Listened to that album so much I wore out the vinyl way back in the mid seventies. Perhaps one of the best songs written and sung by that band. Christen McVee sang it originally but not sure if she wrote it. Think Mick Fleetwood wrote most of the lyrics or Lindsey Buckingham also a great talent. Or Stevie Nicks may have wrote since the song has a female touch

Songbird was written by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac and released in 1977 with their Grammy Award album "Rumours". This song is beautiful folks and making comparisons here only demeans that beauty. Eva Cassidy’s 1998 version is beautiful but so is Christine McVie’s original version, and also that of All Angels, Haley Westenra, and yes Glee too. Leave the hateful comparisons out and just enjoy the beauty that is Songbird no matter who does it.
