@amcmillan2008 I have planned a trip to pass the Morganza spillway next week. I may put together another video later this week if there are any changes.
Like your video & audio set up. Really paying attention to your video. Week form today we will be headed for the Natchez Trace. I see in your video the waters are high where you’re at now. I think the day we make Natchez it is suppose to crest there in Natchez.
@motorcyclefreedom Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I can't wait to see what you come up with in Natchez during the cresting period. We are headed past the Morganza spillway next week on our way to Alexandria for a motormaids event. I will make sure to have my camera running while we pass the spillway.
@akrackenberger Thank you...had to go back to a full face helmet and set up a separate audio set-up to get it. I am looking to get a better microphone.
@rynoride It is really hard to image that people usually walk their dogs on the riverside of the levee. There is usually ample clearing for kids to play and people to fish. All the animals that live on that side of the levee are now coming into the neighborhoods. I have NEVER seen this in my life. Yes, you said it best.....Crazy.
@aerogirl076 WOW! That is just straight up amazing. I live in AZ, so flooding to me is pretty foreign. I work in a reservations department for houseboats and national park lodging (like the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, etc.) and I am finding hundreds of people cancelling their reservations because they are stuck at home or not at their home at all due to the flooding. Has this been issued a state of emergency yet by the Pres.?
@rynoride The effects are far spread, so many have already flooded. The government is pretty good at issuing states of emergencies after Katrina...they cannot issue any goods or funds until it is declared. They actually declare the state of emergency if it appears the scenario will play out....the state of emergency is in effect for the areas that will be affected by the Morganza spillway being opened and that will only open per a trigger flow volume on the river which is expected.
