CBS is leading the networks (though not hard to do) during prime time and most of the broadcast day, but even with that momentum and potential audience, Couric is still failing miserably. Five million is a lot, but Couric isn't responsible for them; she's responsible for both those she lost and for those she didn't attract. That was the reason for hiring her. You don't hire someone to lose ratings, revenue and respect. There are far more deserving and qualified journalists in the labor pool.
