This guy has got some serious chops. But to be honest, I'm not a fan of his style. I don't hear much of a groove in any of his drumming. It's like he's just hitting random stuff.
he got his style from colaiuta. vinnie is more unpredictable as here we can see some solid ostinato. but they certainly mastered independence - of words and thoughts i mean. >;p

People like their absolutes. They watch a video like this and go "Thomas Pridgen said he plays whatever, so every drumkit is as good as any other, caring about specs is stupid, etc". The fact is that a bad drummer is a bad drummer on any kit, so yes, what you play is ultimately secondary to how you play, but a good drummer cares about his kit as it defines its sound.
