@Domman56 tisk tisk...never base comparison tests from personal youtube videos. There are too many variables that can alter the outcome, i.e. fuel grade, vehicle load, a/c, tire pressure, outside temperature, engine temperature, etc. You're better off researching the actual statistics of both vehicles.

I have driven both and will tell you that the E63 AMG is a faster more refined AMG than the E55. Mercedes would be doing a terrible job if the newest AMG E-Class was slower than its predecessor.

Not sure where you got those numbers from but a S65 has 604 horsepower and 738 ft lb torque. E55 has only 469 hp and 516 tq.

Sorry. My mistake. The S in the video is a 2006 s65amg, not a s55 like I thought. In 2006 I was researching they made the s65 in that older bodystyle. Sorry.

It's hard to tell from the video, but the S65 never actually moved forward.

It's torque actually made the world spin backwards.

I've driven the RENNtech 2008 Mercedes S65 AMG. From a major power boost to 702HP and 805TQ. We got 0-62MPH in just 4.1's and top speed de-limited of 201MPH. Also, a good 11's in a quarter-mile. Really amazing package from RENNtech.

That said, Wh do you guys always run the E55 poorly? These are the only vids where E55s handily lose to an M5.

Usually the M5 wins yes, but not as badly as here.

Eh, I've seen tons of other vids on Youtube. I admit the E55 isn't quite as fast, but it doesn't completely OWNED as it does here.

yea i kno, the e63 a beast too, i drove e63 and s65 wen i did valet. i think the new s65 has some type of valet key or button that cuts power cuz i hit the gas hard 2 see if it took off quick but the rpm,s just went up ad the car aint really move

I raced a M5 5 times 2 nights ago. All 4 times between 0-110. 1 race we did from a rolling 25mph and I beat him again until 115-120. I beat a M6 from 0 also until 120. M6 beat me on a highway roll start of 70mph. These M's are seriously no joke at high speeds but no way no matter what u M5board guys say can a M5 or M6 beat my E55 from a DIG.

I agree i have a 03 E55 as well and i have never lost from a dig to either a M5 or M6 but my car also makes right at 500rwhp in its current setup i have yet to race one over 120mph but i guess i will see soon enough when i get the chance.. There is two of us here and at the track we run 11.3-11.6s @120-122 depending on conditions.

s65 is proper car. The E55 is not. S65 kicks M6 ass all day long. And with only a tuning chip, the Merc pulls about +130bhp more. That seriously cool.

Why is it weird? 1000 Nm and 612 bi-turbo V-12 crushes the E55 AMG.

Also, the S65 AMG hit 290-300 km/h on that streatch and the E55 probably alot lower.
