all tv's and monitors don't play solid video. its done in frames per second where the screen flickers many times a second. this is known as "hertz".

to the human eye it's hardly noticeable but when recording w/ a video camera (which usually is around 29 frames per second) the camera catches the momentary black screen.

@MrSmexyBishop The flickering is from the camera, they are LCD screens, they don't flicker like that in real life. Also the time delay is because there is a lot of memory and the device has to tell each one of the screens what to show. When you turn your computer on, does it start up automatically?

I have only heard of CRT screens flickering, I never saw a case where it happened on a LCD, but these are OLED. My LCD is CCFL lit making fliker not a problem. I know LED's can flicker but I have never seen it before so I wasn't sure.
