My grandparents ( and parents ) are both pure (muslim) Bugis ( except on dad side he's mixed with Chinese heritage) and i am keen on learning my own culture. My grandparents migrated to Malaysia to do business and settled down there before moving to Singapore.
Would like to say , thank you for all the videos on Bugis Culture and yes , i am very and highly proud of my wonderful and colorful culture.
Great Video! Being bugis but born n raised in Australia, I was quite embarrassed that I had no idea how to wear baju bodo. However, this video gave me great insight into it all! Thanks again!!
You most welcome,:-). The men usually not pretty much complicated than the women. But,If we make a compare, Javanese and Sundanese traditional clothes for the men more have many features than Bugis-Makassar men clothes. For the colors, my tribes believes the colors like red, yellow, green, and also blue have a spiritual things, if you believe that.;-)
