The tempo is supposed to be Allegro scherzando, roughly translated to happily and quickly. This is more like....well.....

She's putting a staccato on measures 7, 15, and a couple others. That is why it sounds funny.

Better slow and correct than fast and wrong. But you should try to increase your speed, though. It's MUCH too slow.
