  • Thank you very much for showing us all that very cool

  • Managed to pick up the bird with a HT and a rubber duckie! S7-8 strength!

Not tried the SSTV image yet, but will certainly give it a try!

Many thanks for the excellent uploads

  • @TKM96 - very cool! I appreciate you sharing your experience . . . let me know how the SSTV works out. 73!

  • APPLE? I thought real hams used Linux.

  • I used it with MMSSTV from my computer to Rigblaster interfaced to my 2 meter base. Got an image first try. Good stuff!

  • Now this is cool! I have always been curious! Thanks for posting! 73 from KJ4UPD

  • Thanks for the video, it inspired me to get back into the hobby after several years. I managed my first copy of ARISSAT-1 tonight complete with the a SSTV image. Thank you again for motivating me to pick a radio up again, I had forgotten what a great hobby this is.

  • Good job. Have fun copying the images. There is also a SSTV receive app for the iPad. Just place the iPad mic near your speaker.

  • @K7AGE - Thanks Randy! I have the app on my iPad and MultiScan 2SL on my laptop. It sure is a lot of fun!

  • Thanks so much for the great article! I re-posted on our Club's Facebook page and actually managed to capture a great SSTV image early this morning as ARISSat-1 passed over Birmingham. What fun! 73 de WA4FAT

  • So cool, I've been following your vids on the subject for awhile and I'm still hooked. Great stuff.

  • I too have a good SSTV downlink from an overhead pass. From inside my house pointing up with my arrow antenna I was able to get a very clean image without the tumble fades, even got it published on the AMSAT.org site.

Thanks for all your videos. From a former Corpsman/IT 73

  • Forgot to add, I also have the recording for the pass, includes the voice, telemetry burst and SSTV.

  • Very good video & description - Your channels are really some of my favorites.

I'm trying to do contacts on the ARISS-SAT SSB inverting transponder (70cm LSB Uplink, 2m Downlink USB) - sadly the passes are late at night here in europe atm and I hat no luck yet.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Too Cool! Thanks for posting.

  • You have come a long way since you started your HAM career. I remember your first videos on the subject. You have accomplished a lot in a short period of time. You are an inspiration. Keep up the good work!!!

  • This was really cool. Space stuff is interesting, let alone radios and that kind of sstuff. The short wave radios and numbers station type stuff is pretty crazy too. thx for the post USNERDOC

  • You've had better luck than I have.... most GOOD passes for me have been at 5AM and I have been unable to stay/get up. Tried setting the radio and SSTV program. I got a nice GREEN AND BLACK screen full of static so I'm getting closer.! 73! Wv8KfA

  • That was shhweat.

  • The sound of the image reminds me of my old ZX Spectrum loading! xD

  • Another great video.

I had no idea HAM TV was so easy, at least you make it look like it

  • Very cool! What would be a good radio to start out with if you were interested in getting into this hobby?

  • Great video as usual Doc. If you check out my video response to your previous RS01S video, I just use a dual 1/8" cable like you use for an ipod to get great quality pics with my laptop and HT. Just plug it into your headphone jack on your radio or scanner and plug the other end into your mic input on your computer. No need to record if you don't want to.
