ok I have an 9800GT and a quad core and 3.2gbs of ddr2 RAM but both CoP and SoC run like poop on even minimum, is it just the engine or something because i can run most other games maxed out or way better than in stalker

i finished this game 8 (yes EIGHT) times so far, first 2 parts i had the same ending so srg.... personally its among the 3 best fps games i ever played ( first one for me was far cry 1 since i was a kid and it was extremely fun for me) . They said that Stalker 2 will have a different engine or whatever, since there is a lot of games these days that were better while they are old, now when they got a new engine they are shit, i hope they dont do the same to Stalker 2.. cheers :D

Wow man, just WOW!!! No better word for this excellency by gsc and xray engine. I played all 3 parts of stalker. And this is way better compared with Fallout 3. thats wat i felt after playing it.True experience of a lonely stalker. And the map OMFG one of the best. HEart touching atmospheric details!!! artifacts anomalies, etc etc. so many stuffs to do. TAKE a BOW!!! I cant wait for stalker 2 release.

it's got the only true mix of FPS and the wow-like 'explore the world' kind of feel, with so much happening.

the only thing that lets it down, is the massive amount of glitches - at least i've come across.

unfortunately the first person models do suck and look like they were made for goldsrc engine... but the environments and character models(in CoP) look really great. That's why after I beat every STALKER game I replay it over and over again, with a third person camera mod.

The 8500GT isn't good at all for games... And the game also only uses 1 core of the processor. Download the affinity mod if you have a quad core, and get a better card (9800GTX would be fine).

8500gt isn't a good card. Sorry, this is how nVidia/ATI trick in a way. It has the number 8 because it has a G80 chip, but the chip is severely handicapped, underclocked, etc. So it outputs very poor performance, but it does support DX10 and w/e else the G80 chips support, bout the only benefit. 8600GT, 8800GT Are good. I have 2x8800GT's myself. When you buy, always buy the X6XX's, or the X8XX's, or the GTX260 - GTX280/285/295 if you want true performance.
