Every time I plug a Mac version of this, Green sings and plays it differently, and every time he shows a unique understanding of blues phrasing. Our best bluesman.
@GotsTricks TU ESTAS TOTALMENTE EN LO CIERTO ....ES UNA DE LAS APERTURAS MAS HERMOSAS EN LA HISTORIA DEL BLUES....YOU ARE absolutely right .... THIS OPENING IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE HISTORY OF THE BLUES ....
@dolliegirlcat I've been playing his music on Facebook all day as "Green Halloween"...surprisingly, yours is the first mention I've seen of his birthday.
This is the reall FWM the version today dont come close Mick Fleetwood and John McVie should end it all by having one last gig with Peter and Jeremy. cause i think Dannys kinda fucked
My favorite guitarist bar none. Love so many versions of this song, but my fave is the one they did live at the Shrine in '69 and on the cd by that name.
I LOVE PIOUS BIRD OF GOOD OMEN..................just saw a documentary on Fleetwood+the only album i know+love is this one................are there any other albums that i missed from this TRULY GREAT GROUP(peter green.......)
If im missing anything else please tell me........ANYONE.
your missing a lot actually. their debut album, peter green's fleetwood mac, mr. wonderful, english rose, then play on, and then there are some live albums such as live at boston (tea party) bbc sessions, live at marquee, and a couple more maybe, but yeah definitely check those albums out.
Outstanding!!!

The opening of this song is so powerful, it always immediately takes me back.
The way recorded this- the simplicity behind it- is beyond perfect. The even keel of the band too adds a beautiful effect.

Always digged this version from the BBC sessions. It is a real jam for a big fan of the old Mac and indeed Peter Green.
His tone has a little more treble on this take of 'Need your Love So Bad '.
I would perhaps argue he is using a strat here, as he did indeed use one during the BBC sessions.

Played mainly Strats and Les Pauls all my 48 years of playing, and would stake my life on him playing a Les Paul on THIS track.
This is probably my favourite track of all time, and have played and sung it to DEATH !! ))%=)
