  • anyone else reckon that Macleod looks a little like Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight in this scene?

Also, love the film but is it not just slightly unrealistic that to chop off his head, all he had to do was hold out his arm? It takes a hell of a swing to decapitate someone, even if you manage to line it up BETWEEN the vertebrae.

  • @SBS336 Well, you could always ask the Japanese, They did it quite often in WWII...

  • @SBS336

Agree. Though katana's are incredibly sharp. Bambo sticks match bone density..

and you've seen how easily katana's can slice those. :)

  • secret illuminati message @ 7:20 at the last moment of chophead.

  • I never got why Kurgan's headless body does a sword kata before going down O.o

  • @neosoc The Nerves Using the Last bit of Juice..lol Plus it make's For a Better Ending.. :)

  • Sry wrong I was on the bridge...:P

  • That Silvercup sign is famous...I went to New York and when I saw it while on the train I almost wet my pants:P

  • had Mel Binson any kind of enthusiasm to build WWallace version after this?

  • Hollywood never forget, THIS is how you make a good sword fight.

Forget highly precise choreography, this is what we want

Scenes like these easily trump fights like we saw in the prequels

We care about Macleods struggle. We want to see him triumph over the Kurgan

The fight feels real, not some over polished production with characters we weren't attached too

Every impact, every swing, shows herculean power being traded

We see their fight not as fanboy fuel but as closure and character development

  • @GeneralMontague Agreed, it's not too fast but it feels real, there's weight and tension to it.

  • @1234megatron Lazy troll is lazy.

  • THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can see the wires on 8:30 :P

  • Highlander is one of my all time favorite movie.

  • one of the best movies ever made

  • I used to chop off ancient steppe warriors' heads, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • You know? for a movie this old, the choreography is pretty good.

  • instead of sequels lets just count them as spin offs i mean nothing else happens after this

this is the end the tv show and the other movies are their own stories

  • 6:52 "I gon lick you like a stamp boy!"

  • 1 immortal was beheaded.

  • you can see why this movie won the Academy Award. for best movie ever made

  • My nephew asked " What happens if you get your head chopped off in a car accident"? what happens then????

  • @wataki2 Then U are not only 1 but 2 lol, screeeewd lol

  • @wataki2 The immortal nearest to the corpse gains the Quickening.

  • Isn't it funny how's Kurgan is smiling, even in death?

  • @wataki2 How old was your nephew exactly? I used to piss off fans of the tv series by asking questions of "what happens if you get a chunk of your head chopped off or you get sliced through the middle?"

  • @sonic8005 Good Point!!

  • @FrankiethePirate813 According to Highlander wiki, if an immortal gets decapitated by any means and there is an immortal near by - they get the quickening. If no one is there, the quickening returns to the source (no one knows what that is).

  • @sonic8005

Probably die, then come back with the would closed up or healed.

  • @wataki2 your nephew shouldn't see such movies yet.

  • 5:23-7:02 What is the name of that piece of music????

  • (7:35) Tommy Wiseau is right, there can be only one.

  • why they dont make moves like that any more!! =D

  • This has bugged for for years. Does it seem like the shots are in the wrong order @ 6:17 to 6:19 to anyone else? In the film it goes:

Kurgan Swings, Connor blocks -CUT- Kurgan gets sliced in the gut -CUT- Connor slashing -CUT- Kurgan reacting to being cut.

Shouldn't the middle two shots of the slicing and the receiving the cut be reversed? Just a little observation.

  • "*mocks Kurgan's laugh* What kept you?" LOL Just the way he says that made me laugh so hard.

  • DERRE KAN BEEE OONNNLLLLLLLLLLYYYYY WHAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!!! Aye.

  • 7:33

  • hehehe what kept you? 5:17 ;) love it..

  • Highlander's such a great movie. Too bad they never made any sequels.

  • @Simple1Jack They did but, they arent worth watching

  • I love my parents for bringing me to this movie when I was a kid.

  • y fais toujours peur se film meme vingt cinq ans après surtout avec la voix de freddy mercury derrière en fond sa fais peur et bizzare

  • rip freddy mercury

  • Hey, What Kept You?!

  • "There can be only one."

7:52 "Here we are, born to be kings! Were the princes of the universe!"

  • So what exactly was the prize?? This was the best part of the series. Parts 2 and 3 really sucked.

  • @mavmach3 The prize is all human knowledge, probably telepathy.

  • @MrSolidtiger ooo close mate just missed the mortal part out but no disrespecting or anything :) @mavmach3 mate the prize is that not only does immortal becomes mortal and is finally able to have children and have real life, but has also been bestowed with the gift of telepathy, which he decides, remembering Ramirez's teachings, to use for the benefit of mankind.

  • @DavidB0325 Ever noticed how the relationship between Ramirez and Macleod is similar to that of Obi Wan and Luke Skywalker. Ramirez remains by his side in spirit.

  • @mavmach3 Don't forget the sequels that followed the TV show, those sucked worse. The show was good but I don't really care for it since there can be only one Highlander

  • what song on the Highlander soundtrack plays at 5:23?

  • Kell must of already killed about 200 immortals by now

what else could he have been doing at this time before Highlander IV?

  • 7:52 beesnatches

  • BEST ORGASM EVER!!!!!

  • 8:30 string lawlz

  • Anybody know what the music used in the fight inside the studio building is? I'm making a sort of swordfighting scene for a movie, and that music just goes SO well with it.

    ANYBODY?!

  • Am I the only person who likes to pretend that the sequel films just flat out don't exist?

At the very least , I don't consider them canon.

  • @Anthonyisangry Sequels? What sequels? I don't know what you're talking about.

  • 5:21-5:23 HA! HA! HA! What kept you? LOL!

  • i got to buy this and part 2 on blu ray. even though i have this on regular dvd, need to buy this on blu ray!!!

  • the should play the music at 5:23 to 7:04 when its get down to the final 2 in the royal rumble until somebody wins

  • For some reason The finale battle with The Kurgan was more epic than with Kane from the third film. I thought the battle with Kane was way too short.

  • 7:33 Epic words are epic

  • Wait! Is this an alternate ending? I don't remember them going to Scotland?

  • @gullivera I remember the jet flying by, and I've seen this movie so many ti,es i could play a part. I own the directors cut of this movie on VHS. The directors cut is a lot better im my opinion.

I loved the story of this movie, but i believe it was poorly acted and directed. The Kurgan however, was excellent. Of course, Sean Connery was great as well.

The TV series was great. There was a villan in that series whose name was Kalas I think . I was a great few episodes.

  • 9:18

  • never tire of watching HIGHLANDER,

  • @simba282 lol NOPE not the 1st one!

  • Not as climatic as I remember it, but fun nevertheless.

  • You added the music, right?

  • haha maybe if Kurgan wouldnt yell so much when he tryes to finish macleod from behind he maybe win xD "Auuuurgh"
