  • UPDATE: Long story short.... I bought a new engine, and new carbs. What I discovered is a) this noise is normal, and b) I wasted $1,000.

  • I've ruled out the CCT. I installed an aftermarket, manually adjusted CCT, and can hear the CC slapping cease as I tighten it. The noise in this video is [mostly] on the other side of the engine. It may not be as obvious in the recording, but in person there is a difference in the tonal quallity of this noise, and the CC slapping. My gut tells me it is a valve issue.... hopefully just built-up carbon deposits.

Yes, I know Ninjette well. I have a thread and link to this video over there.

  • I'm pretty sure its just the cam chain tensioner thing lol. It's called the "Kawi tick" mine does it and its just normal. i think they all do it eventually its nothing bad really. If you haven't already check out ninjette (dot) net, its a really friendly site for us ninjette owners and there's a lot of people that will help you with ANYTHING you ask about

    ;)
