Alan White has been in the band a lot longer, and he seems to have have the complete confidence of Jon Anderson. I'll give you that. I just don't like Yes albums after 1974. Why is Alan White always in such a rush?
I think Alan White is less Yes and more Styx. The Mellencamp comparison was a poor one in hindsight. I appreciate your p.o.v. though.
Tho I like Bruford's style over White's... White added a warm sense of commradery to YES as a whole... Its not about kicking ass but about music... and being human - not a competition... Bruford had other ideas after Close to the Edge and felt the need to move on...with Frip and Eno and King Krimson..
Squire did have to adapt to White and said "I learned a lot" Bruford had a bit of a pretentious attitude, whereas White is just a decent humble guy... and just worked out better in the long run
alan white is good playing HIS stuff... but when he tries to play brufford complex songs as close to the edge or heart of the sunrise, it's no the same

I'd love to see Bill Bruford kick Alan White's ass celebrity death match style. You don't see Max Weinberg pretending to play prog. Alan White ought to be playing with John Cougar Mellencamp or something. Alan White...been pissing me off for years. Wot aboot Carl Palmer?
It's at a good tempo. Quite often it could be played too fast (probably thanks to adrenaline) The real brass mixed in too, works well. Emerson, Squier, White & Kirk, does have a ring to it.
Ahmet brought MANY a great band to the light. He will be sorely missed.

Sorry, I was trying to save battery power for the long night ahead, so that's the total run.
