  • no sound what the heck

  • Aquarium dimension plz and glass thickness?

    thnx

  • Holy crap 1,000,000+ views on a "setting up an aquarium video" o.O

  • i just bought a 50 gal, should i buy a filter like that?

  • Who likes my aquariums.

  • I have a 1 gallon goldfish bowl and a 75 gallon tank, just need to put time, money and fish into it

  • So...when is he going to show us how to setup a big tank? This is like 20 gallons.

  • @aaronschool296 can a 20 G look like it's more than 4' long and 15'' wide?

  • didnt realize silence is the instructions...but better then chi-nee i suppose!

  • I am having a hard time getting my PH balance correct. I am trying to get it to 7.0 and I have followed all of the directions to the T , and it always stays at around 6.4 . I have a 72 gallon Bow tank, that was very recentlly professionally cleaned , and all filtrations are up to par. Any ideas of what I can do?

  • @DTRAVELZ its sometimes better to leave the ph as it comes out of the tap as it is better for the fish to have a stable ph than 1 that fluctuates, there is no correct ph,different fish do better in different ph..eg.discus like soft water with a low ph and african cichlids prefer hard water with a high ph.so as they say if it aint broke dont fix it

  • @loxley70 Thanks alot for the advice.

  • no sound, good i dont want to here a wife beating do it yourselfer curse at those little roots while he beat the shit out them

  • the audioo???

  • surley he's got to much substrate in there? its going to get alsorts of nasty bacteria beacuse of the thickness? am i wrong?

  • help me please !! i have 6 zebra danio and they are always active today i found them all hiding under neath the rocks, i opened my window for about a hour if that does any thing, please help please please please i will suscrbe to anyone that helps!!! please

  • @flytyerman you need to rise the temperature. the cold is a good sign for them to start hiding for winter, i have the same problem through winter with my danios and apple snails. its annoying but if you put the temperature up by 4 degrees for a few hours then put it back down 2 degrees it should make them come alive again...and keep the window shut to stop sudden temperature change.

  • am i deff i cant hear?

  • hi can some one explain the substrate is is it aquarium soil ? and also what does fishless clying mean leaving pumps and heaters on for a few days before adding fish ??

  • @X666X666 fishless cycling is when you leave the aquairum running without fish for one month, but you put the daily fish food in as if there were fish

  • Excellent demonstration mate.

  • is my 100 litre fish tank "large"?

  • @pingshiyu not really, its average, i have 60 Litres, 15 gallons, id say yours is about 20 gallons which isnt large but is alrite

  • @1Filmproducer 26 gallons

  • @pingshiyu fairplay, yeah still average but not bad for a begginer, arent u

  • Good video, would have been better with sound. Interesting to watch however.

  • Its very hard to lip read this.

  • don't forget the foooooood! MrFishFlakesDOTcom

  • wouldn't sand as a base substrate possibly facilitate anaerobic bacteria growth?

  • i got babyfish!!!! like one hour old!! check out my channel :DD video "babyfish" or something

  • STEP 10: DIG IN! yummm....! gourami for mondays. other ones, I'd pick out randomly and throw to the cat to play with. Like, you people just dont look at them do you? How boring. Can't think of anything worse. Its also fun trying to catch them blindfolded.....and it evens it up too....ya know? kinda like predator the movie. there is no honor in an unfair fight....but also, its dumb not to add lemon and carlic to the fish you take out. what a waste..!

  • wow! wack!? Ive just been adding tap water to a bathtab and throwing them in (I only have showers). stinks in there. Oh, I see you have a filter....well armed with this info I will be able to stop spending money buying fish. Like I've killed dozens, sometimes slowly and inhumanely. BUt then sometimes I eat the bigger ones. I have 4 common plecos in the tub now. Getting big, but the water is brown. Sundays dinner. (1, not all 4, hell I am kinda skinny ok)

  • play not afraid while watching this

  • OMG I CANT HEAR YOU !

  • Aren't heater/stats supposed to be at 45 degrees or vertical?

  • @outlander271 Why should it?

  • @TomShootsPhoto As recommended by the manufacturers. Maybe modern heater/stats don't need to be.

  • man i realized the fish that really needs a lot of maintenance is the goldfish, others u dont really need to changre the water as much. i havent changed mine in 8 months i just add water because of evaporation and i clean my filter. yes clean my fluval as opposed to changing the insides.

  • putting the aquarium is not my problem ... my problem is decorating it :( ... i don't have much of a artistic mind

  • SOUND AND YOU LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE DOING

  • it look easy, but it will make your back hurts..

  • your aquarium looks boring....no colors ...simply too boring....

  • @andyITA

I like it compare to fake neon colored plants aquarium.

  • Great....I have a question and I'm almost sure other viewers may benefit from your answer. How about CO2 for a good plant life? THAT seems rather complicated and maybe expensive too. I remember as a boy having a good aquarium plantscape (if you can call it like that), and now, if there is no CO2...plants die off easily. I prefer having natural plants instead of plastic...but I want to be better informed.

  • you make really good videos., i'm a nice latin lady who loves to have fun

  • one question, if i add plants to my tank do i have to buy new gravel or sand or what he had in the video cause i have gravel in my tank right now but i dont know if the plants would grow in it

  • @snowandskate69 It depends on how deep it currently is, as long as the plants roots are buried in the gravel/sand it should grow fine.

  • hey fish less cycling actually does hardly anything thats y u buy starter fish, so next time before u make a video know more about what you are doing.

  • @doberman13467 you're wrong maybe you need more practice.

  • @doberman13467 you couldn't be more wrong. if you cycle fishlessly with an ammonia source (bottled ammonia or fish food, for instance), you grow the bacteria culture that converts ammonia into nitrate (via nitrite), thus avoiding poisoning the fish. If you chose to cycle with fish, you're making them suffer ammonia burns and nitrite poisoning as the bacteria establishes itself. Just plain cruel.

Please go do some research. I don't mean that nastily, it's just you obviously need to.

  • 1) Too bad canister for a large aquarium... Dont try to put Discus on it! ;) And put a lot more ceramic/quatiz medium...

    2) The termostate needs to be on a vertical position, cuz the pressure of the water vs its temperature that exciter the termostate system to turn on or off.

    3) You prettend to use a water fertilizant? It was better use a substrate fertilized one, cuz, when you add nutrients to water, it means, algae...

ps. Sorry for bad english... Its not my natural language... :)

  • why do you put the heater on sideways instead of straight and down

  • Step 10: Eat Fish

  • Have I hone deaf?

  • @MrMitchellsMagic LMAO!!

  • what subtrate did you use

  • his mum must still be asleep in the next room thats why hes so quiet

  • Hi

Can the de-chlorinator be bought from the fish shops or from the chemist??

    Cheers...

  • @aflatminor yes but u can buy 1 bag of solid ones than those liquified in bottle packaging .... their more efficient to remove chlorine as well as last u longer than those bottle kind which only last u for months depending on the packaging size.... fish shops do sell those selling in bottles but u can go to fish farm to get the bag roughly sold in 2kg ... each 30g = 1 bottle ... do your calculation on how long u plan to stay on this hobby. CHEERS ! aquascape FTW!

  • @aflatminor

It is obvious that you know nothing about fish keeping to ask a foolish question like that. I hope that you are not thinking of keeping fish. The answer to the question is................... fish shop (more appropriately aquatic supplier).

  • @ALNEAL The whole point of asking questions is to get answers. Why be so snotty over a legitimate question? Even children can be taught to care for fish as long as they are informed, it is not exclusive to "professional fish keeper". I would encourage any and all people to enjoy this hobby. @aflatminor Please don't get deterred, and good luck with your fish keeping if you so choose (which you should! cuz it's fun^.^). Just make sure you keep asking questions! We can only learn from asking Qs :)

  • @CgChickClassOf08

ROFL! Yes, I agree, but it would help if a future fish keeper reads a few books on the subject, instead of asking rudimentary questions on places like YouTube. Too many people, especially children, treat fish as little more than toys instead of living beings that need constant attention and care. Keeping fish should be seen as more than just 'fun'! Anyway, many thanks for the 'professional' compliment and besides that I am never snotty, because I always keep my nose clean!

  • @ALNEAL I agree they should read books first, but the simple fact is many people will not. For them, hell for their fish, I would much rather answer their "rudimentary" questions than let them make a mistake and kill their fishy friends. Btw, who said keeping fish couldn't be fun? I love to just watch them swim. Also, they don't need constant care, thus their appeal to most people. True you must maintain water temps, pH, ext. but they are pretty easy as far as pets go. My son already helps feed!

  • was this made for deaf people

  • @hammertimevice

    Eh?? Wot??

    :-)

  • This video is great for those new fish keepers who wants to set up a tropical freshwater aquarium. However, if there was sound, it would be great.

  • @DiscusKev this guy isn't really all that smart, i mean he does some things wrong

  • @DiscusKev at this point, even a sign language person in the lower corner would be appreciated.

  • any questions about aquariums email me at hagop123321@yahoo.com

  • how many gallons is that tank?

  • i would of let the sand go bumpy so it looks better :D

  • ihav had fish and they are not my fave pet they got boring and they get egnored, so i gave up on buying them! ........ im happy that ppl do look after there fish tho :D

  • how are the fish on 5:37 in the middle named? (three with a black stripe and little red lightning)?

    Thanks

  • @Dan81369 Dension Barbs/ Roseline Sharks, Barbus Densionii

  • Thanks for this!

  • why no sound

  • sound would be nice.

  • This is not a large tank! It is a small one! ;)

  • what kind of bulb are you using ?

  • what kind of bulb are you using in your Hagen Glo T5 HO Lighting System ?

  • would you be able to keep betta fish in a ish bowl wid no filter and just cleaning it reggularly?

  • @niccynoo101

yes, bettas breathe through a modified gill organ called labyrinth... so they need oxygen from air.

Just try to clean your water regularly, because a filthy water causes fin rot, then the gills rot, killing your poor betta

Best option is a betta tank with a bubble pump. :D

  • @niccynoo101 I alway like to say that Bettas should be in at least a five gallon tank. They can survive in a small bowl but like humans they like more room to explore. My betta is in a 10 gallon tank and he is very happy.

  • CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME......I GOT A 120 GAL , AND IM TRIYING TO SET IT UP , BUT I LIVE IN AN APT. BUILDING (10th floor) AND I DONT KNOW IF THE WEIGHT OF THE TANK IS AN ISSUE , TO BE HONEST I DONT WANT THE FLOOR TO CRACK AND BRING THE TANK DOWN TO THE 9th floor , CAN THIS HAPPEN ? THANX, PD. THE BUILDING IS A BASICLY A NEW BUILDING , IT WAS BUILD IN 2001.

  • @supercaite Fine dude, Fine.

  • @supercaite of course it can happen! - check where the walls are that carry the building and maybe position around those walls! i wanted one of those, too but our "normal" house wouldn't carry the aquarium, so I have a smaller one now

  • @supercaite can you ask your hirer maybe? The best would be, to ask the architect of the building or to have the building plants... would be better for you, your aquarium and your neighbor in the 9th floor ;) you can calculate with this (have it from a good book about aquariums): 454 litre = 120 gal 454 litre = 454 kg, = 225 pounds add it to the tableground of the aquarium and the approximate weight of the decoration must be a really good floor hope that could help you
  • @supercaite most sub flooring is 3/4 inch plywood on top of 2x10 or 2x12 i would add a sheet of 1inch ork or birch plywood cut to cover a lease two of the floor joist 16 on center expand the the base (the one inch plywood) 4inches wider than the tank you can cover the base with carpet or stain for looks hopes this helps you out.

ps see if you can find out what the floor joist are

  • @supercaite

I live in a high-rise apartment building. I lived on the 10th floor for a year with a 150 gallon aquarium with no problems. I live on the 4th floor now, and I have a 125 gallon setup with no issues. The office manager told me that the building has concrete floors, so weight shouldn't be an issue. Though she said not to go over 150 gallons -- just to be safe.

Your apartment building probably has concrete floors. Ask if there is a weight limit though -- to be on the safe side.

  • that didnt help set up the water looked foggy, the tank looks old and i couldent see a thing you did(in your tank).

  • is that real wood or is it like a plastic or something?

  • is that dirt?

  • @Robomonkey5000 It's a plant substrate similar to flourite. Might be an off brand one or something.

  • @Robomonkey5000 its silica sand!

  • @Robomonkey5000

It looks like playsand, pool sand is a better option.

  • @Robomonkey5000 kuh dünner

  • fucking ads man !

  • Is there a way to setup an aquarium that does not require me to change water ever. Ie: little or no maintenence?

  • @supercalifragable well it's part of the hobby to change the water etc but if you get small fish and not to many and keep feeding down and not forgetting to get a good filter you could get away with it, and It would be in your best intrest to get a external filter as they filter the water better.

  • this is like my third video in a row with no AUDIO in it !!!!!!!

  • no sound???

guess waat video im noot gonna whatch!

  • fajne XD

  • i would of liked sound.

  • @cccspizza me to

  • @cccspizza Nice grammar.

  • @Yakuzagang5 Nice trollin'.

  • im putting my goldfish and my pictus catfish in a 55 gallon tank tommorow i know these fish can not live together too well mainly because of the temp diff(i think) but since i bought them at petco i didnt know shit :( and i cant return there both pretty small but once there in the tank they should grow right? PLEASE reply to help my catfish and goldfish live together i got good filter and a temp of 79F should i also buy another pictus catfish reply!

  • @82ndScreamingEagles my dino bichir and convict cichlid are both in room temp. water with my bluegill and natives. acclimate them VERY slowly and monitor them for a while

  • wow! Awesome vid! If you don't mind head over to my channel for some new aquarium videos...If you guys could that would be great! Thanks YouTubers!

  • you forgot the step of adding rock/shael on top of substrate

  • whats up w/ these ad's lol i hate them so mutch, i wish youtube will get rid of em

  • large stones and big roots should be in before you fill up with sand, since if you have fishes that dig, it prevent them from falling :) (not directly on the glass tho)

  • Also one should add a few fishes at a time when setting up a new aquarium. And restrict the feeding the first 1-2 weeks.

  • where did you get them and for how much.

  • check out my new wall mount aquariums at copperhead retro video

  • a lot of fishes

  • @Hargonar

the plural form of "fish" is "fish" not fishes

  • @acvaticlifE

    .............

  • @acvaticlifE hey! dumb fuck fishes and fish are both proper english.

  • @evilash1996 maybe....what i remember when i learn english was that the plural of fish is fish !

    i'm not from englans/U.S !

  • @evilash1996 But "fish" is more proper. You'll rarely hear an experienced aquarist refer to them as "fishes".

  • @evilash1996 fish usually is multiple of the same species, but fishes is generally several different species

  • @evilash1996 No it's not, your really need to go back to school. It's FISH. I guess you say deers or deeres too, don't you?

  • overbevolkt

  • cool video check mine out

  • @paulilicious94 Thats what she said.

  • where is the sound ???????????????????????????

  • is that dirt

  • I got a T-Mobile advertisement. what does that have to do with fish? Roflmao.

  • Substrates are very cloudy at the begining. I use mechanical fine floss wool fiber in a canister filter for 24 hour and your water will be clear.

  • aaah good vid but SOUND I NEED SOUND!! aah i cant concerntrate if its too quiet and i cant hear anything..!!! Ahhh!!! SOUND SOUND SOUND i feel better hearing my keyboard type..im not going deaf good :) SO UNCOMFORTABLE WITH NO FREAKN SOUND!!!D: LOL xD

  • how many liters is that aquarium?

  • Very good and relevant content, thank you

  • the MAIN thing to keeping your fish alive is to cycle your tank. it is 100% necessary and probably the most avoided thing. there are tons of guide on google if you want to know more, try searching "how to cycle a fish tank" or something similar

good luck to new fish keepers :D

  • to justaukman, those are Barbus denisoni

  • @jolupuke their scientific name is Puntius denisonii. Their old scientific name was Barbus denisonii//Crossocheilus denisonii.

  • what are thoes fish called that are long with the black stripe and the white tips on the end ????

  • @justaukman im pretty sure they are called cigar fish. but i could be wrong

  • i had a problem of mentaining my tank clean. those dirt on the tank bed was hard to clean up. my filtration only suck the dirt on the water not on the tank bed.

  • @spartackusrey u need to vacuum or siphon it

  • Why put the heater in before the substrate?

  • so its hidden and it wont be sticking out

  • So the heater is buried in the substrate?

  • yea but the heat will still be some what the same

  • Thanks, I didn't realize it was okay to bury a "regular" heater.

  • no problem :)

  • No its not ok to bury a heater, it should have water flow all around it. if you see it was not buried, it was just above the sand/gravel substrate.

  • Well, thanks, that makes more sense and is what I had understood to be the case in the past.

  • make one were u doing the steps as u go please

  • tish is coooolll

  • it ther any sound on 4 any1 coz thers none 4 me hit rely if you do

  • @oscar2hot4u no sound for me too

  • same here

  • can u use coffee cup in fish tank

  • why cant they make a watertight pipe that goes thru the glas insted of putting it like this guy did. it looks ugly

  • thats when the process is starting , after a few days the dirt will sink on the bottum or will be filtered with the pump :)

  • o okay i was gonna say the result looks crystal clear on here

  • its not a dirt ! its just smaller pices of the substrate that are flushed up when water was added

  • @sloppi1234 im not good in english and thats what i mean. But i had small stones (again dont know the exact word in english) but that had also peaces of sand in it so i cooked the stones and then putted in aquarium (like the manuel said)

  • Et dans deux semaines, tout a crevé!

Ne faite surtout pas comme ça!!

    Il n'y connaît absolument rien!
