@96miatajj u do kno the k24a2 from a tsx and type s accord have the same head as the rsx type s rite? swapping the heads wuld be pointless, unless u start off with a k20a2 from a type s then put a k24a4 crv block on it with new internals
2002 rsx -s should have won. i have an 06 rsx base auto completely stock which is alot slower than a type s and i always tie my brothers 05 tsx when we race. definitly a shifting problem with the type s driver. did he even drop the clutch off the line for a decent lauch? then again i cant even tell if they both started from a stopped or slightly staggered position
dude.... Both are nice cars, I'm not like anti honda, in fact prob gonna buy an 03 accord (weirdly look at my user from like forrrreever ago... going back to it) v6. anyhow, these guys would cry running with the WRX guys, or German cars just about in general, and they spend less? Yes, Reliability/Mpg is good, but still, these guys obviously race, and they bought the wrong cars. An accord V6 5AT or 6MT would've walked away... WHICH IS SAD...
@730K00LH4NZ33 thats funny cause ive pulled a 1/2 car on tl's of the same year as my TSX 06 and up. once my tsx gets into vtec at 6k its pretty peppy.
Thats a regular rsx. They have the same power but the tsx is 450pds heavier plus almost all of them have a auto trans heavier plus parasitic drain from power. The race was rigged
I just recently bought me a 2005 TSX. I'm pretty pumped about it. It's a very nice car. I haven't had it long enough to really determine it's quality of performance, but despite that, it's a joy to ride!!! Also nice looking place to race.
tsx has the k24 motor whereas the type s has the k20a2, tsx makes more torque and both make the almost the same power...but the tsx is heavier...it was a drivers race...any car could have won!
@cronicmoua yes the K24 makes more torque but weight to power ratio on the cars, the rsx has actually more torque because of its lighter weight plus he can rev to 8k+ rpm !!
@Aldo586 but still, the rsx lost...like i said before the cars are similar in performance. wieght to power ratios are about the same. TSX, heavier car with 2.4 L and more torque. RSX-S lighter car with 2.0 L with less torque. They make the same power, right at 180hp at the crank. It was a drivers race. prove me wrong.
ive been ready and seeing some videos and im planing to buy a car "rsx-s or the tsx"but the thing is i want a fast car both of them look sexy but which one goes faster??? reply back plz??? with a honest answer thanks
there both skow, u need to get a fuckin TL anything under 250 hp is a waste of tie. bmw 325, audi a4, VW jetta, Altima 2.5l tsx, rsx, honda accord 4 cylinder. all slow. and u dont save any gas because they are heavy so the engine will work harder thus requiring more fuel
@acuratlnigga For the price you pay for a TL, you can buy a TSX and mod it to make 230+ HP and rape TLs all day AND still get better gas mileage. Which, Im gettin 32mpg running SRI, headers, custom exhaust, and Hondata Reflash. Ignorant shits think anything under 250hp is waste.
@EthanKZ750 I agree with your theory, just not really so much with the mods you're running... you're probably making 145 to the front wheels... and please don't tell me I'm wrong unless you go dyno it for yourself... It came factory with 145 at the crank, so to even give 15% to a full exhaust and reflash of a fairly well tuned engine to start with, is pretty unlikely.
@accordv6er I think you misunderstood my comment. Im not claiming 230hp with my mods. And as far as theory goes, its been done, dyno charts to prove it. Stock, dyno proven, 165 at the wheels. With my mods, Im around 180 at the wheels, 212 max. 145 is a really low claim to make.
ivtec is still vtec. i dont call it, "i hit ivtec at this rpm" i and everyone basically will say we hit "vtec" at whatever rpm its set at. and its not throughout the whole rpm. i cant tell where my k20a2 civic hits vtec, but its about 6200rpm. but other than that. i think the tsx might have better mods, and it does have like 20 more torque than the rsx though.
dude send ur ecu to hondata and flash that ho!even with a shitty launch like that youll blow by his tank ass in second when that vtec kicks in at 4800!
Actually tsx 6mt is 3230, the auto is close to 3400. Also the rsx is 2775, so almost 2800. So about a 400 difference, and with the tsx having 24 lb's torque more stock. Also might be tsx has better qaulity upgrades.
why do people say the rsx can beat the tsx. the TSX would win in this race because you're starting from 0 mph. On a highway roll, the weight doesn't matter as much.
the TSX is not slow as people think... its is very heavy YES, (about 3200 lbs) and the RSX is like 2800 lbs... but i think the RSX guy shifts really slow. i own a 6 spd TSX and ive ran it to the point that the tires squealed at 3rd gear shift, ive only dont that once on 94 octane
i'd say probably the Torque of the K24, i dont know that much on the RSX-S besides i know the power to weight ratio it should pull. but i ran a 06 RSX-S with my TSX with just intake and suspension and pull on it almost 2 cars on a 2nd gear highway roll and i rev only to 7200rpm but reving high doesn't mean much what matters is the Gear Ratio as well. i guess my final drive is what made the difference from a 4.6 on the RSX and my TSX which is a 4.74 which is close to a K20a tranny final gear.
how did that happen?..i thought the rsx was going to win because of the weight difference..o and mhlpo the rsx-s only revs to 8 and it brings a k20a2 not a k20a (k20a is the type r that comes with 220)
It is funny how the RSX lost in the drag battle. it's got a k20a which revs to 8.5 RPM and is about 200 something kg less. does anyone know why? needs to know!!!
They Sound Exactly the Same
