I would say the worst ever plane crashes were the crash of Japan Airlines 123 in 1985 (determined to be caused by a faulty repair job from several years prior, which failed in flight, causing explosive decompression that blew the tail off), and in 1977 two 747's collided on a runway in Tenerife, Spain. One was taxiing and the other, a KLM plane, was at full takeoff speed and about to lift off when it hit the taxiing plane. The KLM pilots did not see it until it was too late (thick fog).

@kawaiinitz31 Oh, takeoffs and landings are the best parts! To me, anyway. That sensation of speed you get when you're close to the ground. Especially the takeoff acceleration. Something so big with so many people accelerating like that, then taking to the sky, is always amazing to me.

It was a flyby at an airshow in France, and the A/T was set wrong..I've read the CVR transcript from this crash, and it was carrying newsreporters, not actual passengers for the airline. you guys need to do some research before you post random stuff you claim is true. The aviation industry is already under enough pressure and you guys throwing out random accusations makes everything far worse.

It wasn't an attempt at a remote landing. It was one of the first A-320's and was performing for journalists at an airshow in India. There was a small number of people on board. The pilot was demonstrating the auto throttle operation by pulling the nose up, thinking that the power would come on automatically. Unfortunately he forgot that when the A/C is configured for landing auto throttle is disabled. By the time he realised he was too low/slow for the engines to spool up in time.

@schlutorflyer correction:airshow was in France and the plane wass loaded with half capasity The pilot was gonna do a nose up gear down stabile fly by pretty fancy but he had done it before and they didnt know about the trees before and the engines were in a upwards position and was unnable to give full thrust and it wasnt the landing configuration itwas the stall resitant program witch prevents it from stalling and he was avare about the A/C

If I remember that airplane correctly at 1:49 - 2:12 ,that was an experimental aircraft. I believe that aircraft had all electrical wiring for all parts such as flaps-rudders-vertical stabilizer-etc etc and had no hydraulics. As it turned it...it didnt work out very well
