  • Not to sound like a dick but it just seems like it doesn't take any skill whatsoever to play southern style :o

it just seems like they're dancing and doing stick tricks to make the ignorant crowds think that they're good, when all they're really doing is playing simple beats that anybody can play.

  • Comment removed

  • dci is where its at, try lookin into that, please. im not puttin this down though because its got style, but the southern style(thats what this is categorized as btw) is going out of style. just my opinion

  • Its not really technical mainly just for entertainment ie. lots of dances and fancy sticking but it served it's purpose for this event.

  • LMFAO THEY SOUND LIKE A COMMUNITY DRUMLINE, and wtf are those big bases? that is the smallest tolem drums i've seen

  • Nick Cannon does even play a real drum!!!!! we go

  • where in the hell the big bass drums...and it a hot mess...

  • this is absolutely terrible, not good at all. i dont understand how it pleases the crowd.DCI and WGI is the way to go.

  • @dylstick3 it pleases the crowd cause all the crowd knows is dancing and stck tricks they donot know about rudiments and beingperfect. and DCI and WGI snt the only way to go that stuff puts people to sleep although i enjoy all of it. and if they put a DCI band in front of that crowd they would get booed. this is all apart of the black culture this is how we play our instruments and we like entertainment not bordem

  • @TheDragonmaster18 FUCK U IM BLACK AND I LIKE IT EAT A DICK NIGGA

  • @Dboyflame since you black you should know thats how our black marching bands do things. you must be one of those blacks who have forgotten where they come from and let the white folks tell you this type of drumline is not good and this was actually cleaner than most showstyle drumlines

  • @dylstick3 this is probably a different style ur used 2 and n st louis we like this type of drumline im n drumline myself a female drumline captain showstyles r fun2 da n st louis

  • @louietowndiamond i beg to differ beacuse they have alot of corps style bands in that area

  • @camcode11 dude that was clean as it can get cause thats how those types of drumlines suppose to sound the ones that keep it tradional that is

  • WHAT THE F**K .YALL JOKE N RIGHT?

  • this performance go hard in the paint. this is what you call a southern style marching band. its been voted the most entertaining marching stylein america. and for you corps heads, ive seen some corps high schools that were no where as clean as this. * look up lsu neck, then look up southen neck *

  • All together now - It don't mean an thing if it ain't got what? What ain't they got?

  • i see alot of people dont know bout tenor drums.u could get funky with them tenors cuz they the shyt but theirs look kinda funny cuz they need some high steppers on them..thats what.we use in the n.o.(historical black high schools}instead of those clown ass quads....yall high school cats just did a good job

  • yall need to get the fuck outta here! It takes a lot of skill to accomplish this so have a coke and a smile and STFU!

  • i gotta say this is different then what im used to seeing but man it reminds me of my middle school years haha pretty good if u ask me.

  • Comment removed

  • wvallej you obviously don't know anything about urban style of playing. yeah, they're not the best but they're good.

  • Gah some of you guys are pricks. I highly doubt any of you could do better so dont hate on skill.

  • You're right, I couldn't dance around better than these guys. But when it comes to actually playing a drum instead of dancing around with it, that's another story.

The playing is very basic, and there is no real skill at all; any monkey could spin sticks around and dance. There is a lot of raw talent, yes, but no real "skill."

  • lol... the crowd only cheers when they play one note or dont play at all.....says alot about this garbage

  • This garbage would make Nick Cannon cry

  • @mmgilbert433 lick a dick this my ol high school if u bad keep writin on it

  • @mmgilbert433 eat a dick.. i u bada keep writin bout this vid

  • and if those are tenor drums, they look stupid

  • those r chest tenors used for hbcu band ( some )

  • @Kat48 I know, I was joking around. Plus I commented that 3 months ago.

  • this isnt a drumline, this is a clusterfuck of noise

  • Amen

  • @1matlox1 well fuck u then nigga cuz thats my high school pussy

  • @1matlox1 U DONT EVEN KNOW DRUMLINES ITS CALLED R & B AND THE AFRICAN SOUL OF DRUMMING OH IM SOOO SORRY IT WASNT COUNTRY U REDNECK. INSTEAD OF HATIN COMMENT NICELY OR SHUT YO FUCKIN MOUTH U PIECE OF TRASH. BTW IM FROM U CITY.

  • @1matlox1 ALSO ITS ORIGINAL NOT SOME BULL SHIT RADIO MUSIC IN DRUM FORM

  • @1matlox1 this is a drumline. its a southern style drumline. its different from corps style drumming.

  • Awesome

  • that was really really gooooddd especially starting at 1:02 that was amazing lol and the dancing:)

  • 1:01 sounded tight, tenors look stupid.

  • F.U.N.K. Harris Stowe bringin that fire gateway classic so just stay out of our way

  • Harris Stowe is bringin tha noiz. And U-City drumline is aight. But tha Snares still sound shitty. U-City do Harris Stowe a favor, Fix them damn snares they sound throw back Harris Stowe Snares

  • that was pretty good

  • say bruh those r chest tenor drums

  • why are they playing the toms like bass's? makes let look like goofs.. but whatever works? and whoever said white people can't do this..? i can train a monkey to do this

  • some white people can do it (great video)

  • get this crap out of here.

  • @RunikRox123 so why you hating on showstyle bands these guys are so much cleaner than most high school that are corps style bands. this is a southern style marching band a.k.a showbands. showbands have voted as the most enternaing style of marching band in america since the beginning. if you would have an open mind you would that. and as a drummer you should be open minded to all styles of drumming even if its not your style

  • white people would just look stupid doing something as awesome as this

  • bull shit some of them can do it

  • Nice Drumline........ Paxon Drumline Def Row II ..... check this out from 1989 from the sticking to the uniforms we were ahead of our time for a high school band

  • i wonder if anyone there has played anything harder than a diddle

  • @stevenwong10 dude this band is made to entertain the crowd not bore them to death. and you dont have to play hard rudimental shit just to be good and it has been proven multiple times. for example my back in spring of 2009 it was my high school's drumline first year doing winter drumline. there was nothing complicated about their show in fact they came in first place at all of the competitions across texas that year and they're the worst band in houston

  • @TheDragonmaster18 well, im sure it's only a difference in playing style and opinion, just saying..i'd much rather watch DCI and WGI rather than this

  • Dang! Seriously, DANG! Work the drums!

  • 0:32 totally reminded me of drumline the movie

  • big guy....with little drum....0_o

  • these guys are great!

  • 2:54

  • no better band in the St. Louis area, slightly bias U-City C/O 2001 keep it up...

  • this dudes are wack

  • Their really good but it just sounds like a bad song for them. Should be more free and exciting! But their good :D

  • @Aurarine that wasnt a song it was a cadence

  • look at the big guy with the little bass drum

  • its a chest tenor

  • : ) looks funny as hell

  • @arthurxanimal its not a bass drum it a tenor drum. Lots of traditional drumlines have them. look 'em up...

  • @arthurxanimal its a chest tenor not a bass drum most showbands use them

  • wow

  • Those guys are very good with the sticks, Im impress. PEACE!

  • these boys is the smoothest drumline i have seen

  • Im also not a show band kind of person but the snares have same sticking and the playing is pretty solid.

  • fucking amazing visuals

  • sounds like shit

  • tune tha snares

or are dey supose to sound like feild drums??

other than that i love everything

  • @TeJai92 they are suppose to sound like that. these types of drumlines usually tune them like that on purpose. basically gives that old school military sound

  • Thats how the drumline at my school shouldve done it, but the school is too uptight. i love this video.

  • the sweeps at 1:58 were nice

  • i play the drums but im nothing compared to this

  • show style aint really my style, but i like yall snares its rare to find high school show style snare lines clean

  • @nunojac then you need to look at some high school lines like this in georgia, louisiana, and texas

  • i love the breakdown that was hot!

  • Omg! hahaha I love it

  • i love the "breakdown" cadence at 1:00.

    was the shit.

  • world's smallest bass drum... lol

  • im pretty sure they're tenors.

seeing as the bass drums are seperate and in the back.

  • tenors sound like junk though you gotta admit

  • @andrewpoophead its a tenor drum not a brass drum. lol

  • @andrewpoophead its a chest tenor

  • you guys are fabulous!! keep it up...

  • all iheard was flan flam flamity flam flam flam plz learn how to play clean then maybe add some body

  • you remind me of my school

  • pretty good i was impressed

  • I've heard other drumline groups but I have to say that you guys are the best so far that I have seen or heard. Your beats are fantastic and you have the moves to go along with it. GOOD JOB!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

  • that was hard the snare line on point yall niggas tarin it up

  • hold up yall got normandy mess up yes we was small last year but we blowin on all yall niggas and chop out all yall niggas and i heard that soldan quads want to battle so was good im quad captain so if u wat it come get it BEASTMODE AKA SWEEP OR DIE

  • Wear they fRom???,,they pretty kool, them quads need ALOT of work...but over all GOOD!!1

  • snare are dirty as hell and what is up with the bass's and that pritty much off tempo rap beat at 1:05ish. Practice get a new line (equiptment wise) and focus on your tech/sound instead of the tricks

  • u must be one of those dci type punks...that shit was hot!

  • i like dci, but this is grooves as hell

  • Have respect for southern drumlines.

We like our snares to have that low pitched, trashy sound...

So don't even try to talk about the drum's sound's, it is a personal preferance.

  • koo vid!

  • with those type of snares. u cant really tell when ppl fuck up

  • they iight but they aint better than us c-town

  • wow yall suck.

  • At 2:52 is the name of the cadence mambo or mumble?

There is always a huge conflict over the name of this cadence, and I just wanted to be sure...

I personally call is mambo, but if that's wrong feel more than welcome to correct me :P

  • TRASH

  • That was good

  • go u.city we hella tight

  • i love the part of 3:17 it was cool

  • from about 1:05 and on i saw black fire percussions do that...i dk if yall stole or if they did but its the same thing

  • this only makes me hate the drumline movie more

  • hate it.

    that movie was trash.

thats what you and the movie have in common

  • very good point of view :)

  • @jhim767 dude the movie was abouut HBCU bands which have been around longer than that DCI crap.
