  • Great lesson bro! I always get alot out of you lessons man well done and Thank you

  • I love you. This is perfect help!

  • Thank you for elaborating on theory and explaining "WHY" and not just "how." Dissecting the chords note-by-note really helps everything make sense.

  • you're the best dude...sick tats too

  • What is the tuning??

  • @Sup3rXander standard

  • I can sing great, and I can play guitar just fine, but I have trouble lining them both up :/ any suggestions?

  • @csm23232

Parctice, Practice. Practiice. There´s no secret formula.

  • @csm23232 It's all about rhythm.. Try this and see if it helps. Find a note or chord of the song that you're playing. Memorize what word falls into that chord. For ex. John Mayers , "Daughter" ... (Bm7add4) I know a girl(Em7) .. Those are the chords and what word comes after the chord.. Basically , you have to find the rhythm. Hope that helps.

  • this is a fantastic tutorial. you actually clearly teach us how to play it, unlike many of the tutorials out there

Have you heard the L.A. version he did live with Robbie McIntosh on dobro? John made a cool little change to the bridge where he goes to a Bbdim after the A13. It sounds great!

Guitar tutorials like this really help those musicians with very little time but need to rush studying songs!

    Kudos bro!

  • is there an easier chords for beginners:) thanks!

  • Dude WTF!!!! Get this crap of of here! Learn to play chords first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you set up a video to teach us how to play a song when you can't even changed chords correctly!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the chords come from his background in jazz. he went to Berklee School of music and that is where he most likely learned them

  • Wow ... beautiful song, beautiful chords ... good instruction ... thanks!!!

  • the second verse is very confusing for me...

  • thank you thank you thank you

  • @xlovepianox i agree!!!

  • Awesome tutorial man.

  • Other way to play it, Bmin7 - Emin- A - D

  • like frank zappa said "shut up and play your guitar"

  • if you cant figure out these chords, you should consider learning some others.........open chords are very basic. practice practice practice

  • Thank you so much, the strumming is the biggest part I have figuring out when I have never played before, so when people assume that I can just listen and figure it out, I can't. So thank you sir.

  • nice!

  • GREAT JOB!!

Thanks you so much for taking your time to do this

  • if you have any experience at all, this is a great instructional. get over it

  • lol why do you have such a problem with what i said? maybe you're the one that needs to get over it.

  • still dont know where john mayer comes up with all these different chords, they sound really good though

  • @dudeguy242 I think he just does eenie meenie with the strings and frets

  • @dudeguy242 He doesn't come up with them.... they already existed. It's like saying, "where did he come up with that new number". Granted... it's a killer chord progressions, killer lyrics, awesome melody, he has a great voice and over all vibe is sick...

  • @dudeguy242 it's all about knowing the notes that you must use to form the chord that you want and most of the chords that he uses are can be seen in jazz a lot.

  • @dudeguy242 Jazz! ;-)

  • awsome lesson bro thanks for the post

  • haha awesome

"one two trippelet...one two trippelet" sounds like a line from a rap-song. good stuff.
