The day was overcast and we used a canon clash in the small softbox to light the model. There were no camera tricks, the shot was done exactly as it was represented.

I'm confused...

How can you overpower the light outside with a little hotshoe (diffused!) flash like this ? In this vid, it seems you're using big heads (or monos) inside, and 1 teeny tiny strobe outside when you've got a lot of ambient to compete with.

This is not a flame or a criticism, I'm just interested in what's going on. Seems a bit unattainable/ counterintuitive.
