It amazes me how many people are simply calling Terry Gross "the interviewer". You're talking about one of the most accomplish and respected interviewers and writers in the country and one of the most recognized voices on radio today. She's done some of the most interesting, honest and compelling interviews with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, literature, music, you name it. If you had heard her interviews before, knew her style, knew her stories, you wouldn't even suggest she was bad.
I started off hating him for that "gentile mouth" comment but the "open arms/open legs" thing was hilarious, what a silly cow getting offended after asking him about his fucking cod-piece.
i bet when your mother saw a bunch of "gentiles" tearing down the nazi's death camps and saving her from certain inglorious death she was all smile... and I bet she was even happier when we, the gentiles, gave back to your historically laughable and weak people their shitty stolen piece of desert.
I really enjoy how Terry is so cool and just sticks to her interview, allowing Gene to do what he does best - make himself look like a gigantic asshole. What's striking is how hypocritical Gene is. First, he states that he formed KISS "to be the band I never saw" - big show, costumes, blah, blah, blah. Then he says that the ONLY reason ANYONE ever forms a band is to attract the opposite sex. As usual, Gene is talking out of his asshole and what comes out is gross and stinky.
I just listened to Terry's interview with Trent Reznor, where she kind of ribs him for being a musical geek in high school. She calls him Mr. Seventy-Six Trombones and he laughs it off, because he's actually cool and doesn't have anything to prove. Not the case here. Man, is this guy defensive and hostile from the get-go.

I met Mr. Simmons in the Chicago airport back in 2005. He was the only other person in the waiting area with me for a couple of hours. He was perfectly polite. I'm a guy, not a hot chick.

I met Mr. Simmons in the Chicago airport back in 2005. He was the only other person in the waiting area with me for a couple of hours. He could see I recognized him, but he looked tired and like he didn't want to be bothered, so I didn't say anything. After a while, he smiled, introduced himself and said hello. He was perfectly polite. I'm a guy, not a hot chick.
So I guess a lot of what we hear here is professional attitude. He does come across as defensive here.

It is unfortunate that Gene Simmons could not understand nor respect the forum that Terry Gross provided him to express his considerable intellect. Instead of the insults, he really should have enjoyed the opportunity to reach people who otherwise dismiss the vacuousness of the career he made for himself. Part 3 of the interview was great, because he moved on from the insults. Why the waste of time?
