...a person having an attraction to those under the age of consent (the majority of whom are NOT paedophiles by definition) can't control their attraction any more than a gay person can. They just are.

Most just live with it, sadly a few act on it.

I think the sooner people accept that reality, the easier it will be to protect kids. Then the only thing well have to worry about is a society which seems intent on sexualizing our children.

@skeletorphd You may compare homosexuals to heterosexuals. I - as a woman - can't control my attraction towards men anyless than a lesbian towards a woman. it is wrong to try to find equals between gays and paedophiles no matter what. To be attracted to a child and sexually abuse it is wrong and has nothing whatsoever to do with homosexuals.

@Folkmann A person cannot control what attracts them, you could argue from a psychological view that something caused that. But the principle is the same. Maybe using a particular group like homosexuals could be different.

You're attracted to men but you also have an attraction to a particular type of man, particular colour, race, build, eyes, etc.

Someone else is attracted to a particular type of kid. You can't change it anymore than you can change a gay. Difference is its wrong to act on it.

@Folkmann It's hard to explain. I suggest research. That's how I got my head around why people would abuse a kid.

The attempts at justification can be laughable but you do find that they have attractions the same way a homosexual or heterosexual does. There's also stuff that goes into basic instinct if you're into anthropology.

But you'll find its not as clear cut as the media would have us believe and it would take far too long to explain the research here.

But I have done research, you're not the only one and I always - no matter what problem - try to see beyond the clear cut - my problem is not that I haven't tried to understand what drives someone to do anything like that, my problem was that I for a moment thougt that you were one of those loons that were saying that gay people are also paedophiles.

i looked for this tv series almost everywhere. thank you for uploading this. macfadyen's performace was award-winning
