The story mode in the console versions of the sims was the best thing about it. They need to bring that back into the new games, maybe even on PC.

I used to play this game on my gamecube back in 2003-2004, then The Sims 2 came out and i played it all day long for a year on pc, then me and my brother was gonna buy wii so we had to sell some gamecube games to afford it, and i fucking picked this one :( Stupid me i could do anything to get it back... wish i now have! And i have all my old characters and shit, mail me if you wanna see some gameplay with me on this game!

when i was playing this game, i made my sim, and when i made my girl sim, this guy wanted to kiss me in the club, so then i kept running away. same when i made my cat a sim, Candy wanted to kiss him, so i kept making him run away. aahhh, memories...

on the ps2 (i don't know if its all the game systems) if you go to mimi's place at at about 10:00pm (or 11:00 i can't remember) The bus for your job will arrive about an hour later. if you hop on the bus and go to work you can get promoted. I have no clue wether its just my game or if its a glich or something, but i thought it was really cool.

For PS2, press START on a controller in port 2. It is great fun for Bust Out mode, me and my friend play it at the same(ish) career. You can trade things, give things and share things between each other. I also reccomend a memory card for port 2 aswell.

A tip for everyone... in "moms" hosue you will never get sleepy and all you will need to do is eat pee and do somthing fun. you can easily max all your stats here extrememly quickly. so dont get a job... raise all stats first.
