Actually, as far as I know, Rock music may have very well stemmed the growth of Rap music. But nothing to worry about, there are many rock bands nowadays - but Rock is ever-changing and that explains why no new bands nowadays are like this.

Statistically, Rap will rise and decline like Rock did from the mid-late 1900's, but Rap will do so in the 2000's or sometime.
