  • Look up plunking...google or here on youtube...from some of the stuff I read it kind of sounds like a variation of scrunching but involves a t-shirt...

  • I can wear my hair straight or wavy but I can also get super duper luscious curls ;-) But this kind of diffuser does NOT work for me...I use one that is more of a big bowl with short fingers and upside down ;-) the BEST tips I ever got: never use shampoo on curly hair & to NOT dry your hair with a towel or remove too much water prior to blow drying!!! have it be wet, squeeze/scrunch water out, apply product (Catwalk curl booster rocks!) then dry, takes longer but no friz and AMAZING curls ;-)

  • @wendypape also I never use it on high, med only and never hottest heat, just warm ;-) and I can get 'ringlet' curls using this method and have for years!!

  • Looks the same...

  • This didnt work for me at all, half of my hair is wavy and the other half is almost straight... Maybe im not putting enough product to cover every inch of my hair...? I've had better results Scrunching my hair by hand :S

  • my hair is naturally curly and when i blow-dry it it gets really frizzy, help anybody?

  • i love diffuser but im doing it in other way ,first i start from my roots wich i never touch my hair with my hands ,then rest of hair and im doing it all the time with cold air ,its take a lot time but result is awsome nice shiny curls .

  • What the hell is plunking?! And when you used the diffuser it didn't even touch your hair. The diffuser played no effect...I'm sorry for leaving a bad review but I suggest you watch other videos on how to really use a diffuser.

  • yes a diffuser works! BUT.. I don't let my hair dry completely before using the blow dryer. The hair looks puffy not curly..

  • Holly Hanna!!! The way she diffused is the way I was taught NOT to do it!!! First, plunking is to remove some water, not to let your hair get "totally dry". Then, see how much she is touching her hair before and during diffusing? NO!!! DO NOT TOUCH!

I put my products on soaking wet, flip over and gently scrunch my hair to make some curls form and clump, and while still very wet, I diffuse either still flipped over, or flipped back and side to side. BOMB frizz-free, clumped curls!

  • What's the point of using a blowdryer when your hair is dry..?

  • plunking??

  • thank you!!!(:

  • my hair is like dead straight does a diffuser actually work? because I don't want to waste my money if it doesn't i just want some wave, height just SOMETHING!!! lol you are really pretty by the way :)

  • @morgana262 yess it does work on straight hair to .

  • @morgana262 Diffuser only works for wavy or curly hair. :(

But you're lucky to have dead straight hair! I have wavy hair and I wish it was either very curly, either really straight.

  • holy eyeshadow

  • What's the difference wat products or blow drier you use... your hair still looks nappy in the end.. no offence!

  • so I havee really straight hair , I cant diffuse it ? If I do will it work ?

  • shut upppppp

  • I don't think they seek it at beautychoice any more I cheaked but u can get it at folica for about $40 I think I might get ir

  • Not good, sorry.

  • She should have told you all that it works better with wet hair str8 out of the shower put your product in your hair but not too much or it will weigh your hair down. This video really doesnt show a good before and after..

  • Why are you "drying", dry hair?...

  • Firstl, your hair is not really curly. Second, it doesn't even look good because you did it ALL WRONG.

Your hair has to be completely wet when you diffuse if you want it to dry well. You're getting the triangle effect.

  • what if u don't have curls at all???? then how does the deffuser work to make me have curls??

  • plz reply : does your hair have to be wet or dry !?!

  • @camachobrenda1 She made this video as a demonstration, not as a real-time step by step kind of video.

But the main point : Yes, it has to be wet.

Because honestly, drying your hair which is already dry damages it, or am I wrong?

  • @camachobrenda1 It Has To Be Wet. She Did It All Wrong. but Yea Juss make Sure Its Wet. Or At Least Damp, But NOT Dry.. !! (: HopeFully That Helped. (:

  • so im a little confused should you blot ur hair first to get it somewhat dry and then start diffusing it/?

  • see like her hair is all ppoofy n it wont loook good on me so like if i dont use hair spray or gel or nothing my n i use diffuser my hair looks un comb n rats netty ugh

  • i got ? if i put gel in my hair n then do this would it work like i scrunch my hair n i want it to me more scrunch looking at the top kindish so would aa diffuser help or does my hair just needa be up n i use lil air spray?

  • Thank you so much.

  • so sehe ich aus, wenn ich meine haare gewaschen und nass gekämmt hab -.-

  • plunk?

  • do those products really work? especially on frizz? cause my hair is really frizzy... and the BaByliss hair iron is awesome! all my life ive been trying to find one iron that actually straightens my hair and stays that way and that one does the job, but it fcked up my hair ): my curlies are gone and have to grow my natural hair again...|:

  • And if my diffuser doesn't have "finger" what difference does it make?

  • If you have straight hair, can a diffuser be at any use? Cause it came free with my hair dryer.

  • @julieetran I def think so, I have pin straight hair and the only way I can get my hair 'scrunched', is with of course moose and products, AND a diffuser.

So for straight hair, it can GET your hair curly.

  • Omg...I tried this...my hair is bigger than my head three times.School tomorrow...greattttt.

  • @Sabia1609 You FAIL!

  • @Sabia1609: LOL xD

  • you are wearing to much eye shadow.... its wayy too light for your skin tone

  • DO NOT BLOWDRY YOUR HAIR UP! The hair should be going down the shaft, root to tip.

As far as towel drying your hair goes, never rub the hair between the towel as this causes breakage. Pat dry or set the towel over your hair to help it soak up some of the moisture.

Do let it "plunk," or sit a while to air dry before taking a blowdryer to it.

And if your hair is so freaking fantastic, YOU make a video.

  • your look is like reven ^_^

  • You are all so mean here. Come one. I believe every single person has their own way of doing their curly hair. However, I don't think she should be touting her way for the very reason that everyone has their own detailed way. Oh well . . .

  • I'm pretty sure you made the word "plunk" up. Geezeey! ):

  • shes wrong.... to diffuse hair, u dont scrunch it first... towel dry it, add product then diffuse.. if u scrunch first, its gonna frizz. also, to diffuse, u ALWAYS use high heat, low air setting.. and fyi.. plunking isnt a word.... she doesnt know wut shes talkin about...

  • no u use low heat...

  • @happywaitress You never use a high heat, it can burn your scalp and it doesn't work as well on a high heat.

  • her curls dont even look great...its looks all dry like she just woke up

  • wats "plunking"

  • @via321ful also known as plopping, and it refers to putting the hair up in a specific way. i have a video about it under "curly hair basics" playlist on my profile if you're interested.

  • @via321ful drying yur hair with an old shirt to reduce frizz

  • what's the name of the blowdryer? and where do u get it?

  • I've never heard of plunking? please explain someone?...

  • @nookierealgood she means like scrunching your hair in your hand.

  • what the hell is "plunk"

  • Thanks! This video was very informative.

  • does this work on naturally straight hair?

  • yes it works on naturally straight hair :)

  • i dont think so

  • Thank you for the video ! Now I know how to use that diffuser.

  • dude try bow drying i when ur hair is wet...ull get better curls

  • omg i hope this makes my hair not frizz out anymore wen i scrunch it..because i never had a diffuser before..ima go buy 1!!!!

  • its n ot even volume-y

    are you crazy?

i was really really big hair :[

    uselessss.

  • at least u know wat ur tlking about i just bought a diffuser today but im scared my hair is gonna be one big puff ball

  • Kinda like when you're making mash potato x] x

  • What's plunking?

  • Thank u its picture day and im using this !!!

  • what does "plunk" / "plunking" mean?

  • i wanna know that, too!

  • talk so much lol

    got impatient

  • Comment removed

  • i have naturally straight hair and people have been telling me to get a diffuser to get waves, etc. if i did what she did to my straight hair will i get curls/waves?

  • It mosly works on wavy hair

  • heyy are the big sexy hair products animal tested?

  • I dont mean 2 be rude but, you dont kn ow how to use a diffuser...ur hair pretty much looks the same xcept with more volume, the curls have not become activated at all...dont get me wrong i like this look, its very carrie bradshaw but i think if u had a little more intrest ion ur hair it would b better...consider getting high and low lights so this look wont look jus like a big ball of hair...srry sweetie try again

  • can you get waves to??

  • Yes you can. Mine is naturally wavy, but not the pretty kind and this defines the wave and makes them beautiful, soft, and beachy!

  • To all the ppl who watch this video, try Go Curly! It's incredible, but make sure your hair already holds curls well. This stuff will deifne your curls like no other and leave em oober soft! I got mine at sally's beauty supply!

  • i agree with taran6 i do the same :)

  • it looks the same wtf?

mine pisses me off my hair does, its like her and the top part of my hair is always falt and the bottom is big, i mean wtf its annoying i get so stressed and upset over it i just want to cut it all off

  • i have big curly hair and when you do that with curly hair it makes it FRIZZY when you put your head down so if you have curly hair never do that but if your hair is straight and you want it more messy then go for it..

  • I dont think her hair looks any different then it did at the begginning. I have naturally curly ringlet, and I wash and condition my hair and when still damp i place hair gel in it and scrunch the hair to work the curls and twist sections of it,with my fingers. and then let it air dry for a while (maybe an hour) and then i go and use the difusser just for touch ups. Dont use mouse in curly hair, i find it doesnt give as much shape and definition, using gel is much better.

  • actually, i beg to differ on your opinion with the mousse. i use herbal essences totally twisted mousse to scrunch my hair, and it's awesome for making my curls defined and pretty. gel, i think, makes the hair too crunchy.

that's just my opinion though. and i do agree with you.. her hair looks the same as it did in the beginning.

  • i use the same thing and i love it xD

  • her hairs not even curly =o/

  • what does a difficur do to already super curl hair i usauly let hair dry naturaly an i get pretty good ringlets so what would a diffuser do thats better?

  • I followed step by step what it says on this video, and I'm still getting frizzy curls! I use it low air, high heat and it frizzes my hair =( is that because i use it with damp hair? should I use it with dry hair? I have natural curly hair, not african hair but curly hair.

  • The reason that its frizzy is because its heated. DO NOT USE HEAT! <3 Lol.

  • If u have kinda straight and a little wavy hair, and when u blow dry your hair with a diffuser will your hair get somewhat curly?

  • But if your hair is already naturally curled, then you definately will get better curls than you have with super straight hair.

  • i use tresseme curl definer and muse and i let it air dry and it look good. whenever i blow dry it looks like crap, and arent us curly haired girls not straightening to stay away form the heat, why would we want to use a blow drier then? just let it air dry after you put the products in.

  • i agree - best answer to curly hair, plus curly hair drys quickly anyway cause its dryer

  • i also share your opion my hair looks

pretty darn good when i let dry naturaly

why spent money on a diffuscer with heat damage and everyrthing i don't mind waiting 4 it 2 dry does treseme curl definer mosturise well friends have said its a good product

  • Your hair doesnt even look curly. Thats wavy. Im looking for curly curly.

  • me too

actually Ive never find a true curly ass video :S

    XD

  • same i think curling tongs are the answer maybe after a diffuser

  • this sucks. heat is not good for us curly hair women. it makes hair looke dry, and without life. and it damages it. no matter how good the hair product it (this one sucks, did i say that?!) curly hair sisters, dont use heat, trust me, youll regret it later!

  • Agreed!

I'm a guy with curly hair and too much heat just frizzes it up and makes it look like you say,dry & it loses a lot of it's definition.

  • i never really have a problem with heat. maybe my hair just responds well to it...or its the fact that i live in a very humid climate and moisture will get in my hair no matter what i use lol.

  • her hair looked the same..........

  • hey there! im new to ur vids and just subscribed! loved ur ghd vids too. i was wondering if a diffuser is better used for ppl with naturally straight hair also? will it make a difference?

    thanks!

  • Hey there! I'd also like an answer to this question .. i have naturally short straight hair, but when I let it dry on its own, it picks up a lot of volume. I want to curl it and thought a diffuser would be the asnwer - can I do that w/o any hair products?

    Thanks!

  • Yeah, what is plunking?!!!!

  • what is plunk?

  • Hi, DawnforPursebuzz

Do you recommend getting bangs for curly haired women? and if so which type of bangs are good for curly hair?

    Thanks ^-^

  • side swept bangs are a great idea for curly hair. wid bangs u can part ur hair 2 da side wen styling. over loading on styling products such as gel wen trying to achieve this hairstyle will back fire and ull have strands of curly hair sticking out.

  • hello , i just want to say thank you very much for posting htis video because i have naturally curly hair but its not how i wanted it, its a bit flat so ive just dont this and my hair is gorjous so thank you very much xx

  • I used that hairdryer yesterday and my curls are gorgeous, even after having slept on it.

  • what hair dryer is this????

cuz i have curly hair and i wanna buy one but i dont what to get ... so please help me lol

  • can u let it air dry or sit under a hair dryer without using a diffuser?

  • Finally, I see a difference! Expertvillage pisses me off! Lol. I would use this if my blow dryer didn't freak me out, so I keep heat out of my hair. Very good video though

  • What happen with Expervillage???

  • Their videos are short and the hair looks the same in my opinion. In your video I can see how the diffuser truly works. :)

  • hi there , thx for this tutorial .. i love your lipstick / gloss what shade is it ? and from which brand ?

  • I cant live without my diffuser! Otherwise I look like a wet poodle.

  • hahaha,,,love ur comment about the wet poodle...

  • is ur hair naturally straight?wavy or curly sorry for the dumb question..

  • It's naturally wavy! :)

  • oh cool..cuz i loved how ur hair looked curly..

  • if you don't mind me asking what is your ethnicity? you don't have to answer

  • I'm half Puerto Rican, half European.

  • You are absolutely gorgeous!

    What a great combination!

    =)

  • @DawnforPursebuzz

You know that Europe is not a country right.

  • @DawnforPursebuzz Omg me too!!! My hair is similar to yours though I have a tighter curl.

  • Great video! If you put the diffuser on top of your head and move it slowly in small circles it gives you great lift and volume in the crown area. :)

  • Dawn,

    You are always absolutely beautiful.

    Thank you for this video.

I really need some assistance with exactly how to use a diffuser.

    Great job, as always!

  • oh Thank You, I'm so happy I could help! <3

  • What is "plunking?"

  • Hi, Dawn has another video on how to plunk your hair its called The Art of Plunking. I also use this method for my hair after watching this video and it works great!

  • Your hair looks really good!!!
