I love seeing how other people pictured the songs. I never saw this as a Mal/Inara song. I always imagined it was Jayne's mom singing about her son who left home. It's fun to see someone else's interpretation tho.

This song is beautiful and fits nicely with Firefly. The part at around 3:29 where they start showing the space battle/chase from serenity always gives me goosebumps. Again beautiful song.

This is my new favorite song! Really well-done video. I especially like the juxtaposition of Wash flying versus Mal and Inara dancing. I've always thought a good flight should be like a dance in the clouds.

@thenepol The song was actually written for the series. It's possible to interpret "in the black" to mean "out of debt," the economic meaning, but like "It was Good for You, Too," this is actually a Firefly filk. Lucky you, finding out about such an incredible series by chance!
