Weird, i was hoping the intense smoke (from Dead Center, the burning house) was a particle effect - Can't seem to find a way to re-create that epic fire/smoke, Help anyone?

@Galantirr Not sure the one you mean, if it was in the skybox it would be the wrong size for regular use. An env_smokestack can be used for simple particles - I think that's the one that's used in l4d2 but it has been a while :p The lighting affects particles too so make sure to test it in mat_fullbright mode and with various levels of light.

L4D2 Authoring Tool's, u can download Authoring Tools at steam's tool's.

And when u start hammer, it take's while.

About time someone posted these. The particle browser seems to be broken, or that's just me. Thank you.

You have to open pak01_dir.vpk with Gfcscape, and extract the particles folder into the empty particle folder game folder to see the particles in the particle browser.
