  • Im assuming this piano had alot of loose glue joints since it just fell apart like that? It looks like it may have been a good piano at one point of time I probly would have restored it I seem to be attracted to the basket case pianos

  • @BBgunmaster67 I guess so! You'd have put alot of money into it, but you wouldn't get much for it - even fully restored. Those big ole uprights have little to no resale value. Nobody wants to move them! ...but hey. If you restore it for your own benefit, none of that matters, right?

  • I'd av used a sledge hammer on it.

  • That was sweet... Reminds me of the day I set my piano on fire...

  • Please remember - like cars, pianos may look fine on the outside. That doesn't mean they are fine. This piano was toast. It was destined for the dump. It was not playable nor could it be made so affordably. We don't destroy good pianos. We sell them. :) This video was just for fun since the piano had to be destroyed anyway. ...and this happens to hundreds of pianos per day across the World.

  • @gistpianocenter2 Can't imagine the parade of "You sick bastards" and How-dare-you's you still may get.

  • @bigredjew Yeah. We get some hate mail - mostly from people who didn't read the description or don't understand that (like people) pianos grow old and die. LOL Still, if you're on YouTube, you get hatemail. That's just life. You can't please everybody!

  • @gistpianocenter2 Which pianos do you recommend that are the best? :)

  • @vcamnowaa According to over 98% of the World's performing artists, Steinway & Sons pianos are the best available. ...and you can't buy an artist's soul. If there were a better piano out there, they'd play it!

  • @gistpianocenter2 Ok Thank you I want to make sure I don't run into that issue!

  • well that was both dumb and a wast of money

  • @robinsonhalley66 No it wasn't you can get them off Craigslist for free.

  • @robinsonhalley66 Do you throw garbage away at your house? Some of these old pianos are SO old and broken down that they cost more to fix than they are worth. We do it with cars, appliances, electronics - all kinds of METAL products. Doesn't it make sense that wood products would have life spans too?

  • There are people with tremendous desire for a piano for their own, but no money...

  • That looked like a pretty good upright. It had a full harp that takes up the full soundboard.

  • Perfect Pitch

  • i can think of something worse than dumping a piano . a dumb pearson having a hunk of junk piano in their home and thinking its worth something lmfao , when i go and buy pianos i have to tell people all the time that old means old when it comes to a over the hill piano ,the only thing you can do with them is dump them or gut them and make a really cool computer desk out of them

  • We did it to make dumping the piano much easier. They are extremely heavy and when they get that old, you can't do anything with them except dump them. (The wood ages and becomes unusable - pianos have a limited life span. Some can be rebuilt, but most aren't worth it.).

We just happened to film it and put it up. Some people find it entertaining and some don't. That's the nature of YouTube. ;)

    Thanks for watching!

  • you did this to get what? less than 900 views 5 dislikes and wasted an expensive piano.

  • lol!!!!!!

  • lol
