  • @FatBeatsHipHop He shouldnt be complaining? He has a passion for real rap, that has a meaning or moral behind it....apparently you havent noticed the transition when we went into the 2000's the bullshit fucking candy ass cookie cutter beats, no talent auto tune shit lyrics took over. Hip Hop and rap will never be the same, its dead and gone with all these money hungry no talent assholes. Why shouldnt he complain the mainstream killed music and its upsetting is it not?

  • Rap is not dead, its just sick, lets get the meds ready

  • This is why *Scarface* didn't Drop an CD this Dec 4Th...:)

    I Feel ya !!

    keyz-

  • really

  • @MistaKilluminati7 fair enough, god bless

  • @MistaKilluminati7 ..from the era where u had to have skills to get a record deal, from the era when hip hop was about props not money, from the era where niggas talked about real life, not make believe shit, so dont tell me hip hop isnt dead cuz u dont know SHIT about hip hop little nigga

  • @MistaKilluminati7 lol its dead mainstream and underground unless u can name 5 current hip hop artists and 5 good songs, even then, its still dead, there may be a few gems in the dirt of hip hop, but that still means its dead, ur statement is like saying a brain dead human is a live, hes breathing, he has a pulse, but hes dead, im from the era when hip hop was alive, when u could turn on the radio and every single song would b high quality...

  • @MistaKilluminati7 u must like garbage mmmm yummy lol

  • @MistaKilluminati7 ur wrong, it is dead

  • He isn't really talking about "rap" he's refering to the "music industry" as a whole. Apparently the changes that have benn occuring in the music industry have been hitting him hard.

  • big smoke san andreas

  • This phone... But as I was saying the game hasn't changed just the way u play it. Storytelling is very much alive, nowaday u just need to do research to find artist. The industry is a machine all about revenue, so stop gaging rap on what the industry gives and actually seek out the good music. Trust me u will become a fan all over again!

  • Stop thinking hiphop is just rap, 1. 2 the has't

  • Truly, for an ol skool cat..It's hard to dig any rapper who was born after 1980. Hip-hop is like American Idol, & these new cats LOVE 2 imitate their icons. So...why purchase cd's when there is no longer much creativity & original voice involved in an album?

  • where ca i find rhe beat...plz anybody

  • thank you internet for owning scarface :)

the white man always wins in the end

  • @Noahproctor70369 Big L died in 1999

  • Its liked this, do not ever let doubt come in to your head.

  • rap died in 1997 when Big L passed away young!!

  • hiphop died on sep 13 1996 R.i.p

  • You know, I grew up on Face and he has earned high respect from me, but this has got to be one of the most ignorant responses I have ever heard Face respond with.

  • Hiphop is the new Real estate.

  • Rockin that S.D. Hat..

  • This Interview Makes Me Realize, HipHop Ain't Shit These Days, Everybody You Talk To Is Either a Fucking "Rapper" or "Producer" and No Real Education, Is Ridiculous.

  • @urdynamix1 I was thinking a similar thought, my man

the controllers of the game screwwed it all up. the old white men fouled rap up... oh yeah and the black sell outs as well. I'm not even going to waste my time going in all the way on this.

  • Whats the instrumental called that is played throughout the vid?

  • JAZZ is great :D

  • Even throughout my teenage years, I NEVER could get into rap. It just NEVER seemed to make any sense to me. What made me start to hate RAP is when kids my age ( as well as some misguided adults ), seemed to try and take away my MOTOWN, my GOSPEL, my JAZZ, my CLASSICAL... Basically anything I cherished musically. Then I'm being told I have to cut all my hair off. And wear those RIDICULOUS fucking box cuts. So that's why I've got such a "FUCK RAP MUSIC" attitude. And all that negative shit.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 I listened to all the above, and it didn't stop me from appreciating some rap, especially in the old school days. But then I was never one of the "cool kids" ...

  • @africkinamerican After doing some thinking, I guess there were A FEW (VERY FEW) rap songs that I did enjoy. But not enough to go and buy it. What I've hated about Rap in the recent past, is the glorification of the worst behaviors of black people, living in the ghetto/hood, thug life, violence, our women treated like mindless sex slaves, and all this over exaggerated male posturing. And then when many rappers get their money, move to the suburbs. After glamorizing the ghetto.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Well, what did you bloody well expect? NO ONE wants to live in the ghetto. Rappers use ghetto experiences as part of their lyrical canvas in addition to using it for street credibility, aka "I lived there and can write from experience, therefore you should take me seriously". What a bunch of shit. When's the last time you heard a good rap BAND? Never. It isn't about the music - it's about the same shit as always: I'm as insecure as it is possible to be; Gaze upon my Hubris.

  • @beeroosterm You have a point.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Rap isn't the only genre that speaks of those things. Listen to metal in the 80s. Glam metal bands always talked about woman just having sex with them and whatnot. Death metal talks about gruesome and horrific images and situations. I know you never said anything regarding metal, but I'm just making a point, because, I myself, listen to metal. I like some rap, though, but I'm pretty picky.

  • i dont fool with rap no more niether. i dont even mess around with it.

  • hes drunk and stoned in this clip I`DIOTS

  • Let's talk in solutions rather than problems. Period. How many people, talented who are talking about something can you hear now because of the way the game has changed. More people have an opportunity to express themselves, share their version of creativity. There is still some talent out there doing it for nothing more than the love of it - and hell yes, we'd love to be able to make a living too. The internet is killing or revolutionizing the game - change is inevitable either way.

  • yeah fuck lil wayne n drake there big ass pussys

  • The motherfucking thing I hate or miss is the Storytelling!

  • @Kranda123

so tru, storytellking ws the best part of rap. now its almost none existant

  • when young money stared dominating the airwaves i quit listening to radio.

  • dats true this new rap shit is dumb ass hell i dont see how ppl got signed so fast they dont talk about shit money, cars, clothes, hoe's,bitch's get tired hearing all dat but now all tha old cat's stop rapping cuz of all this new shit....it will never be tha same back in they day....HIP HOP is dead R.I.P

  • i dont wanna listen to this anymore

  • WOW! I thought I was the only one who felt like Scarface.

  • Scarface has a very good point but it is just not affecting the rap industry it has affected R&B and the DJ business as a whole. There use to be creativity and talent in all 3 industries and know just anybody is getting in the game and technology has made it to where anybody can just get. The problem is just anybody do not belong there. There are certain qualities you need to have to rap, sing or DJ and a lot of the fakes out here today do not posses those qualities and that is why..............

  • cont- we have these non singers with these wach ass songs and these non rappers with these wacks as rap songs and these no djing mf that cannot DJ don't ahve a clue what a bpm or pitch contol or beat juggling is and they fucking up the game as a whole. And technology played a huge part in it. When it became as easy to see at your computer and download music for free and get free dj software to play that killed the DJ game and real dj's along with it and so on for rappers and singers

  • true!

  • Rap is not dead its just playing dead so that it can be buried 6 feet UNDERGROUND

  • The social commentary in Scarface's rap is powerful. He rapped a lot about violence, but in the end, all the "characters" in his raps met a bad end. The message seemed to be: This is the result of urban decay and in the end it leads to disaster. Now all the mainstream rappers seem to be total sellouts bragging about their cars and shit. Lil Wayne probably sips champagne with Rupert Murdoch and real estate moguls at cocktail parties.

  • Rap is all messed up...You got these new age rappers basically advertising and marketing products through their songs...if thats what you have to do to get paid then do so but yet produce songs also that people can relate to...who the fuck can relate to driving a Lamborghini and a Bentley living in a Multi Million Dollar crib ?? Hip Hop was what kept peoples spirit alive through hard times...this shit thats out now i cant believe...smh...let rap kill itself and bring back the old school !!

  • @spinbad302 The corporate masters must truly be pleased with today's sellout rap. They don't like the idea of revolution.

  • @MrBigwong These are the same group of people who stole and raped this land and doing the same to Hip Hop...These are the same group of people who cause destruction to everything they touch...Of course they dont want a revolution...thats why they want to keep people deaf, dumb, and blind !! Give them the bling bling dream is what they want to keep you away from any road of knowledge to power..The only destruction they will cause at the end is to themselves..Hip Hop will always be underground.

  • @MrBigwong Hip Hop started underground on the streets and will always be there in the streets for the people who started it...It wont go away...come on you cant let these same devils who raped this land, took peoples languages and identity turn around and rape and take away our music...This shit they call rap these days aint rap its robbery !! They run the record companies, television, and radio but they cant run the streets and Hip Hop was born and raised on the streets,Hip Hop will rise again.

  • @spinbad302 Totally agree. The sad thing is, though, the talented, socially aware underground rappers -- as well as other artists -- won't ever become rich. Part of the problem is America, to be frank, likes trash.

And don't even get me started on movies...

  • @MrBigwong Your last comment may offend many but i have to agree. Ive known many rappers, DJs, and singers that i would love to make an album but never could..Hip Hop is about having heart in what you do and money wouldnt matter cause you gonna keep doing it broke or rich..and the music stealing didnt start with the internet it started with the 8-track and a record button..Record companies didnt cry back then cause they put out music worth buying !! Ill buy Scarfaces shit it worth it to me !!

  • check out my profile and all da real niggas gon' leave cause dis shit went to hell it's bullshit i agree

  • its like Dope, they got more people selling, then those using

  • 1:27 lmao

  • is scarface missing out on money is lil j fucking my boy face out his doe? i find it hard to believe. FACE STAY STRONG MY NIGGA!

  • I agree lol thanks to jcole i got something new to listen to other than that the 90's was the peak of hip hop it will never be the same again with the internet and youtube people dont need big record labels anymore they can make a bullshit song put it on youtube and become a hit"soulja boy" ect. and the downloading and leaks have rappers making less effort to sell anymore

  • Wtf? why is he talking about rap. theres no such thing as rap any more. shes dead. now there pop. but theres 0% rap n hip hop now:(

  • this shit makes me sad ...fuck pussy 2010 pop

  • Scarface is the man, he so real, rap has evolved into something that is a mixture of rock, pop, and repititive nonsense, hope rap gets back to the conscious state of mind

  • everyone go to page 6 man the argument is hilarious

  • once upon a time....there was a genre called Hip-Hop

  • You kept it real for many years Scarface and I do agree that the internet is fuckin up the rap game and that theirs alot of wack ass m.c's but don't worry we will surmount this because theirs many of us and we got your back Scarface one love.

  • Man, I couldn't agree more. The crap out there now just ain't got that edge like the old school did. LaCoka's about the best to offer in new rap that actually impresses me. *sighs* what a fuckin shame.

  • R.I.P rap thnks lil wayne ,gucci mane ,waka flocka flame

  • @amina70angel P Diddy, 2pac, murder inc and 50 cent were the real people responsible for killing hip hop.

  • @scientific1982

how did pac kill hip hop?

  • @daggakid90 Because he tried to act like a thug when he knew better and he was more intelligent than that. Plus after he died, he had a million clones like ja rule.

  • @scientific1982

i agree with that. but you cannot rule out songs like dear mama, brenda's got a baby, keep ya head up, part time mutha, panther power etc

  • @daggakid90 I agree, he wasnt one dimensional. But people forget how young he was when he died. He was only 25. 25 year olds arent always right or rational about things, but because of his cult of personality people follow him blindly. That thug life legacy is destructive as fuck.

  • @scientific1982

i do agree with you that he acted wild but i disagree he killed hip hop. but its your opinion

  • @scientific1982 nah not 2pac is the most lyrical rapper in the game and p didy is lil bitch he's the one that killed hip hop image really and who cares bout murder inc that was hip hop tragedy just like mc hammer or vanila ice lol

  • @scientific1982 Fuck outta here nigga !! U got a list of people who destroyed hiphop and aint no southern rappers on there? Lol.. P Diddy was never really a serious artist, Pac - u gotta be smokin crack to have Pac on that list, Murder Inc did R&B if anything and 50 Cent did Rap not Hip Hop (Get Rich or Die Tryn was a BIG plus for the rap game). Thats the most bullshit list i ever seen !! Besides HipHop is NOT dead... i hate it when idiots say dat shit. Take some time out n surf YT..

  • @ChompingDiMystik Its dead commercially. No one is buying hip hop records. People still buy rock, electro and pop, but hip hop as a business is on its last legs.

  • @scientific1982 Well THAT i can agree with.. i dont know much about pop n rock but im pretty sure the drop in rap/hiphop album sales has alot to do with the internet and technology on the whole. U couldnt just download a nigga's shit back in the 90's - u had to go out n cop dat shit !! Nowadays gettin a nigga'z lp is as easy as hittin a few keys on ya keyboard. I still think that list of urs is crazy though.. wish u'd explain the logic behind dat shit.

  • @ChompingDiMystik I'd add dipset to my list too for killing ny hip hop. People can download rock and pop too, they're still selling though. Hip hop is past its prime and has been corny for years now. Its just not considered cool anymore and nor should it be. I explained why I think pac had a hand in its downfall a few comments back. Murder inc and puffy turned it into pop music. 50 cent made it into a product instead of art.

  • @scientific1982 I dont think hiphop was ever about being cool - it was more about our way of life n the situations & circumstances surrounding black folk. But the industry became all about entertainment and money nowadays and THAT is when hiphop got overlooked n club music n corny dances took over. I dont blame any artist for the fall of hiphop; I blame the media & record labels. Bullshit music wouldnt be so popular if radio stations didnt play em or if labels never signed wack rappers.

  • @scientific1982 No one on dat list did hiphop - they all did rap/R&B, so thats irrelevant. Rap & R&B began to outshine hiphop somewhere along the line. Its not the artists' fault, its the industry. There are still plenty of good mcs making real hiphop but they never get a deal or a chance to shine, while wack rappers gettin signed and airplay daily... whose fault is that?? & pop/rock listeners are generally better off than hiphop listeners financially, dat explains da difference in album sales.

  • @ChompingDiMystik Everyone on that list is hip hop. Hip hop used to be like punk music, if you did a sprite commercial you sold out and wertent considered cool anymore. Dont get me wrong, still loads of good mcs out there like elzhi, kendrick lamar, black milk,. I've loved hip hop since I was a kid. And I'm Northern irish. Biggie,Nas and ice cube were Gods were I live. The Mcs of today couldnt walk down my road without getting attacked. Its sad because I know what it wasand how poweeful it was.

  • @scientific1982 I dont get what u mean bout hiphop being like punk music or what being cool has to do with anything.. maybe THESE days its about being cool & image n all that crap but back then it was strictly about talent n the love for music. Biggie n them are legends & always will be but i always love hearing new & raw talent. I dont know why people so stuck on past mcs. I still bump alotta Pac, Bone Thugz, n so on but i keep an open mind cuz ive heard some underground catz dat blew me away..

  • @ChompingDiMystik Anyway despite our disagreements, i respect ur opinion cuz u seem like a genuine hiphop lover.. so one luv bruh. Im from the Caribbean n niggaz mainly listen to commercial shit over here but i go the other way. Styles P my favourite mc n D Block/Lox get the most play on my ipod... Dem niggaz aint never sold out !!

  • @ChompingDiMystik When hip hop first came out it was exactly like punk music. If you look back at the history of it, the two scenes were born in the 1970s. People used to say that hip hop wasnt music and they used to say the same thing about punk. Both styles were born in NYC. When I say cool I'm not talking about being trendy, I'm talking about being ture to yourself and not bowing down to outside interests.

  • @ChompingDiMystik Every generation says that shit..when they get to old to party to new music they say "oh we were ONLY about the music back then, not about parties, women, drugs, ect". ..I'm 35 and still listen to new music..Just know this people...There was shitty music in every generation. There will be shitty music in every generation to come. People who love music will find good music and not bitch about every song out there. Why? Because they got better shit to do than be a hater.

  • @SacredSocietyAP Lol, seriously bruh, r u trollin? READ my comment next time before u talk shit. Who the hell am i hating on? If an artist is wack, he's fuckin wack! Thats not hatin, thats keepin it real. First off, im 21 so dat "get too old" shit is irrelevant. & i DO listen to music about party, women n drugs, just not that "my lil sister raps better" Souljah Boi type trash - a rapper gotta bring it on da mic to impress me. & i have NO trouble finding good music bruh.. get ya facts straight

  • @scientific1982 what you smoking lol

    diddy & 50cent yes

  • @amina70angel That rhymes.

  • Rap needs to go away now. Faaaaaar away. Rock n ' Roll needs to wake up from its sleep!

  • @PoutinePete oh theres still queers playin shitty rock music.

  • @Bushman42069 Hahaha: Some of the best Rockers were queer: Freddie Mercury (queen), David Bowie (in the early 70s), Elton John, etc.

  • hip hop R.I.P. 70' - 25 march 1995

  • @juliostevenson thats my birthday u weird ass taco face nigga

  • @juliostevenson whats the significance of march 25 1995?

  • @Darcy81soccer Eazy E's death

  • @juliostevenson no it was march 26 i think

  • why is this so cut up?? id like to see the uncut interview..

  • @MrSunsFan1 What fucking messages are you talking about. Rap NEVER had any meaningful messages behind the music and it's always been about anything material. And rap butchered the english language. Look at how you are talking, it looks like rap has got you sounding ignorant as fuck. Listen to something with a message atleast, pick up some Cannibal Ox, or Aesop <--hip hop has ties back to jazz, blues, bluegrass. Back when people had to hide their political views. Real Hip-Hop is about LIFE.

  • DMX is not even close to the realest rapper. Rap isn't even real anymore. Go pick up some Apathy albums and you will know hip hop trumps rap.

  • @keneeye ok at first I thought you were just another ignorant young'n.. but you make a good point.. it just ain't the same no more.. stupid ass nurseryrhymes with dumbass beats Jedi Mind Tricks, Genelec And Memphis Reigns Immortal Technique etc are a dying breed..but you're getting me wrong.. who in the MAINSTREAM is realer than X tell me that.. you're right.. rap today sucks.. i agree to the fullest.. but you can't deny X is one of the real..

  • @vmastha Sorry for coming at you like that. I see what you mean about "X". I just saw that you wrote that he "IS" the realest rapper, but what you meant is that he is part of that dying breed, which is true. Like old Wu-Tang (Before Gravel Pit) or De La Soul, and Tribe Called Quest. All of these peeps know eachother and used to be a family. It wasn't a competition. Hip Hop doesn't see the difference between East and West. I'll be listening to Hiero one minute then Immortal Tech the next.

  • @vmastha I'm 30 so I was listening to hip hop before all of this napster and internet bullshit where people just got so greedy and its all about how much music you can fit onto your ipod. To get good music I remember having to go to Columbia Square (a one stop shop for knock off shoes, clothing, jewelry, get your hair done, car parts, groceries, and in the back corner CD's and Tapes) I was like one of the only white kids that would go there all the time. I'd pick up one or two Cd's and be stoked

  • It made you appreciate music so much more. and the only other way to find new music was to go to shows. I've been writing graffiti for a while too and I love everything about the Hip Hop culture. I've got a connection to start writing with Zulu Nation. Music isn't something that we just have on in the background, it's a culture, it's a story thats being told, listen to the lyrics carefully and you will really start appreciating music for what it is.

  • I can understand his frustration.

  • HTOWN Skate for life! check out my music videos and subscribe please! -KaeByss

  • We need a Face album right now

  • It`s fake man..

  • How the hell are you going to be mad at people for burning cds when the whole art form is based off of sampling to begin with. Scarface is greedy

  • The industry; man its not the same

The industry; its not a fucking game

The industry; real niggaz is dying to get in

The industry; just define they don't fit in

The industry; ain't what it used to be

The industry; trying to control the way you MC

  • @aluisa25 DMX is one of the realest rappers out there!

  • every rapper that aint sellin records hates rap if u think about it.

  • @fhab525

And the reason why they don't sell records is because the masses have no taste and only buy shit that sounds just like pink plastic with glitter on it looks. Back in the days you could be successful with good music ( not only in rap) but nowadays you gotta make that artificial music because the youth is becoming more and more superficial. So these rappers don't hate rap because they envy successful rappers but just because they can't stand it.

  • All of ya correct in your own ways.Rap just like every other thing in Life is in a cirlce drive. It must get bad to get good, must get up to get down, must get wet to get dry, must get sweet to get sour.and so on and so on.Nothing remains the same, otherwise no progress, but if you are in the right age group you will appreciate the music in which ever level it is

  • The REAL king of the south!!!

  • Brad Jordan, one of the realest OG's. All you youngstas listen to this man. Im glad I grew up when I did.

  • he made great music/. but he doesn't look fun to hang with.. like at alll..bla

  • age dont count in the booth.

  • I think you are simply getting OLD.Rap belongs always to the Young blood

  • @jjkooj naw dawg u wrong there. musik belongs to us all. alot has changed about the quality of the hip hop. its not as good as it used to be. we used to b able to feel the music, to be able to identify with the artist. now its just a good beat and thats all we like about the "song".

  • I feel face, there's so many people burning music and than bullshit rappers coming into the game that its hard for the real niggaz to stay relavite, like Face,Willie D,rappers that's spittin' real shit.Like he said, there's so many other rappers selling that bullshit that its hard for a real nigga to get in where he fit in cause everybody so hooked on that bullshit. Its 2011 so Real Niggaz stand up and let's get back to the real music!!!!!

  • scarface coming from a homeboy from h-town who watched you and the geto boys come up through the ranks back in the day, you're absolutely right dog. todays rap is fucking pure garbage. clowns like flocka waka, plies, souljah boy, gucci mane,oj da juiceman & others have the shittiest beats & pre-school lyrics in the world. there is no more hard work in the music industry. youtube has made these weak motherfuckers stars. it's across the board in r&b,pop, & rap. face you're a legend in the game.

  • Scarface has confirmed what I've been saying about music FOR YEARS!
