No such thing as a sloppy painter. I see more perfection in individualism than an artist who strives for perfection. Photoshop is a great program for art, but it's cheating really. It's much more difficult to paint for real.

You're right, it is. It is much easier to paint in Photoshop. Regardless, any artist has to have a vision before any drawing or painting. The hard part is carrying out that vision. Sometimes I suck at it, and sometimes it comes out okay. Same with painting of any kind... :)

Na, mate. This one is excellent. It's just with PS, you dont need to wait on paint to dry. If you make a mistake, it can be corrected easily. Plus you can go back into former layers and correct mistakes within them. Also certain effects are made stupidly easy due to the program's brushes, working in high resolutions and such. I love working with PS, but it is more of a test to work with real paint. PS is great for illustration work for posters and the like.

I agree. I did an oil painting of an underwater dragon and a mermaid, and it took about a month to complete, and I wasn't satisfied with it half as much as I would have been if I'd done it in Photoshop. It makes it 100x easier than working with paint.

Anyway! I loved watching this.

People will say that these kinds of paintings are just overpainted photos, it's good to see artwork like this actually being drawn, so you can show them how much effort and skill it takes.

On a personal note I'm jealous of how well you can get the specular highlights on skin. I always have trouble with that ^^;
