  • Oh.. One thing I would like to get a hold of is Lenny Dee video material. If it helps anyone I can convert NTSC to PAL DVD.

  • Where is Ray playing these days? Not seen him about for years...

    Elp!

  • Thank you so much Dave

This is a great tribute to Lenny Dee

And Ray is just gorgeous playing a la Dee

  • i own that same organ. i took the stationary speakers aloose and it sounds dang good!!

  • Awesome! The closest in sound and style to Lenny that I've heard. More!

  • Rudy Rosa is another super great Hammond player...rudyrosa1on youtube...he uses lots of delay echo !

  • Wow, this was very enjoyable!

  • RIDE IN A PINK CAR. Re-released 1987 as THE RETURN OF KID BARKER. Turns up on EBay. Lenny is the star of this video. The only one with any acting ability. Shame that no film producer saw the potential of this legendary organist. He knew every inch of a Hammond. Apart from Ray Willets who keeps Lenny's sound and style alive, I can think of very few of today's artists who can play Hammond organs and get so much from them. Ray...You should make a whole CD devoted to this great artist.

  • Hi, I,m not Justin - the Grandson indicated in an earlier reply.

  • Rayis hoping to be making a Tribute to Lenny Dee cd in the near future, and is trying to arrange to perform a tribute concert in america in memory of Lenny

  • Well I just have to chime in here and say that with my very customized B3 Hammond and Leslie speakers and delay echo units and the 3 Casio keyboards that I have ! I also can come SUPER close to The Lenny Dee "sound" and style of playing ! Even the Solovox sound that Lenny Dee used ! flyingfingersmark in Galena Illinois !

  • Great sound, you certainly nailed Lenny's style.

  • I'm Lenny's grandson. I remember going to the set of Ride in the Pink Car when I was Kid. I had a blast coming to Florida to hang out with Lenny or Opa as I called him. I'm just on here reminiscing about the good old days!

  • hi just spoke to ray today who was playing in the video you saw on youtube,, are you called justin???? ray is going to do some more lenny tribute stuff on his hammond in the near future and i'll upload it to youtube for him, also ray will be coming to america sometime next summer ... maybe arrange a lenny tribute concert over in the states???

  • Ride in the Pink car was terrific wasn't it.. i mean in a shlocky low budget sort of way...

  • Wow, i loved this video...as a huge Lenny Dee fan, i really enjoyed your playing Ray!! Tell me more about how i can get this reverb sound...i've got an X-66, Concorde, and old BC with a Leslie. Love it!!! jay

  • Hi Ray ! Sorry I keep missing your phone calls ! It's always great hearing from you !Putting in a lot of hours on my day time jobs! Will be looking for Lenny in the pink cadillac DVD !You will catch me at home one of these times, promise !!! Mark in Galena Il

  • Hello, what kind this organ? Be near B3 but not B3. Made from H100 in B3 style?

  • it's a b3000, it was the first digital hammond organ, and is from the pre suzuki days. but the h-100 is awesome nonetheless

  • Oh, yes, i see now :-) The dawbars in right side are different. I think not digital, analog.

  • Ah, the reverbmeister himself! It must be a spring that stretches around the whole of the Metropole.

    Keep it going Ray!

  • With all the World Wide interest in the two recent recordings by Jasmine Records of Lenny Dee, it's about time Ray did a tribute CD. So few people have the art of playing a Hammond like this.

  • hi flyingfingers, its a good friend of mine ray willetts playing here in blackpool. i know he's using a hammond B3000 organ and its been modified so you can plug in an external reverb unit then the whole lot goes through the leslie (except keyboard) i'll fing out which reverb unit it is for you.

    Regards,

    Dave

  • finally someone who can get close to the Lenny Dee echo sound !! And use the presets ! What echo unit are you useing ???? I play B3 2 Leslie 122's and PR-40..and a huge fan of Lenny Dee ! I also have 3 Casio keyboards with my B3?

  • Got your DVD of Lenny Dee in "Ride in a pink car"!

played great right off the bat ! Thank you so much !Wish you could send me a whole CD of you at your white B-3000 playing all those Lenny Dee music !! Then I can start my Ray Willetts collection !Mark in galena , Il
