yea, I gotta a lot of respect for reveal cos during early 2000s he was one of the dudes that set the standards for breakin on a international level...freestyle session 5!- he was the man. Now every1 today has got better n uses moves that he popularised a lot back then..like inverts n nifty flows..now everyones got em! but reveal is still a beast.
I noticed reveal had longer sets as well. Mouse sets were short and sweet as the saying goes. Reveal finishes his set only to get challenged with a shorter set not giving him enough time to catch his breath for his next throw down while Mouse is chillin.
naw im just sayin for this battle..his sets weren't that good..at the beginnin they were coo but then after that..he was just kinda borin then he'd hit a nice blow up at the end..not sayin nothin about his experience..
It wasn't boring, for those who know exactly what he's doing in detail, even noticing the way and angle or circular half circular motion a bboy makes in one part of a sweep or step in footwork, when you get to that point in bboying, that's when you appreciate the details more.
Reveal's stuff may not have been big in blowups all over the place, but it was smooth throughout and that's his style.
oo man..holyfire found one of my comments... i knew you would eventually...but naw it's just i guess i aint there yet..cuz it was maddd borin.. it's just kinda part of me..im never gonna like slow paced bboyin..i like beat hitters or power heads...nothin inbetween..just me..you can be what you wanna be
lol, I'm not following you around, I just go around to surf bboy vids to watch, and I read comments, and reply to the ones I usually disagree with haha.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i think the only problem i have with reveal is just that his style seem soooo unorthodox in a weird way..it looks like his tops are kinda noobyish and he hasn't let loose and started flowin yet...and i watch certain people like born and stuff..and they just completely flow and take you with them on their moves...so thas the only thing that i can see bad about him in my eyes...
iight...well if you gone be the one to do it..then come do it...gone be kinda hard to find me where i live at lol...but iight...i can have my own opinion about anything...sorry to tell you that homie...but i do live in america and i got a keyboard and the internet...this is the comment section.. remember that...
What do you think about Kmel's breaking? There used to be a big controversy, that Reveal bit Kmel's style and moves, and Reveal admitted, Kmel was a big influence on him. If you watch Kmel's footwork not now, but back like in his battle with Ivan, it looks the same as Reveal's footwork.
That's why Reveal and Kmel battled in Who can roast the most 5, and it was all kool and hugs after, but it was fun to watch.
well...i dk...back then...i haven't really seen any of the videos...but if it looked exactly like reveals...then i guess i dont like it that much...it's just my personal preference..you like that style..and i like power and style.. cuz it's just tight to me...i think it's easier to have footwork like reveals so it's not sooo appealin to me... it doesn't seem like he was hittin beats on his tops so yeah...anybody could do that..
He was perfectly on beat with his toprocks, nd his footwork is not easy, try to make it that buttery and water like like that. It's not as stiff and brute as a lot of other bboys, so you don't get that oomph feeling, unless you recognize that he's intentionally making it done in a finesse type way.
I don't know what you mean by you liking power and style, in comparison to reveal, because
reveal can do all of the power moves. I've seen him do multiple airtracks in person when I met him, 1990's, 2000's, flares, windmills, halos, everything. Mouse here did well, clean, but, all of his moves are things everyone else has already done, and are pretty unoriginal. Even his toprocks and footworks, are clean, but very unoriginal and too textbook. Reveal puts more originality
in to his overall movements, and as for moves, he was one of the first doing those moves, that bboys of today do as foundation.
You're saying it's about your opinion, but then you say you think it's "easy" to do? You're making now a claim not of opinion, but of fact on the level of difficulty it actually takes in reality. Try and do footwork like his. You dont' recognize, every angle and bend of his leg, is in perfect form,
and flows nicely, but you don't recognize the angles and exact positions he's putting in every single step, which is why you don't appreciate it.
If you say it's your opinion that you don't like it, that's one thing, but to say it's easy, is not opinion, you're saying "it is easy" which is a statement of absolutes on the human anatomy.
it's all good i'll live...but i guess his style just doesn't appeal to me...but i was kinda stupid to say it's easy cuz i've never tried to immitate it and im never gonna do that..but what you said is completely true.. those are two different statements that i said..so i'll take back the easy part..i'll just say that what he was doin in this battle didn't appeal to me as much as lets say physicx doin a fat elbow spin or somethin.. thas all..he's good..mb on my comment
cool cool. Actually, you know that footwork style reveal is doing, is actually kmel's old footwork style back in the 90's. Kmel used to footwork like that, like if you watch him battle Ivan. Kmel is reveal's main influence, so much so, there was controversy about him biting, so Kmel battled him in Who can roast the most back in 2001 or 02, saying Reveal was doing all of his moves. But now they're kool I think haha.
i wouldnt say its Kmels, its more Boogie brats style, because megus, mouse and dynamo have the same approach to footwork as reveal does, especially dynamo.
I respect him, and if you look at the old comments on here, you'll see I was defending him while some other guys were saying he was "too slow" or not good.
The comment you're talking about, I'm not dissing him. I just talked about the whole
? That's exactly what I'm saying you idiot. This ENTIRE time I've been saying Reveal is amazing. All I said was that in the past, people accused him of biting Kmel. Did I say he bit Kmel? No. I was merely stating what people used to say way back in the day, I NEVER once said I agreed with that accusation you idiot.
kmel controversy where people said Reveal bit kmel, but I never said Reveal bit Kmel, I just stated what people used to say back in the day, I NOT ONCE agreed with those statements, I just stated a fact that people used to say that, Kmel himself used to say it, and Reveal himself said Kmel influenced his style a great deal.
statements, I know Reveal has innovated and influenced majority of the bboys worldwide.
There was no diss from me, and it's better you open your eyes and not misread something that isn't there. I respect Reveal and I DO NOT think he is a biter.
I met him myself and he's a really down to earth nice guy, who was willing to talk to anyone regardless of his legendary status.
In the interview beforehand, Kmel goes, "Imma have to battle this fool ReSTEAL, I mean..Reveal."
Haha.
Naw, but I guess I like Reveal's style, because it was during that generation, in about 2003ish, that I got re-dedicated to breaking, and all the videos out at the time, were of bboys like Reveal, Crumbs, etc. I remember Reveal came to an event in Hawaii, not to compete, but just to have a solo time for us to watch.
you're a douchebag. reveal's sets were straight flow. like you said, you're not there yet, so you're not going to understand how complex his movements are. he's 20 times more advanced than a typical bboy. you just don't understand.
w/e i dont have to agree with whatever your opinion is...thas the point of this commentin section homie...so stop bein all butthurt...i think somethin so i post it...somethin about the video homie...not hatin on somebody elses knowledge of bboyin

I've always been the biggest Reveal fan.. but I gotta say, he looked pretty worn out in this one. Aside from his first set, he just had no 'oomph'.
Not sure who officially won, but Mouse outdanced him, footwork, and just overall energy and variety
