The takeoff is amazing! Loved the video. Hope all who were involved with the development of this beast the best of luck Size does add in complexity, this is simply a technological marvel. The systems involved with this aircraft are mindboggling and goes to show what teamwork can do.

i think that you will find that with a cross wind and a shorter runway he had to bring it down hard to stop in time

That was one of the reasons expressed about that type of landing. The aircraft did skid sideways after touch down though...I don't think that was too intentional.

What were the winds at landing? Sounds pretty gusty for it to have done a 2 crab approaches and 2 hard landings. One on it's arrival and after the demo.

The winds were pretty cross but it only did one landing during the event. Upon arrival the A380 did a demonstration flight that included the landing. When it departed later in the week it flew another demonstration, this time with the takeoff. The video is a splice of both demonstrations. They were both the same, only one had a landing, and one had the takeoff. Thanks for watching!
