet warned Calif that Prop 13 was disasterous.

Now u have some ppl living in a $2 million dollar home paying $2000 in taxes.

We have many ppl in Houston living in $2 million + houses (sports figures, doctors, lawyers, oil company execs, those living off investments) & on a $2 million dollar home here they'll pay about $50,000 in taxes (some make that much in a day).

And Calif wonders why they're in trouble?

Please don't ask for a BAILOUT w/ money coming from other states!

  • Repeal prop 13 and budget crisis solved. Not going to happen because rich people don't want to pay property taxes on a 10 million dollar estate. If repealing proposition 13 would be 'too socialist,' then Texas must be too socialist.

  • California is imploding and these people have no idea what the hard times will look like. Cali has the fourth highest unemployment rate in the U.S. because it has the third highest income tax rate, sky high sales taxes + other fees, and a crazy gas tax. But they continue to complain they don't have enough revenue! I moved here 4 years ago and love the weather but the people are insane. They take and they take and all they want is more. Make the hard choices and live within your means!

  • Getting rid of Prop 13 would be a great start. How can you justify people who don't work, inherit homes, have no mortgages, and pay under a thousand bucks a year in property taxes when new home buyers are forking out 4-, 5-, 6-thousand dollars. Yeah, that's fair.

  • Taxes buy civilization...

  • this video is complicated and i don't get it????

  • You're right - the governor of the state of California bears no responsibility....well, as long as that governor is a member of your political party right?

  • No he sucks too.

  • Should of taken that closed sign to the border.

  • What kills me every time I ask people about the 3rd parties I always get the same response "I dont wanna waste my vote on someone who won't be elected." Yeah and that's why they wont be elected.

  • It is not prop 13, it is the redevelopment agencies, they get all the tax income generated not the city. get them out of california.. get your money back, we have 85 cities in la county developed to the hilt.

they are doing it for profit not to get rid of blight, natural development is good forced development and foundations of sand versus rock if you get my drift is morally wrong and predatory. take the redevelopment money and sunset out the redevelopment agencies, developers dont need them

  • How about we just tax Orange County 300%? And repeal prop 13 while we're at it?

  • tx for making and publishing it.

  • Warren Buffet warned Calif about Prop 13 but most wouldn't listen.

It sounded good - freeze property taxes, but now you have some ppl in an area buying a new home & paying more than 20 times what others are paying.

I understand a person in a $2 million dollar house or a $200,000 home could both be paying $2,000 in taxes. Here in Texas the tax bill on $2 million dollar home might be $50,000 for the year.

Calif screwed itself - PLEASE DON'T COME ASKING OTHERS TO BAIL YOU OUT!

  • Should have stuck with Grey Davis. Total Recall

  • Do any of you believe it was Schwarzenegger and not the liberal fantasy world that broke that state?

  • I guess this is what they meant when they said, "California will break away from the U.S. and fall into the sea." A sea of debt?

  • looks like a step in the right direction to me.

  • Ya, ya, it's the end of the world as we know it,...

  • California, Epic Fail.

In fact if it wasnt for California being so darn conservative they wouldnt be in this mess.

    ROTFLMAO

  • Yeah - it was the liberals that put a cap on rich people's property taxes and pushed for losing billions prosecuting marijuana use rather than taxing it. Property taxes used to go directly to the schools - good things those days are over.

    /s

  • Schools were good in the 1970's and property taxes were killing the average homeowner... it's the corporate loop hole that's killing us now.

  • "he's no republican"

He opposes the Democrat's proposed budgets because he doesn't want to raise taxes and would rather see our education system and social programs suffer more than taxing a few more cents to some oil companies or whatever. He is a true Republican.

You are what's wrong with California.

  • "Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger "

When is this dumbass state going to learn not to elect actors for governor. Looks like we didn't learn our lesson from the Reagan years.

Repeal prop 13, legalize it, tax rich people foreverrrrrr

  • Great video! So scary as it's so true. I work for SD CIty Schools and there's been so many cut-backs it's just insane. We don't even have enough staff to keep in compliance with many of the district or state laws. Schools w/o enough help for Sp. Ed and many sites don't have nurses. It's more than one law suit waiting to happen w/o anything we can do about it.

  • I have to admit, I wasn't truly sad to see the Department of Motor Vehicles closed. Maybe you can abolish it and give that money to a worthy cause instead.

  • Hell! the Wallstreet banks are open for taxpayer donations courtesy of Blue Dog Dems. Boxer and Feinstein.

  • Don't forget Dodd and Obama.

  • Bifurcate Prop 13...! Make that a set in stone and you will get the support from We the People! No one wants to see seniors lose their homes to the greedy taxman!

  • why does everybody always jump to the prison system as a loss of money???

is slave labor (work project) not a profitable business???

where we lose the money in our justcie system isnt the prisons, its the courts, and most of the court's loss of money is from drug prosecution, maybe take a note out of the netherland's book?

  • Comment if Nicky sent you here!

  • While this video dramatizes the plight of millions of Californians suffering at the hands of the state legislature's bad decisions, is it inconceivable that this could be the fate of the United States as a whole?

    I dont think so.

  • $100 million for oil drilling; $140 million taken from the children's safety net. typical priorities from rich white guys.

  • good job. spread it far and wide. lyn

  • we need to straighten out our priorities...

  • Let's spread this far and wide. Sacramento forgot about the humanity.

  • But the prisons will be kept open. In fact, the state is planning to build thousands of new prison beds.

  • Short, sweet, emotionally effective. May be too subtle for some.... I liked it alot.

  • That's a powerful little video. Campaign ad, I'm guessing?
