  • Well, that's fair enough, it's what you like. Personally I'd rather have no ears if it was all I could listen to. There are some exceptions, I'm not so closed minded I won't make the effort but generally it just isn't for me.

  • Cradle of Filth's version is better...by a long shot

  • @Yonraththeblack My thoughts EXACTLY.

  • @Yonraththeblack Well it won't be, obviously,

  • @Shyamini1000 yet it will, you are only speaking from your own opinions, the FACTS are that any some written by any genre, Black metal always does it better.

  • @Yonraththeblack Right, I've just listened to Cradle of Filth's Temptation and, Ill hate myself for saying this, quite liked it. Heaven 17 do it better and I don't become bored with it, but their version wasn't unlistenable.

  • @Shyamini1000 if you like it, I got a few more that you may like, not CoF, but still good enough to be deemed listenable. :)

  • @Yonraththeblack Look what you've done to me, I've been listening all evening, and now I really like it. I still prefer Heaven 17, thank God, but there you go.

  • @Shyamini1000 then it seems I "goth" more work to do. haha

  • brilliant song still cool

  • 29 people had better believe it.

  • The girl in this video deserves an award for that body. She is fucking gorgeous.

  • @deslynamstache Fuck her, in the nicest way possible, of course, Glenn is incredibly lovely. Just heaven.

  • @deslynamstache Carol Kenyon - forgive spelling.

  • Disagree Alf, here in England there was some great music in the 90s 94/94 onwards oasis etc

  • Glenn Gregory is gorgeous and adorable and this band are brilliant, they make most 80's music sound like the shite so much of it clearly must have been. A breath of fresh air.

  • @Shyamini1000 Considering this was very typical of the grandeur that was 1980s music, I don't know why you think the majority of it to have been "shite". Some was a bit lightweight, and American stuff was noticeably different to British, but in general, following the music scene back then was exciting. Not like the garbage of the decades ever since.

  • @alfredagain What I've heard that comes under the 'shite' category IMO is stuff like Matt Bianco, Joboxers, Bananarama, China Crisis, Go West, Kajagoogoo, Culture Club, Flock of Seagulls, Deacon Blue,Thompson Twins, the list is endless really. The good stuff, for me, is Heaven 17, of course, Gary Numan, New Order, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Talk Talk, some Tears for Fears, REM. The crap is all UK stuff and mostly the good stuff, apart from REM. British crap is a bit worse than US crap.

  • @Shyamini1000 I see the distinction between the two categories, although I liked and loved the vast majority of 1980s music, especially British. I suspect you'd have liked Echo and the Bunnymen, the Psychedelic Furs, the Cure, and hated Hazy Fantazy, Marilyn, and maybe Soft Cell. Can't agree 1990s music was generally better, since that was when rap and slow jams came into their own and are still making me sick to this day. Yee-ech!

  • @alfredagain I can't believe I left the Bunnymen off my list, they were one of the best of that decade. I don't know Hazy Fantazy or Marilyn. The Cure have done some good stuff and I don't know much Soft Cell, though I like a song they did called Torch, which I think is from the early eighties. I will look up the Psychedelic Furs, great name, too. Contemporary music is bland, apolitical, meaningless and won't leave much behind, which is something, I suppose.

  • @alfredagain There's been plenty of rubbish since, I absolutely agree but I think 90's music was of a highter standard generally, but there hasn't been anything massively standout for ages ( apart from, for me at least, the Arcade Fire.) But Heaven 17 had and have something very specific and special and they actually wrote good songs which had meaning and were intelligent, including social and political commentary which was insightful rather than just aggressive and hostile.

  • I always have to give props to where music began, and I do. I of course love the Cradle of Filth cover of this being a huge metal fan, and I definitely give massive props to the band for being able to listen to this and separate the lyrics from the music to find the dark, devious side of it. Anyone who's seen the video or heard the cover of this, even if you're a huge fan of this version you cannot deny how Cradle did this song justice, especially by telling it through the story of Adam & Eve.

  • who gives a fuck about years of copyrights all we would like to know is the year.... twats

  • Cradle of filth isn't even gothic. . . they are extreme metal. Geez people. At least know the genres of the band you're going to criticize.

Must say that I like cradle of filth's cover better. Though the lady singing is awesome here.

  • @angelicbaby92 Cradel of Filth isn't extreme metal at all, their just a heavy metal band with different influences, but if you want extreme metal then look at the technical death metal bands, not heavy metal, lmfao./

  • @goodnamepending Extreme metal does not only include death metal. It's a loosely based term that includes thrash, black, death, doom which is more EXTREME than heavy metal. They have blast beats and double bass drumming as well as false chords screams continuously or super high pitched screams.Cradle of filth actually does not fit in any specific category of extreme metal but they do have elements of death metal, black metal, and even a bit of gothic.Do you even listen to them?

  • @goodnamepending Cradle of filth's themes usually include that of rape, vampyrism, death, blood, temptation, lots of stuff which heavy metal doesn't incorporate. That's extreme metal ya know. It has a feel of evil, doom, brutal, anger. And the entire song is usually screaming. If you used their cover of this song temptation as your ONLY basis for their ENTIRE sound, then you don't even have the right to say that they are heavy metal. THIS IS by far their slowest song yet.

  • @goodnamepending Listen to Cthulhu Dawn, Lord Abortion, The Forest Whispers My Name, All Hope lies in Eclipse. omg there are so many songs that are simply amazing by them and are the best. But just to name a few if you don't even know their songs at all, then you'll see if you listen to those on youtube. Demonstrates their sound perfectly.

  • Cradle> what ever this is...

  • cradle of goth shite pish

  • what are you guys talking about? FOOTBALL what are you girls talking about? SHOPPING

  • It's Carol's voice but it's another girl in the video.

  • Classic. Carol Kenyon in THAT dress. Wow.

  • @TheTokyoSelecter

Ah, yes, now I remember...:-) Thanks for the correction.

  • cradle of total pish

  • nothing can beat the original version, just so catch, all though I do like cradle of filths version too :)

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song. It has to be one of favourites of all time. If you've seen Glenn Gregory around these days, he doesn't have all that lucious blonde hair he used to. So, he looks nothing like Malfoy anymore.

  • @fishyfingersparty Christopher Walken a touch?

  • @dannylmeats COMPLETELY!!

  • this video is very disturbing lol

  • Reminds me of "Trainspotting", brilliant film, good track.

  • lol@fishyfingersparty:-)

  • @Metal6sick6

  • @kevy06 hahahahahha idiot

  • @Metal6sick6

thats it, thats the comeback you had to offer? My point proved. FAIL

  • @kevy06 i don't wanna get into a discussion, cause if i do it i'll be what you want me to be

  • @Metal6sick6

well then sod off then because you're not going to argue music with me my friend because I will beat you into a cocked hat.

  • cradle of filth!

  • oh i get it!! temptation (lead us not into temptation is in the Bible which is why they are stood with a Bible!

  • Glenn Gregory looks like Malfoy and and the woman looks like freema ageman (martha from dr who)

  • Cradle of Filth blows this out of the water.

  • @Phillipmorrisonc if you like cradle of filth what you doing watching this Philipmoronson!

  • @Phillipmorrisonc with out this, there would have been no remake.

  • @Phillipmorrisonc cradle of filth? sad goth shite

  • Another great tune from the 80's!

¡Otro gran tema de los 80's!

  • Trainspotting!!!

  • Steam holiday sales theme tune.

  • That part when he slams the book shut is so frickin sexy.. I probably need to get out more huh

  • merry christmas

  • I like the part where they say Temptation

  • It's drago malefoy

  • @thefuck558 No, it is another person.

  • Which 'NOW' Music compilation was this track on. About 1998/99

  • @CATHERINEPLACE I think it was Now 3 in 1983

  • @etchells29 Nearly! - Now 1 - , still got the side 1 tape!!!! (yes I know this makes me sad!) Wikipedia 'Now That's What I Call Music (original UK album)'

  • @phillipbailey70 Lol thanks for the clarification.

  • I heard this at the Volcan Club

  • I like this song. First time i listen this track on trainspotting

  • Classic!

  • Draco?

  • such a tune...cradle of filth? pff...more like crock of shit..sisters of mercy wannabes

  • I have six bulbs of beetroot down the back of my underpants.

  • 2:21, what a whorny girl!

  • somehow reminds me of scooby doo :/ somethings wrong with me...hahaha

  • Great song. Glenn Gregory reminds me of Malfoy from the Harry Potter films!

  • @fishyfingersparty I just thought that too!

  • @fishyfingersparty i was thinking exactly the same thing :D

  • @fishyfingersparty I was trying to think of who he reminded me of and you hit the nail on the head :) thx

  • This is shit compared to Cradle of Filth's cover. Cradle's version has WAY more feeling and meaning behind why they covered it. The vocals are so much more beautiful in Cradle's version also. And it's WAY fucking more darker. Can't go wrong with dark ;)

  • evan if you like the genre limp buizkit are in ther are so many better bands in it, like every single one out ther.

  • limp buizkit can suck my balls. they would probs be good at it too because they are the masters of sucking. if you like them fair enough but god knows any cover they did was not better than the original no matter who sang it

  • Proper music

  • I love this song so hard. VH1 released like 10 DVDs of All Time Classics. This ended up in this collection. I either already knew and loved the songs or they were generic rubbish of the time. Out of the entire 10 DVDs, this song (with only one or two others) were the only songs that were new and amazing hidden gems of the past. Heaven 17, I knew of you but didn't know this song. Love from Australia.

  • quanto mi piaceva e quanto mi piace ancora questa canzone....

  • F**ck your VEVO, i hate it !!!

  • @Metalhead498 sorry i disagree u2/grenndays version of the saints are coming was better than the skids ,as was limp bizkits version of behind blue eyes

  • 21 people have never had temptations...

  • Originals are always better then covers transposed into a different style.

  • To do a cover dosnt mean they have to do it like the original. If a black metal band did it like this they'd be forced into retirement! Cof gets enough flak for covering this song as it is.

  • @Radicalalaska indeed, these are two totally different genres so of course theyre not gonna sound identical, their take on this song is very original but is still fairly faithful to the original

  • Both are awesome. I love COF's take on it better. But I miss the high pitched soprano from the original!

  • I always thought the lead singer looked like Cristopher Walken. LOL

  • Someone says "Original is better" and another says "COF is better".

If one person attacked COF, COF fans attacked Heaven 17.

Why doesn't @sibeliandrift think about it?

    I choose COF :D

  • Cradle of flith cover is better - HAIL METAL !

  • @klofik123 exacly ;)

  • magnificaa <3

  • I didn't think the cradle of filth version would be bad as everyone said it would be but wow.

  • trainspotting brought me here

  • Me too.

  • The "Cradle of Filth" version is way better ~!!~ :)

  • @MiiVersusReeseman888 This generally made me LOL.

  • Yeah, I don't get the hate. I like both versions.

  • I like both versions, now fuck off

  • @MiiVersusReeseman888 You're a fucking idiot.

  • oh dear lord why did cradle of filth cover this i don't know what to think anymore!

  • I'm so sorry, but I like COF version much better.... I guess I like dark moods better. I feel nothing from this.

  • 0:25 - Glenn Gregory seems to have a bird table on his shoulders...

  • The two girls: "what you boys talkin' 'bout?"

    Spud and tommy: "futbol"

    Spud: "How bout you?"

    The girls: "Shuppin'"

    Classic film.

  • @FrogyKingdomDotCom "Do you have the beasht in your shite?"

  • @FrogyKingdomDotCom what film?

  • Another song made before my birth, but still a tune!!!!! <3

  • Scary singer

  • Thumbs up if u believe COF's is better

  • @MetalSuomiForever your music taste is really bad

  • This song is great, the Cradle of Filth cover is less so good.... the funny thing is I liked Cradle of Filth when I was 14 but you soon realise they are a hilarious kiddy Metal band!

  • 17 people wasnt tempted

  • found a cassette in my mom's box of all sorts! played the music and this was there but it was more exciting and had a mad fast beat. i could not stop playing till... it disappeared

  • Are you gere cause Cradle of Filth?

  • @zrnicek i was only kiddin'

yes i do like cradle of filth and this song is actually not that bad

  • Who's the woman?

  • @WorldChallenge

It's the stunningly gorgeous Carol Kenyon

  • @WorldChallenge

It's not Carol Kenyon in the video. They used a Page 3 girl, would you believe.?

  • @WorldChallenge the other answer is wrong. Although Carol Kenyon sang on the record, for some mysterious reason nobody knows she was not available to do the video, so a lookalike was used instead.

  • can someone explain to me what the fuck is going on in the lyrics and video etc

  • trainspotting brought me here..

  • ...

  • Who are Cradle of Filth?

  • @jbm1980 the best metal band ever that covered this lame song

  • @jbm1980 exactly!

  • YEA!!!!!

  • I love this song, it really highlights how difficult it is to live in such an overly sexualised society, that, or I could just be talking Bollocks.

  • Cradle of filth cover heaven17 ...

  • @CommandantZero ...sucks.

  • This is a weird Cradle of Filth cover.....

  • Cradle of Filth is fucking garbage.

  • @TheMXviking cradle of filth is excrement.

  • @Trecobezor Actually, Cradle of Filth rocks the shit out of this one, yet Heaven 17 should be thanked for releasing such well-composed piece.

  • Just like to point out that the cradle of filth version is unequivocally the absolute worst cover version of any song by any performer in the entire history of recorded music. Hope that clears things up!

  • @sibeliandrift Oh its f***ing dire alright, but I still think the worst cover ever is Sonata Artica's cover of Out in the Fields by Gary Moore and Phil Lynnot

  • @sibeliandrift jaloush peace of shit

  • @sibeliandrift your a faggot.

  • @sibeliandrift beats this shit

  • @sibeliandrift you have no idea of REAL MUSIC dude ...

  • @sibeliandrift Thats your opinion. I happen to drastically prefer their version. Though I've also never heard the original before now. Believe me, there have been far worse covers...

  • ma sono dello stesso album temptation e let me go?

  • @19MAGICO YES

  • im in a mindfucked state

  • Is it drako malfoy ??

  • @Eltec69

  • Proper Yorkshire!

  • Why are 80's videos always so dang surreal?

  • LOL Cradle Of Filth coverd this song. and is much better

  • @Metallaro66 no

  • @Metallaro66 lol it's so much different xD

but yes, it's much better than this...

  • @18is3sixes \m/
