@Stegs85 How do you know it is "twisting" it? Once I have read ALL OBE and paranormal books on the subject in the whole library, nothing was nearly as practical as Scientology. Through Scientology, everyone may experience OBE, and it may happen in the first courses already, like it happened to me. It is though not a main goal in Scientology, but when the being is spiritually free, which is the goal of Scientology, OBE and such phenomena are daily life of such a person. Daily.

There are many paths to the same goal. But when I can do it within months, within one life time in Scientology, then I'll do. It does work, precisely, if precisely applied. Like when you need to build a house, you take the plan and build it. Scientology is the technology. You build with it what you need.

I think the point they are trying to make is that our consciousness is separate and distinct from our bodies. Therefore, it goes to follow that if we do not need our bodies to travel and be aware, then death of the body is not death of the consciousness. I know it's a leap, but if you read enough about Hypnotic Regression, NDE, and OBEs you will inevitably conclude that the consciousness is ever-present.
