At 3:50 Go right to the dead tree with Gamble Game inside. But the hidden wall above it leads to Blue Ring (250 Rubies). I suggest you to play gamble where the spiders nearby (at beginning) to earn up to 255 Rubies. That's how I earn more Rubies much faster by saving the game without losing some Rubies. Filthy Rich!
How to save the game? First, press START. Then use Controller #2, press and hold UP and press A button to bring up "CONTINUE", "SAVE" and "RETRY".
danny66442200 - Quest II is more challenging but Quest I is the real experience imo. On Quest II after finishing the third dungeon, that's where people start to give up since the game cranks up the difficulty and only the persistant survive.
I actually finished BOTH quests! Get this, I did it all 20 years ago! No such thing as YouTube assistance or any internet for that matter. Ask me how I did it.....I couldn't tell ya. LOL I recently bought a refurbished NES and Zelda looks good in HD! I just completed the first quest last night, and now I'm attacking the 2nd. But you're right...2nd quest is very difficult and I'm sitting here wondering how the hell I did it 20 years ago.
Is there any way to go back to quest 1 with all my stuff back or am I screwed? I hit start because I thought it would make my file 3 second quest and my first would stay the same.
Once you complete the game (either quest) you can't begin another game with your stuff from your last playthrough. If you beat the game the first time your save file will automatically be set up for Quest II and once you beat that it will stay on Quest II. The only way to play the first quest is to make a new save file.
when i was a kid, i found that was so mysterious when all the things changed and the map just looked like the same. And it left me a unfinished task in my childhood because I had not finished the second quest. Thanks for the video.
3:the most dangerous foe (blue wizzrobes, blue bubbles, etc) come earlier in the game.
4:the dungeon layouts are completely different.
5:illusions,something new to 2nd quest, they look completely like normal walls but link can pass through it making it hard to tell what direction to go, they appear in all dungeons after lvl 1.
6: bosses that are common foes appear in most dungeons.
has the location of any secret heart containers changed in the second quest? usualy i can get three heart containers before even going to the first temple but now i tried to get the first one with a bomb and no door appeared.
Only one heart container (in Quest II) is in the same location as the first Quest, which is the one that requires the stepladder. The remaining 4 are all in different locations. You can only get 1 right away (the graveyard), the rest require dungeon items.
ye at first i didn't know you had 2 hold reset so i turned it off and boom i was liek wtf wheres myy save file ?? so i threw my cat out the window because i was so mad!
The first thing that I did right after I got my sword in the beginning of the second quest was go into the first dungeon to get the boomerang to make battles easier and get rupees when they are out of reach normally outside of the dungeons. You go into the first dungeon and go into the room to the right. You have to either get the boomerang from one of the enemies or kill all the enemies to get it. (The enemies are all Red Goriyas which throw boomerangs and each take three hits to defeat)
Hey, I have this game on my Wii, and it tells me after saving to hold reset while pushing power to turn it off.. Why do I have to do this? Do you need to do it on Wii?
The Legend of Zelda on the NES required to you hold the reset button as you turn of the power, this is how the game data would be saved on the battery back in the cartridge, Tecmo Super Bowl does this as well if you've ever played that.
As for the Wii, I don't have one so I can't really say how it saves, but I do I have a PS3 and X360 so I'm guessing the Wii saves the Zelda game data on it's hard drive or memory unit.
Virtual console version is an emulation, messege was kept in I guess.
No. That was just for the NES version. I think it had something to do with the batteries in the cartridge, or saving, or something like that.
However, with the Wii, that is not necessary, because it saves data to the hard drive. Also, unlike the NES version, the Wii version will save your place. Essentially, the game won't even know it was ever shut off.
"quest II is no joke" I just found that out the hard way, and now I know why, you got all kinds of goods before entering the first dungeon, I just entered the first dungeon (and died... =()
In this walkthrough I get all the items and quick as I can. I don't wanna spoil anything but Level 2 in Quest II is located where you buy something very useful from a merchant in Quest I. Check it out.
Im using (x,y axis to describe where it is on the map). (1,1 being the very far right corner when you start) you will go to (4,5) for the 2nd dungeon!

It says in the thingy that you got a heart container and power braclet. Where?
MrDancingJoe 7 months ago
@MrDancingJoe The heart container is in the Graveyard at the top left screen and the power bracelet in the same location as in the first quest.

Is there even really any purpose to the second quest, or is it just there to challenge yourself?

You don't have to beat the 1st quest in order to play the 2nd quest. Just name your file Zelda!

reasons why 2nd quest is harder
1:all items have been switched around.
2:finding dungeons is WAY harder.
3:the most dangerous foe (blue wizzrobes, blue bubbles, etc) come earlier in the game.
4:the dungeon layouts are completely different.
5:illusions,something new to 2nd quest, they look completely like normal walls but link can pass through it making it hard to tell what direction to go, they appear in all dungeons after lvl 1.

whats the different of the 2nd quest and the 1st quest?

The second Quest is a remixed quest where most of the stuff is changed, and the difficulty of the quest is much higher.
