  • smoke a lil weed occasionally matt.. no bullshit!! it wont affect your workout much, it boosts the metabolism and your heart rate, but most importantly you'll get better quality in your sleep and proper rest is key to body building;

  • you can't really tell if only FITTING YOUR MACROS works because you're still at a calorie deficit so its obvious you're still going to lose weight. Whether you're going to lose it at an optimal rate is another discussion. Studies have shown that a calorie deficit with higher insulin levels and higher GI carbs makes you lose a worse fat/muscle ratio.

  • @FAA041909 To be honest, I can only speak for myself... So don't quote me or anything. My understanding of the way the body works is that if you burn more calories than how much you consume per day, week, month, etc... Then by the laws of thermodynamics you will lose weight. That's it simplified.

  • Careful Matt, it is true it doesn't matter what you get your macros from as long as you get your macros, but you body may not be used to the different foods and digest them differently than your friends.

  • @MultiCRUDE that's a matter that has to do with individuals, and not the concepts, no? Of course it would be unhealthy to get my macros from cow poop or dog throw up... Or if a friend has an allergy to peanuts, it would be unwise for him to even attempt to fulfill his macro requirements from peanuts. What's your point? lol

  • @flexforall2 Well I've got myself a good diet strategy and workout plan, but I'm not sure what protein would be best for me. Obviously need something to reduce fat so I can lean down (currently approx 95kg). Any suggestions that are affordable? Can be isolate but kind of clueless.

  • @badkarma1043 While there's several calculators out there, it's something that you will have to figure out.

    The concepts are pretty easy to understand... More protein for someone with a higher lean body mass index. Carbs - you have to figure that one out yourself... base it on your goal. Fats - that part takes the most discipline to handle. ex, consuming 50fat per day during cutting... You don't necessarily need a ton of fat offseason for performance either, carbs generally help performance

  • if you put an ice-cream in your diet, what happens with the sugar? won't it affect your fat loss or gains?

  • @ze1nikO if you put ice cream in your diet, then you gotta watch your fats even more so than the carbs. Normal ice cream generally has a ton of fat and obviously plenty of carbs that will suck up your macros way faster than something like brown rice ever could lol.

    How do you keep track of fruits and vegetables in terms of macros?

    Also, try to make a video dedicated to the cardio routine that you used to burn fat (I'm not referring to the cardio routine you use now for maintenance). It would really help.
