  • Best movie ever - he's so sexy, u know who.

  • Fuck you twlight

  • i remember seeing it 80 years ago..lol

  • excelente una joya del 7 arte laverdadera esencia del vampiro feo aterrador y muy misterioso no el clasico y decadente dracula

  • watch the movie "Shadow of the Vampire" a great hommage at this perfect vampire movie

really "shadow of the Vampire" is a must seen for every nosferatu fan

  • He died in 1936 Max Shreck was his name and yes Edward Cullen is a BITCH !!!!!!! A vampire shouldnt don Us or People magazine covers !!!! LAME Pop culture _ _ _s!!!

  • I love it so much better without music and sound. Makes is so much scarier. Horror movies today are just, tense music slowly getting louder, then immediately stopping, then oh! Someone jumps out of nowhere! Wow I didnt fucking see that coming a hundred miles away.

Horror movies these days abuse music. Which is why they all fucking blow and they're all incredibly generic.

    Long live Nosferatu.

  • lol Edward Cullen sucks. COUNT ORLOK RULES!

  • I ADORE MAx Schreck!! THis IS by far, the most wonderful, creative, goosebump raising, horror vampire film in exisistece!! Everyone does a great job with their characterts, (especially Max Schreck, hehe,). I made a video, if anyone is interested. It is called, Max Schreck is just awesome. Type that in, or MaxSchrecklover. Please link, comment, and rate it if you watch it. I LOVE NOSFERATU!! He rocks!! I love twilghit, but this is better. Sorry.

  • This IS the BEST vampire movie ever!!

  • no sound... great. I know it was a slient film back in 1922 but isn`t there atleast music?

  • they should have used this guy for the leading guy in twilight. XD "ZOMG HIS SOOOO CUTE!"

  • like he'd still be alive

  • This film is more than 80 years old...the actor in Twilight wasn't even born yet!

  • @HOHNancy

dude the parents of the actor in twilight wasn't even born yet.

  • Oh god are people honestly talking about the new-aged fruity sparkle-sunshine vampires? This is Nosferatu, not captain gaytard.

  • FUCK EDWARD CULLEN! This is a REAL vampire xD

  • nah Max Schreck was just so briliant that it was even a movie that was about that subject

  • yay!! someone agrees wiv me!! this puts twilight in the shade!

  • at last! someone else has seen the light! XD

  • sound ?

  • LOL!

  • yes but even in the book series, they talk about how the LEGENDS are always streched. and like anything, when people tell stories about something unusual they have seen....they tend to exaggerate

  • u cant say that because he is the first vampire he is what other vampires should be based on

  • He is not the first vampire. This was just a spin off of the novel Dracula! Dracula isn't even the first literature on vampires. It was a poem written by Polidori called "The Vampyre." The first record of a vampire was a priest who translated the book of Psalms for a Prince. He signed his name as Упирь Лихый (Upir' Likhyi ). Which means something like Wicked Vampire. This is just the first movie on vampires.

  • is the rumor about the woman being dead after the set true?

  • yep there's just some people who don't grasp the concept.

  • typical attitude towards silent movies. If you knew how movies like this affected movie making today, you might appreciate it more.

  • well, then try watching Evil Dead II or Dead Alive, the greatest scary comedies ever.

  • Movies like this you have to actually focus on and pay attention to. If you want a movie to babysit you and give your brain some noise to tune out to, there's tons of movies in the theaters right now for that. Like the punisher or twilight.

  • i think the same thing

  • Don't worry man I getcha. Infact by watching silent movies we're stepping atleast 80 years back in our technological development. It's like trying to teach people shakesperian english

  • I HAVE THIS ON DVD great piece of horror cinema history. its available on FLASHBACK ENTERTAINMENT titled Nosferatu a symphony of horror. well worth owning

  • hay no q vampiro mas feo Dios mio q miedo, prefiero a edward jeje

  • jaja amo esa esena de la pelicula ^^

  • that door ;o

  • Nosferatu is an old name for a vampire and the vampire is Count Orlak.

  • Close but no banana.

He's called Graf Orlock but graf is German for count. There's also no such word as Nosferatu, before Bram Stoker. He got it from Emily Gerard's Land Beyond the Forest, a book about Transylvanian legends. Apparently she heard something like the Greek Nosphorous (plague bringer), or the Romanian necurat/ unclean and nesuferit/insufferable.

  • nosferatu is more than just a vampire its the original breed of vampire

  • really?tell me more please!

  • Bernard J. Taylor turned this movie into a wonderful musical, with performances by some of the greatest stage singers alive today. Some videos showing the songs in the context of this movie have been uploaded on here by sunnysiebahn. For some reason you can't include web addresses in posts, even for youtube, but if you put the name sunnysiebahn in the search bar you should find it.

  • this movie scars the shit outta me

  • They sure don't make them like they used to. Horror movies of today are so dependent on dismemberment now adays.

  • yea max shrek is freaky. when they were filming they picked him for the role because he was arrested before with attacking several men and trying to bite them. I was really surprised because i would think that he would try to do the same when they were filming

  • please tell me how you found this out.

  • how did u find this out?

  • Interesting name you have. Do you really believe that Max didn't exist? Do you think that Shreck was another actor under an assumed name?

  • yes.the whole situation surrounding this movie is somewhat of a question mark..and max shreck just happens to give the single most terrifying vampire performance ever and his last name shreck happens to be German for terror...coincidence?

  • He was a famous german actor.

  • :45-:55 is my favorite clip of ANY villian EVER.

  • yeah cool right?

  • max shrek scares the hell out of me

  • hes coming for you when the lights are out

  • Bela Lugosi's 'Dracula" is(1931)a far better film. To this day people imitate vampires using his famous accent.....truly a testament to the greatness of Bela Lugosi, the best horror movie actor ever.

  • Thanks for respecting my opinion, and of course Nosferatu has its fans as well. Someone correctly pointed out to me that without this movie, there would have never been a Bela Lugosi playing "Dracula."

  • That was an unfair comparison......"Nosferatu" was a SILENT FILM and the 1st screen incarnation of Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula", and by far the best. Lugosi was an excellent Dracula, but this film shows him in a totally different way.....he's not a suave European, but a rat-faced emaciated century old corpse. Its all in the eye of the artist, my friend.

  • I cannot disagree with anything you said. Hey, they were both awesome, weren't they?

  • Hi, plese check out my new vampire-movie "Count of evil". It`s very murnauesque, hope you`ll like it.

  • crazy draculja ;P

  • Some germans have made a none silent version with Klaus Kinski

  • he scares the shit out of me, in a rly good way :] some film maker should make a silent remake of this...hopefully not a famous one, cu they usually masecre things like this.

  • Its not a silent film, it contained music, this one doesn't

  • What is scary if the Mummy (McCain) picks picks Nosferatu ( Giuliani) as his running mate , they will suck the blood and life not just out of the USA but the World . There is an uncanny resemblance to Rudy Giuliani , now that is scary , Dumbo and Darth Beta to the Mummy and Nosferatu . The German one released in late 70's was great .Saw it in NYC and amazingly did not need to read the English subtitles , yes it was Giuliani's first Role .

  • I saw him in Spongebob :P

He was fuckin with the light :3

Kinda funny how he looks :P

  • Yeah me too.

But who was that with the lights. NOSFERATU!

    hahahahah! That is do funny!

  • there is going to be a remake of Nosferatu ein symphonie des grauens(symphony of horror) Starring Mackenzie Crook as nosferatu!

  • I think Ben Kingsley would play a good Nosferatu

  • yeah me too!

  • not really

  • Thanks for posting this, i needed to stay up at night!

  • funny, the first time I heard about him was in that spongebob episode!

  • I had a dream about Nosferatu last night..

    really creepy

  • jesus man, really? tell me more

  • well he kind of forced himself on me sexually. I remember him being rather pointy...

hahaha i woke up really creeped out and just had to look him up

  • he is ugly but he is coolm :-P

  • HAAAAAHA its RUDY GHOULIANI!!!!

  • 00:17 i saw that shadow on my wall last night.

  • jesus man, really? tell me more

  • Definitely one of the best vampire movies ever. Vampires(in my opinion) are meant to be scary, creepy. If vampires were just shooting werewolves or something like that in new movies, it's just like any other action flick!

  • fabuolus.. Max Shrek is the scariest man eveer

  • i agree tell me more

  • ah yes, a timeless classic

  • Like some kind of lucid X-dimensional nightmare, I don't wanna go there.

  • Vraiment stupéfiant!!! Ceux-ci sont les vrais films de l'horreur.... celles qui réussissent à faire mourir tu de la peur avec le silence!!

  • nosferatu is lucifer

  • this is not spam...whoever marked this as spam is gay...it's not spam...wtf

  • Image Entertainment's Nosferatu A Symphony of Horror, or Kino Entertainment's Nosferatu are both good choices when buying this film. They are both digitally remastered and made from new reel-reel transfers. I recommend Kino!

  • Sehr guter Horror Film. Schwarz-Weiss eignet sich dazu am besten!

  • Stimmt. Szenen in schwarz weiß sind immer etwas gruseliger... dann noch extra dunkel. toll

  • the best movie ever

  • movie

  • looks great mivie

  • looovvvee this movie

  • Der beste Film überhaupt...das neue zeugs ist doch alles von der Effekt-Technik überrannt!!Gruselabend...?!Nosferatu reicht!!mehr nich..

  • ooohh this son of a bitch scary (o.O)

  • this is so scary..... i heard about nosferatu on spongbobsqaurepants and came to check it out on here. but ther funny thing was on spongebob they morphed his face into a big grin with eyebrows high up the foredhead. :P

  • i hate it but i love it because he can look at the camera in these creepy ass ways!!!

way scarier than Hollywood's dracula or vampire

  • Nosferatu is actually an amazing film, i've been studying it in media. Just when you realise the deeper meaning in some of the scenes... and the editing is so smart, the way ellen calls to orlock, and he turns around and looks in the direction she was calling to... Amazing film. I really like the music aswell.. shame it's not on this clip :\

  • can you rent, buy this movie at all? i heard it was destroyed a long time ago!!! i'd really like to know!!!

  • Check online , I know you can get it still , I got it at Suncoast video , but any major videostore chain should have it or check Ebay as well

  • You can buy it on dvd in some stores, but its easier to get it on ebay or something like that.

  • I like tuna fish.

  • Very scary vampire movie...

  • that is one of the scenes that gives me nightmares. AAAAAAAAAAAH

  • i know that this film was released in 1922 and that it has a PG Rating but to me, its the creepiest, eery, scary film ever made and thats what i love about it.

  • I find black and white movies scarier for some reason.

  • I love this movie!!!

  • great scene

  • Nosferatu is indeed one of the best but in my books id have to say that "Interview With The Vampire" takes the cake. The movie fit the book so well, it was poetic, the music was beautiful and the way the characters just reach out to u was splendid=)

  • yeah, but the story is more romantic while this is grotesque.

  • What's your point? They're both great.

  • Not really, like Interview with the Vampire just gave too many romance-movie vibes for me to think it was a horror flick.

  • wow, I just realized that I made that first comment 1 year ago. Anyways, sorry (random), ya I see what your saying but I never saw intended to see IWTV as a horror flick, not even the book. Infact that whole romance vibe is what drew me to it in the first place(and I normally HATE romance movies), the fact that something so evil could be so deep and show so much emotion, it was so much more "real" than your typical vampire story. The books are still wayyy better than the movie though.

  • agree with you about the books are better.

  • cool :)

  • By far one of thea coolest silent films aside from Les Vampire...
