  • ok 2 questions: on my mixer i have the output but the end is 3.5mm and i just connected that to my pc throught the holt that shows ( a mic lol) is that right?. second question my mixer has the headphone jack in it, i can use that or i need all that stuff u used there to use ur headphones?

  • Thanks this helped a lot. R.I.P to your crash man.

  • you said cobus' name correctly. first person ive ever heard pronounce it correctly

  • If you keep getting cymbals made of the B8 alloy, they will keep breaking because its a pretty weak metal, thats why they are so cheap.

  • Snot-bubble at 5:20. heh

  • a very noob question .. so basically you get mics connected to an audio mixer and from dere you connect it to the laptop ?? so do you mix on the laptop program or mixer ?? and how much is the mixer for a basic one ?

  • Pie-Stee! (Paiste)

  • does the Mixer have phantom power?? and also, when you record with mixcraft, does the song ever like skip or lag when your recording?? Because I seem to have that problem :/

  • Lol same forum series, same double pedal

  • got the same pts5 crash:)

  • is there pre-amp on the xenyx mixer? im thinking of getting one

  • you can't record every channel of mixer to separate track in software simultaneously? Like if you plug 5 mics, every mic is recording on different track? All stuff will be recorded on one track?

  • @ridiska what do you have for a mixer ?

  • @MrCNDrums I don't have any, I want to buy some, so I watch some videos. I need AUDIO interface and mixer in one, but I want that any channel is recording on different track. Like kick drum on one, snare on other and so on. Or 3 mics, at the same time of recording but each in different channel. I look at M AUDIO PROJECT I/O but it costs about 1000$ in my country.!

  • @ridiska It'll all record in separate tracks it all just blends together. Sucks.

  • Yeah.. all the ZBT's I got cracked on me..

  • dude, get to the point god dammit!! The title is "How I Record My Drum Set", not "look at my broken cymbals, lights Mics & desktop background pic"....JEEEEEEEZ!!!!

  • How do you crack a cymbal

  • Hey one way to not crack your cymbal is to put them at maybe a 20 degree angle so you not hitting the edge as bluntly thanx for uploading

  • i have that same double bass pedal

  • lol ... i have the saame cell phone.... awesome slow motion video = )

  • uhhh, " so i have my lights... uh,.... for my lighting." no shit u dumb ass

  • behringer. com /assets/2222FX_P0558_S_EN. pdf

you can use your desk as an interface. that will give you control over each mic after you've recorded it by multitracking rather than just recording a stereo mix. then use the line out to go straight to your stereo. fuck that little usb thing off. tuning your drums will help massively. i have got some of the best sounds out of worse kits, you just need to know how to tune/dampen/mic them to get the sound you want.

  • Blow the nose next time brotha.. Gj

  • How about buying good cymbals???

  • how much did the Behringer cost you including the audio interface?

  • my usb interface never worked .. digidesign mbox mini is better any way

  • wait so you cant plaug like your tom mics or snare mic into a line in? they all have to be like a normal microphone input for the mixer?

  • @paintballpro23 i always just went straight from my mixer to the line -in on the PC. sounded fine. i mean, if ur wantin pro quality recordings its gonna cost. but this is a good way for a young band to cut a demo or somethin, serves the purpose.

  • spray painting your drums ruins the sound

  • If your gonna get hats get sabian aax

  • so what mode is your mixer in? like left/right or mon/mix?

  • lights........for the lighting

  • whats up man. can you hear your drums processed through your headphones when you play. I think your mixer has built in compression and reverb. Im looking to mic my drums but I want to hear a processed drum sound through my headphones.

  • hey man, does hooking your mixer up to the u-control, then to your computer make any difference (audio quality etc), rather than just hooking it straight to your computer?

  • can i use u-control in other mixer?

    or just for behringer.

  • hey guys, we all started out somewhere, leave the dude alone

  • ur gross blow ur nose.

  • I use to call it paiste as well then realised just the other day its PIE STEE pronunciation lol

  • "yeah, dis is teh paste rude" ....doesnt look like paste to me. it looks like a cymbal. its pronounced pie-stee. nube.

  • Lol you're cymbals are absolutly shit....!!! by b20 bronze cymbals..

  • Oh never mind, the rest of the video answered my question.

  • Is your mixer a usb? Cuz there's an exact mixer, but it isn't a usb mixer.

  • u got a cool kit, but holy fuck u crack a lot of cymbols

  • hey what is the sofwear plz tell me ??

  • i advice you loosen your cymbal if your breaking them so much...

  • hey i have that same cowbell and tamboruine on my set

  • with the 2222fx do you get all the mics into your computer when you mix?

  • Does the Behringer mixer have the effects for a good drum sound such as compression and reverb. I dont need to record I just want a good sound when I practice to songs. Can you hear your mix through your headphones.

  • With the USB in the Xenyx... can you record each track independently in the PC?

  • awww man why did you leave the mixer for an audio interface.....i mean i own a mixer for my drum mics but is a audio interface really better than a mixer with pre eq settings??

  • For a double-kick I reccomend you the Speed Cobra. It's built based upon the Iron Cobra, featuring a new system oon the bearings to provide no friction, recessed chain, and a longer footboard to provide you the fastest and best 16th bass drum notes yet, also with additional attack. Plus, all the things you know about the Iron Cobra, including the Cobra Coil, are in the Speed Cobra as well.

  • @race1717 i already bought the speed cobra last year..

  • @logodrumline14 Then all the things you'd expect from the Iron Cobra should be in there. If it doesn't seem to work for you, try buying a newer one as you might've bought one before the tweaks were made. The Speed Cobra itself is the best option I know as it happens to be an UPGRADE from the Iron Cobra.

  • @logodrumline14 wish you would blow your nose in this video, you snively Streisand.

  • damn, I wouldn't jack people's cymbals after they die...that's just disrespectful man

  • So that mixer gives you a stereo track on your pc?? You can't mix all of the tracks individually on your computer right??

  • You're breaking cymbals cuz you're using ZBT cymbals...which suck ass.

  • okay just buy GOOD cymbals so they dont break.. u will actually save money if u buy expensives ones.... cuz they wont beark

  • haha! My first cymbals were ZBT's and I fucking wrecked that 18" crash!! it was almost split in half.. and there were cracks up to the bell on several places then later I bought a pack of used cymbals and there was one like that and it only took me a week to crack it half way to the bell! Those poor cymbals..

  • Hey I liked this video.

I really want to be able to record the songs we make (our band). And I was wondering if I could use my home cinema/hifi speakers and receiver instead of studiomonitors? The thing is I love the sound from my Monitor Audio RX6 and it would be shame if I can't use them.

  • @aXque yea you probably could. if you can get your speakers to be hooked up the same way monitors are you can do it no problem. i haven't done it before so i can't give you any advise on how to, but i know it probably can be done.

  • @aXque Studio monitors are actually quite important if you want a nice sounding mix. The thing about consumer speakers is that the low end is boosted or the eq is tweaked slightly. Studio monitors were specifically built to make the mix sound as neutral as possible.

  • genius!

  • can you record straight to laptop without buying an expensive mixer or are there cheap mixers around?

  • @logodrumline14 great setup but just a suggestion please don't use retarded as to mean stupid because that's not what it means

  • Thats a nice kit and recording equipment!

  • how much was the mixer? would you recommend getting one of those or an interface?

  • @cococrisp20 mixer was around $350 when i got it. i recommend getting an interface though cause it has multitrack recording whereas mixers don't.

  • @logodrumline14 what's the advantage with multitrack recording? you're able to have several outputs as opposed to 1?

  • @cococrisp20 the advantage is with multitrack recording you can put each microphone on its own recording track, which means you'll have more control of your drum sound. with a mixer you'll have 1 or 2 tracks that you have to put all of your mics on so there's not much control.

  • @logodrumline14 great thanks for the help man!

  • @cococrisp20 no problem! i might be making a new video on how to record drums that has more info and goes into more detail about everything.

  • your just like me i broke 2 cymcals and 4 pairs of sticks i learnt new technique

  • your cymbals are really bad!!

  • Your mixer can hook up directly to your computer via USB. Switch over to ASIO drivers and the you can bypass the cheap interface.

  • you should do a cover of new millennium by dream theater. beat band evar!

  • oh, and i have a question. do you HAVE to have the u-control thing to record, or can you just get the mixer, mics, software, etc.?

  • wow, thank you SO much for this video. i'll hopefully start making drum cover videos soon!

  • I saw that bitTorrent software :) you did NOT pay for that $70 software!! :P

  • dont ever set drinks anywhere near your equipment. no matter how careful you are. trust me you dont want to pay for your mixer again!

  • When you record onto your software though your mixer and fire-wire dose it come up as a single recording or loads of different recording like each drum mic ??

  • i use behringer and mixcraft too

  • How did you use your U Control since it has just 4 channels? or does it have more?

  • stop saying sorry for everything man.. your good bro lol (: we understand you.

this actually helped me out. cause i wanna record drums soon. so thankss.

Can i ask how much the mixer cost?

  • ROFL YOU SAID "HOOK UP"

  • ummm...

  • how do u record cymbals

  • 16inch crash's are for girls or spandau ballet cover bands!

  • @safespa1 ???

  • Cymbal carnage.

  • theres something i don't get when you said you got a wire coming out of that UCA audio device and into the stereo well i dont get it because if you got a song on your computer what you want to play why cant you plug ur headphones into the laptop in stead of stereo can you just use a Hy-Fi system instead i just dont get any of it can you make a more detailed video and send it to me because i don't get it

  • 1:06 holy shit. i did the same thing!

  • great video. blow your nose next time! ;)

  • How do you assign each mic a seperate track for editing. I have nearly the exact same mixer ( I use the USB 2442 ) and whenever I record drums, the drums are recorded as one track, rather than have each mic have its own channel for editing. HELP!!!!

  • @SomeGuyWithABucket

common misconception with the behringer mixers. i dont believe that they multi track. i always thought that they did. but they do not

  • @SomeGuyWithABucket You wanna be sure that the mixer is full-duplex in order to record in separate tracks. I recently just learned about this, and I know how you feel.

For example, there's a mixer out there called 'Alesis Multimix 8 USB'. It has phantom power, and doubles as an interface. Thing is, it sends a stereo-mix to your computer on a single track. Now, the 'Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0' DOES support multi-track recording. Try joining a recording forum, and ask or look around.

  • @SomeGuyWithABucket These mixers can only send out a stereo signal. What you are recording is the L/R channel outs. No individual tracks here, sorry. You have to pre mix, which can be difficult.

  • I dont get it.. why use the usb to send the audio to your computer when you can just send it through the RCA to the computer...

Can you assign different channels on the mixer to different channels on the program?

  • Your left crashed and your sticks are having a serious argument!

  • Comment removed

  • I am looking to get a very similar setup with a Behringer 1002Bfx and the same interface that you have in this video. My question is do you like your mixer and interface? and why do you use your stereo headphone jack instead of the one on your interface?

    Thanks.

  • @curlysheepishbas ok fair enough there is more but uf you watch his drum covers he tends to hit thriugh the cymbals which does cause the to crack but you are right with it not being the only reason

  • if you're breaking lots of cymbals thats because of a bad technique

  • @DrumsKickAssWoop1 Lol, it;s from using B8's and ZBTs

  • when u get new pedals get the iron cobras trust me you wouldnt regret it

  • @skatertwig26 haha i actually got the new speed cobras for christmas :P

  • @logodrumline14 Haha good choice i have the rolling glide cobras! well nice vids man Ill sub u

  • @logodrumline14 ive been hearing about them alot and thought id look into them.. but first id like to hear from you , are they worth it? im a metal drummer and do alot of fast double bass.. whats to know about them?

  • @Gl4nG3R they're great. i've gotten quite used to them and they're really nice pedals. i can't tell you if they're good for fast double bass though because i cant play double bass fast at all, its something i gotta work on this summer. but these pedals are very nice and the longer foot board makes it easier for me to play heel toe too!

  • @logodrumline14 thank you

compared to other drum pedals , how much easier are they to hit? as in does it take less strength or more? because thats a factor for the double bass

  • Sorry to hear about your brother man... But one suggestion.... Away with b8 cymbals, those are beginner stuff.

  • when I upload my videos from mixcraft youtube dosent recognize the file plz help me :)

  • apolgizing for a sneeze? u must be canadian lol, great vid

  • I have a question, How do you get the video to mix in with the drums? It should be a hell of a lot easier if i'm using electric drums.

  • @iKeithMc right?

  • What software do you use?

  • @oioiborracho on this video i used Acoustica Mixcraft 4, but i just bought an audio interface that came with Cubase Le 5, so I'm using that now and am working on getting agood drum sound so i can start recording again :)

  • @logodrumline14 And which microphones do you use? I have recently bought a t-bone dc4000 set and i use them with a xenyx1832fx and cubase sx5... I'm completing my equip to start producing dub!

  • @oioiborracho right now i use a variation of the samson 8-kit, but eventually i wanna upgrade to audix mics.

  • im debating on buying the Behringer XENYX X2222 or the X224...ppl been sayin that Behringer's not the best brand of mixers, because I guess some of the channels will burn out or not work anymore. Some say that you cant record thru all the channels at the same time? Wtf is that? I wna record my whole drumset, with the 7 mics I have for it, and I dont wna waste money on some bitch ass mixer that mite not help me at all...any suggestions?

  • @WHOwantSHOTTIE The Behringer Xenyx mixers are very good quality. however, they're not the best for recording drums. i found out the hard way. you can't record each mic on a separate track, which sucks because as a drummer you want to be able to do that in order to eq each mic individually to accommodate each drum. I just bought the TASCAM US-1800 USB Audi Interface. This allows you to record each mic on a separate track, and it costs less than the xenyx 2222. I recommend buying the interface.

  • @WHOwantSHOTTIE

    Grammar nazi bait

  • wut web site u say u use??

  • Dude, you just dont understand how rank your sniff sounds when your eating :L

  • hey i have the same phone as you!

  • @TylerSilvaDrums me too haha.

  • dude never buy those b8 they suck u hit them hard once and they break i had some of them

  • I would the other zildjians as main hats

  • What EQ settings do you use on each drum?

  • what does the u-control do?

  • hitting your cymabls wrong, that's why they crack. You sort of have to roll over them, sort of wash idk it's hard to describe.

  • not to be mean, but buy some better cymbals, like AAXs. if you can afford mics and a mixer you can afford aax's

  • Sabian breaks FUCKING fast!

  • @MrPineapple55 They are if you want to hear your cymbals clearly at all

  • DO i need the u control thing to record

  • someones probably already said this but why don't you put the output into the mixer and send it to headphones only?

  • @logodrumline14

    pretty usefull video, thx dude:D

  • hey , when you record your drums, on the program, do the drums come out as separate tracks or all in one? cuz i have the same mixer as you and i cannot get them to split separate. also do you recommend this recording software? thx

  • is there any demo or free software same as yours bro let me know

  • good eqipment and helpful video but you'd better to use napkins by the way:)

  • How do I plug the mics into the mixer? Would I need to buy an extra cable?

  • hey dude my b8 16" just cracked...don't buy that stuff, if you want good cymbals on a budget get some more of those pst 5's that you have, i hit really hard and pst 5's hold up really well for me, my first cymbals were b8's and i hate them...nice setup

  • @13Drumism yea my B8 cracked in a month. i hate them, but i i was just trying them out. i have a Paiste Alpha 16" as my man crash now. I've had it for almost a year now and it's still in perfect condition. my PST5 cracked along the bell somehow. I'm looking to get a new crash once i get enough money, so i might try some higher Zildjian cymbals too.

  • @logodrumline14 i have had mine and i have had it for alone time

  • What does the microphone bundle come with? And how do I connect them to the mixer?

  • time to but some more high end cymbals cause ur way past the b8 and all that crap it just gunna breark on you again cause u play so much

  • Hey, im just trying to figure this out, right now you have mics>mixer>pc. After you record a track, do you go from the pc>mixer>pc? Its a little confusing to me.

  • What does the microphone bundle come with? And how would I connect them to my mixer?

  • K so in going to buy the mics that u have bd I have 2 questions. What does the kit come with and how would I connect them to the mixer?

  • Hey man, where can I get hold of a U control UCA 200? Does it come with the mixer?

  • HOW MANY MOONGEL HAVE YOU??????

  • I hear that In a smaller room that it sounds worse and bigger sounds fuller and more tonefull is that true?

  • @posiedonpowertrio yea its absolutely true. i just took my drum set to my school for a concert were doing this week and when i played it the drums were so much fuller and blended so well. if i could i'd leave my drums at my school and just stay 3 hours after every day and practice lol

  • i dont know if it has been said...but tilt your crash, thats why they are cracking because you are hitting them at a bad angle

  • what does the u control thing do?? and how much did the mics cost

  • hey man i understand how to listen to the music while you play but i was wondering how to get the actual song and the drum track your recording to go together to make a drumcover. i have a mixer and mics and a laptop and recording software i just dont know how to putthe actual song in after im done recording the song with me drumming to it. if you could help me out the would be perfect because thats all i need

  • @MnMTnS there are 2 ways you can add the song in. 1. add it in before you mix your drums down into their final format. to do this you just put the song on its own track and sync it up with your drum tracks. just make sure there are no effects on the song. 2. add it in after you mix down your drums. when you're combining your video and audio to make the final video, you just add in the song and sync it up to everything else. i hope this helps and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

  • @logodrumline14 alright so if im using say audacity i would put the song on its own track then have my own track for the drums. that would make sense as you said but how exactly would a get to record both of them at the same time?

  • Had that same zbt and it did the exact same thing and theni cut the bell out with tin snips and made a zil bel

  • this helped me soo much mate, thanks a bunch! im buying a behringer mixer with a u control, but im wondering how you get your tracks perfectly in time with your drums? i got really confused about the part where you plugged the u control into the streo.. much appreciated if you could explain that to me? cheers, julie

  • Comment removed

  • never ever spray paint a drum set

  • if u record, is every drumpart in a seperate track on mixcraft?

cause when u opened it, i saw only 1 track, or was that a song? :D

  • it just looks retarded

    LOL

  • and everything so yea

  • i looked up audio interfaces and everything i found only had two inputs. i don't need some professional recording equipment, i just want to be able to record my bass, snare, toms, and mabye an overhead, and fuck with it on my computer. What can i get that will do that job, without me hiring an asian to help me figure it out, or sell my car to pay for it?

  • @muffinsNsausage it depends on how much your willing to spend on an interface. the cheapest one i found that fits my needs and probably yours is $400. its a TASCAM US-1641 USB audio interface. it comes with a recording program so you dont have to spend more money, which is why it probably costs so much. it has 8 mic inputs so you should be able to hook up all of your mics to it. hope this helps!!

  • @logodrumline14 dude i just bought the tascam us1641 for $300. killer deal
