How all the spartans except master chief died all except 3 spartans (inc master chief) were on the ground fighting and protecting the supermac (mechanicly accelerated guns) guns which... failed...... but it only failed because there 10000+ covanant troops against about 50 spartans which after... the planet got glassed, meanwhile the other 3 one of them got shot maultiple times and died and the other got lost in space so master chief was incredibly lucky :P
