Your doing it wrong first of all you need to keep your right arm still and swing the auger with your left. Not both at the same time.

@Cruzinon22s Nope, wrong. Nils and the other euro brands have a much better design than the american hand augers, they allow you to use both hands in unison. Much more efficient.

Bought the Nils 6" this year . Cuts like a dream. Could have gone with the 8" If i'd known how easy this thing cuts though the ice.

The Nova should be available in the US and try to get a larger dealer network in the US for the Mora (Swedish) ice augers.

Just a month after posting that I bought a Nils 4.5". Got it half off so I bought two! Works soooo nice, just like in this video except quicker since its smaller. Definitely get one of the foreign augers from Finland/Sweden

try new blades or resharpen the old ones, it shouldn't just spin

it will cut fine. it has new blades but you have to give it a tiny bit of pressure. i think that is normal though. i was just referring to the cutting ability using only the weight of the auger (no down pressure)

@tainterlakeisgreen sounds like the blade pitch is off...if it cuts fine the pitch might need to be adjusted to get it to bite.

me too...You might have you blades backwards if it is not cutting good..I hade th same problem!!!
