preview instant alpha is better than pages n keynote

You don't have to go to Preview to do what you are doing. You can use the "Draw with pen" option to make the outlined shape on top of the photo. Then adjust the points (as you do in Preview), maybe add or delete a few. You can even do nice curves with bezier handles. When you created the shape, select shape and picture and choose Mask in the Format menu. So same thing, but even easier.

You're using the mouse a lot more than you need to in my opinion. Command + space for spotlight, space bar for preview, etc.

On keynote I use the shape option button when i need to take out borders of a picture, then adjust the size i want..Of course it wouldn't work on the other pic with the back ground of your room. Awesome vid! keep up the good work! I guess the iphone case review sounds cool? I really haven't seen any good vid's on Kinemac, not sure if you use?
