About 400 pound maybe higher maybe lower depends where you get it from I picked mine up yesterday!!! So happy with it its a stunning gun! Saving for a scope now haha
Could some one tell me the point of air rifles? they are not powerful enough to be used for home defence, and are single shot... I just don't get the amazement of fireing a pellat which makes a tiny hole and can't kill a fly...
@k12rising I would start by suggesting the right tool for the right job.Airguns are not intended for home defence but they are superb at target competitions/small vermin control. They are often the preferred choice for hunting around livestock due to their light recoil, near silent firing cycle(when suppressed) and low risk of ricochet compared to rimfire or centrefire rifles.Unfortunately, many people consider them nothing more than toys tho I doubt they'd care to be shot with one?.
@k12rising Whilst i certainly don't advocate testing any weapons effectiveness on human subjects, are you referring to the sub 12ft/lb UK spec or FAC rated airguns?.Either way i can assure you, having been shot accidently,in my youth,it's not something i'd ever care to experience again.Ballistics gel offers a safer evaluation for those that are curious.I hunt legal quarry with these weapons and i can assure you, they kill very efficiently.A tiny hole is still a hole,in the right place.
@k12rising If your curiosity is still not satisfied, might i suggest you search for your nearest airgun club and pay them a visit?.I'm sure they would be more than willing to answer any questions you may have and,who knows, you might even like to participate in this fascinating and challenging sport. It teaches much more than hitting targets/controlling vermin.Fieldcraft, safe conduct, self discipline, respect and appreciation of the natural world are just some examples.
@k12rising - Air rifles are much quieter than regular rifles. The guy in the video is not even wearing ear plugs. No way you could do that with a regular rifle (and keep your hearing).
@k12rising You truly are a fuckwit. Instead of posting absolute rubbish on here why not just "Google" air rifles and do a bit of research. Multi-shot rifles are available in all common air gun calibres and all are more than capable of killing small game such as rabbits, pigeons and squirrels and also for vermin such as rats. As for the amazement, visit a club and spend a morning having a go, it's more fun than you'd think. Lastly, air guns fire a pellet, not a pellat!
I find all of these Gun Mart videos very interesting and factual and all, but I have to say, this is the most boring sounding man in the world. It's like he was forced to present these as community service...
Can you let me know about the butt plate on this rifle as its not the same as the basic one on my air arms pro sport I purchased 1 month ago, and if its not standared let me know where you got it so i can fix one to my rifle. Also your stock seems to have a better finish than mine. Thanks
@Pageyindahouse All down to preference i guess. Im an air arms guy through and through (though 99% of my hunting is done with .22LR, .17HMR, .243 and .308 rifles as i usually shoot rabbit and hare with .22LR or .17HMR and deer with .243 or .308 and woodpigeon with my shotguns)..however for air rifle work i use a pro sport , a TX200 HC mkIII and a S510 all the way.....as far as springers go as well, the results of HFT and FT everywhere usually have Air Arms winning. Speaks volumes for me.
@tyshek97 the prosport is a tx with upgraded parts. I struggle to find how the TX is better, The TX is a great gun I have the HC myself. But I would definately go out and get a pro sport as well.
@TheIcoolable You can put a silencer on them. But they have to be made by an independent engineer.I know of such a person very well respected for the work he does on any air rifle that can carry out such a task. When a silencer is fitted they become much less hold sensitive, and people have reported that it totally transforms the rifle in the accuracy stakes.
Why didn't he use a proper, correct hold and have the riflescope properly zeroed instead of trying the gun supported on a cushion. If I was unfamiliar with this rifle I'd not be impressed with the performance he shows here with it. I shoot a TX200 and the Pro Sport is way up there with it. He seems very unprepared for what he is trying to say and demonstrate. Beautiful rifle but poor demonstrator.
@Simona050 Very true. These guns are particularly hold sensitive and you get much better groupings when shooting them using the artillery hold in the FT position. He should be getting one holers at that distance.
@stantheman272 His info is wrong too. The Pro Sport is NOT available for left handed shooters. I'm a lefty and I've written to Air Arms about bringing out a left hand version Pro Sport, as they have with the TX200 series. They replied, saying there are no plans to make it available for chaps like me. A great shame. I'd buy both a .22 and a .177 version today if they did!
@Simona050 Blackpool Air Rifles have just announced that they will be selling left hand Pro sports very soon (see website). But they say that it is only the stock that is left handed and the action remains right handed. What's the point in making a sweeping statement like that. You can buy a left handed stock for a Pro sport anyway.
@stantheman272 Well this is news Stan. 6 months ago Air Arms were saying No! Are they the same stock design though? That's what turned me on to the Pro Sport in the first place. Gotta give BAR a call on this! Cheers for letting me know!
@barrysteenmans The scope looks like a Zos 10-40X50 or something similar. You don't need a dampa mount on rifles like these, they are very mild mannered.I've had a cheap Chinese Leupold copy on mine for about 9 months now without any problems. The only guns that really cause any concern when it comes to scopes are the Theoben Gas ram rifles.
when i purchased my Tx200 some 12 or so years ago i tried very hard to find a ProSport. had i found one it would have been my springer of choice. i feel it has a better balance than the TX
i found on the internet that the velocity of the pro sport with 22 cal is 570-767fps. why does it say 570-767? why not an exact number? is it because it 570 out the box and 767 after tunning?
@Zinaroon yes i get the feeling after the 2nd and 3rd shot he was wondering what was wrong. i will give the them credit for not editing the video. my TX200 will group .15 at 50rds if i do my part.
@Zinaroon I've always wanted this rifle and i think im going to order one in the next week but ive heard several roumors regarding a dodgy screw that comes loose after several cocks!? i was just wondering if they've sorted that with the newer models? cheers.

the Air Arms prosport is without doubt the bets spring rifle ever made nothing
comes close.
it has ben used by some off the best air rifle pros in the world in the past before
pcp taken over. sping heaven.
loads of people are retrning to spring powerd air rifles and i can understand why
they dont come any better than the prosport
masterpiece of engineering.
lets face it it takes a real shooter and marksman to use a springer.

@ButtPlugPooFace difference in FPS is due to caliber .22 and the .177. smaller and lighter is faster and shoots flatter

Hmmm- i would dispute that it's the most attractive rifle- i reckon that honour goes to the BSA Airsporter stutzen or the mk1/ mk2 Airsporter...

You could always blu it yourself if prefered.

The rifle is a lovely piece of kit, but the way the bloke shoots it doesnt do it the right justice.
That rifle is more than capable of making 5p size groups at 30 metres.
